This auction is for the sale of my Chevy Silverado Crew Cab Pickup truck. The combination of the DuraMax Diesel and Allison Transmission make it the ideal combination of power and economy for towing. I use it to tow my race car. I previously had a Dodge Dually 3500 with the Cummins diesel, and this rig tows better, and returns better economy. I get up to 21 MPG on the highway unladen, and up to 15 MPG towing my race car and trailer (7,200 #)

The 4WD gets you out of rough terrain situations when needed, and it would make an excellent snow plowing machine, even though I never plowed with this unit. It comes with a Class IV hitch receiver. The one Ton rating comes as a Single Rear Wheel arrangement rather than a Dually, and I find it to actually be better for my application. I can park the unit easier in tight spots, I save on tolls fees on Toll Roads like the NJ Turnpike and Garden State Parkway, and the slimmer lines seem to contribute to better fuel milage. All this with very little sacrifice of GVW Rating.

I bought this truck about 3 years ago with 140,000 miles on it, and it has been a flawless performer. It has never let me down. The previous owner never towed with this vehicle. He used it to deliver show dogs back and forth to Viginia, so the early part of the vehicles life and the majority of the accumulated milage has been light duty usage. I've only towed my low stressed trailer for the last 15,000 miles, so overall wear and tear on the vehicle is about as low as you can find. It is certainly not even at Half-Life status.

The reason for selling this rig is the need to move on to a higher capacity vehicle due to an expansive effort with the race car that will demand a larger trailer that can haul more equipment. I am so sold on this Trucks mechanical combination of DuraMax and Allison, that I have chosen to stay with GMC and have selected the TopKick-Kodiak series for the longer wheelbase/load capacity that they offer.

I have just installed new tires up front and the backs will take you anywhere you want to go for at least another 12,000 miles. I am not aware of this truck needing anything. I merely turn the key, and off I go. I am an Industrial forklift mechanic by trade and I religiously change the oil and filters every 5,000 miles using the best Synthetic oils and filters. The interior is in excellent, near new condition which is a reflection of the light duty usage.

The only body flaw can be found in the picture that shows an area on the left rear corner (below the 4X4 decal) that has been disturbed by the previous owners relative that accidently backed into the truck while maneuvering in her driveway. There is slight deformation of the sheetmetal, and I often thought I would take care of the damage myself, but it constantly gets put off because it doesn't look that bad. I think a little work with a soft plastic hammer could straightened out the area, and it doesn't even need paint.

Review the pictures and you will find added extras like Window rain guards, tinted glass, a HD GM bed liner, AM-FM CD Sirius Radio, Floor mats, Full length entry step bar under both doors, and more. The high quality lo-profile fiberglass cap keeps the wind resistance low and contributes to the highest milage attainable. It also lets you park the truck under low clearance garage door spaces.

Check my flawless E-Bay rating to put your mind at ease in acquiring this trouble free truck.

Any further questions will be answered by my Home phone (908) 534-5341 between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM (EST) or cell phone (609) 847-0738 during the day. Please don't call after 10:00 PM (EST).

I would prefer local pickup , but will consider delivery at reasonable cost.

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

2015 Chevy Tahoe gets Police Patrol Vehicle treatment

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

That was fast. Mere days after showing a Police Concept based on the 2015 Tahoe at the SEMA Show, Chevrolet has announced that it will build a PPV model based on the SUV to do battle with the Ford Police Interceptor Utility (Explorer) and Dodge Durango Special Service.
You'll recall that the Tahoe has been police staple for several years, predating both the Explorer and Durango police variants, so the fact that the new model would spawn a police variant is hