Vernal, Utah, United States
RELISTED DUE TO NO PAYMENT!! Time has come to sell my 98 Z28 Camaro, I've had the car over 10 years now. Purchased out of Florida from an older gentlemen with 99k miles. So you can see the car has averaged 2400 miles a year since i've owned it.Although i doubt i've put 5k miles on in the last 5 years. Would love to keep but a new addition to the family means the need for more space. H/C/I car with a truck manifold front mount turbo. Have about 800 miles on turbo build just making sure any bugs were worked out before final tune. Car has a pretty good base street tune with HP tuners (2 bar SD), conservitive 4lbs at 13 degrees timing. Never made it to a dyno (not alot of tuners to choose from here in Utah) Car made 400+ All motor so it should be fairly stout with boost. Motor is a stock internal LS1 with ARP rod bolts, 123000 miles. Checked compression when i started the turbo build last winter and 6 were 180+ and the other 2 were 177 and 176. Spohn Solid motor mounts Patriot Stage 2 Heads-May need a couple valve guide seals, couple plugs were slightly wet. NO SMOKE on startup or under acceleration. Comp cam 224/224 563/563 @114 Comp push rods New LS6 oil pump from Tick, shimmed Taylor plug wires with 2000 degree sleeves NGK BR7EF plugs gapped at 28 LS6 Intake with 60lb Siemens Deka injectors Racetronix single in tank pump with hotwire kit Devils Own stage 2 progressive Methanol kit-Tank is in the Washer fluid bottle. Turbo kit is a homebuilt V-banded truck manifold kit that retains stock alternator location. No A/C. Manifolds have been coated as well 2.5" hotside coated and DEI titanium wrapped 76mm ON3 turbo w/96 AR with lava blanket ON3 50mm BOV 44 mm wastegate with 4# spring (also have a 10#) Manual boost controller AEM Failsafe Wideband- super cool product http://aemelectronics.com/?q=product...failsafe-gauge -Failsafe options not hooked up yet. Single 3" V-banded downpipe that runs out the back through spintech mufflers or a 3" cutout that dumps before rear tires Griffin Radiator thats been stood up Derale Dual fans- ZERO cooling issues with these fans. Suspension : BMR subframe connectors BMR lower control arm and relocation brackets BMR adjustable pan hard bar BMR adjustable tourqe arm BMR lowering springs Moser 9" rear Strange center section Motive 4.30 gears (planned on changing this) T56 trans with Ram clutch (clutch will most likely need upgraded with a tune and more boost) Billet specialties fly wheel adjustable master cylinder VFN 3" SS hood Sitting on custom cut 17" Centerline wheels with Toyo Proxes tires 275 rear and 245 front. New interior right before turbo build, was originally a tan leather car now its ebony, no rips or tears. Dash was nice until i got it back from the interior shop that did the headliner, now its cracked. JVC head unit 4 Polk Audio speakers 1 10" Memphis Sub in a stealth sub box in spare tire well. 2 AMPS Exterior is in really good condition, (i think for the year) always garage kept, typical chips and whatnot from driving, no dents or big dings. Has a couple spots where the last owner tried touching up some chips that don't match . Now time for what needs done, Obviously a final tune- I have HP Tuners Pro w/4 credits i'll include for the right price. Used the other 4 on this car Pinion angle needs adjusting, has a slight vibration at freeway after the i installed the lowering springs. Pinion seal and output shaft seal leak a little after driving awhile i'd assume from the vibration wobbling the seals The rear end may need a new clutch disk set, doestn't spin both tires all the time. Car has no power steering currently which isn't bad at all,I have all the parts just removed it. It needs new lines, i was going to do this but the rack had a leak and torn boot so i didn't want power steering fluid spewing all over the hotside. I would clean up the engine bay a little, clean up and loom the power wires, fab a battery hold down, etc. And here is a short idle and drive by video http://youtu.be/YQqlY0d5AgE http://youtu.be/w2rXQ_usa0Q I have the car for sale locally, so auction can end at any time. I know there are things that I am forgetting. Please ask any and all questions you may have before bidding. I can be reached at 435-225-48one1, i will be unable to awnser Sat the 4th through Monday the 6th but you can text me and i'll respond when i can. Chevy up to old EVs-equal-range-anxiety tricks in new Volt Olympics ad
Fri, Feb 14 2014General Motors is at it again with a new Chevrolet Volt TV commercial. Viewers of the Winter Olymics (at least in some markets) recently saw a TV ad in between the skating and the skiing that made no mention of the environmental benefits or freedom from the power of Big Oil that electric vehicles provide. No, this one was based on pure survival instinct. In the video, a father is driving down a highway, perhaps through the Mojave Desert. His young son is sitting in the Volt's backseat and asks what happens when the EV's battery runs out. "We'll have to cross that burning desert with snakes and cactus until we make it back to civilization," the dad tells his son as they pass the skeleton of a fallen bull. The fine print makes it clear that the actual maximum range is 342 miles. But there is hope. The father tells his son, with a beaming smile on his face, that the gas generator has kicked in and they're going to make it through the desert. As they wend their way to the horizon, a voice over says that Volt drivers who charge up regularly are making it 900 miles between fill ups. The fine print makes it clear that the actual official maximum range before you need to either plug in or fill up is 342 miles. This theme that emphasized range anxiety has been utilized by GM since the extended range Volt was launched in late 2010, despite the fact that Chevrolet now offers an all-electric vehicle in the Spark EV. Volt fans are praising the commercial, called The New Freedom, on the GM-Volt forum and you can see for yourself below. This content is hosted by a third party. 2016 Chevy Volt orders start tomorrow
Thu, May 28 2015For anyone in California who wants to be among the first adopters of the 2016 Chevrolet Volt, then May 28 is very important. Dealers in the Golden State get to be first to place orders for the range-extended electric vehicle on that day, but buyers in the rest of the US just have to wait a few months until their turn comes. This info comes from dealer data gathered by Inside EVs and confirmed by General Motors to AutoblogGreen. According to these slides, dealers in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont must wait until August 27 to place an order for the Volt. Finally, the reservations for the rest of the nation open up on October 1. The first production of these new models starts in August after a six-week shutdown at the Hamtramck factory to prepare for it. We already know that the 2016 Volt starts at $33,170, plus $825 destination, before federal or state incentives and is available in seven exterior colors and five interior upholstery options. The sedan is offered in LT and LTZ trims. Opting for the higher level adds features like an upgraded audio system, auto-dimming rearview mirror, front and rear heated leather seats, wireless device charging, and Automatic Park Assist. A navigation system on an 8-inch screen and safety assist suite are also optional, according to these documents. Related Video:
Junkyard Gem: 1985 Chevrolet Sprint
Thu, May 21 2020For in the 1985 model year, General Motors began selling Chevrolet-badged Suzuki Cultus hatchbacks in California. Sales of the cheap three-cylinder econobox in the rest of North America followed soon after (with the Canadian version known as the Pontiac Firefly), and did pretty well considering the crash in gasoline prices during the middle 1980s. Starting in 1988, the facelifted Sprint became the Geo (and, later on, Chevrolet) Metro. Here's one of the very first Cultuses sold on our shores, found in a San Francisco Bay Area car graveyard. Amazingly, the primitive rear-wheel-drive Chevrolet Chevette remained available all the way through 1987, competing with the thriftier front-wheel-drive Sprint in the same showrooms. For 1988, Pontiac started selling a rebadged Daewoo LeMans, so the Sprint/Metro never lacked for intra-corporate competition. Inside, you'll find the same stuff most mid-1980s Japanese econoboxes got: tough cloth upholstery and long-wearing hard plastics. Suzuki quality in 1985 wasn't quite up to Honda or Toyota levels, but you weren't paying Honda or Toyota prices for the Sprint. MSRP on this car started at $4,949, or about $12,000 in 2020 dollars. The cheapest possible 1985 Chevette cost $5,340, while a new no-frills Ford Escort would set you back $5,620. Subaru, however, could have put you in a punitively unappointed base-model Leone hatchback for just 40 bucks more than the Sprint that year. I think I'd have sprung the extra for a $5,348 Toyota Tercel, a $5,195 Mazda GLC, or— best cheap-commuter deal of all that year— the $5,399 Honda Civic 1300 hatchback. I was 19 years old and driving a Competition Orange 1968 Mercury Cyclone that year, and I recall feeling pity for Chevy Sprint drivers, new-car smell or not. Still, these weren't bad cars for the price, though a Sprint with an automatic transmission was a real character-builder. Got three cylinders and uses 'em all! 48 horsepower from this hemi-headed SOHC 1-liter. The Turbo Sprint — yes, such a car existed — had a howling 70 horsepower. The hood-latch release is a rectangular button that resembles a badge. 1985 Chevy Sprint Commercial The highest-mileage, lowest-priced car you can buy. 1985 holden barina commercial The Australian-market version was the Holden Barina, and the TV ads featured the Road Runner. 1983 SUZUKI CULTUS Ad In its homeland, this car got screaming guitars and a drive through New York City for its TV commercials.
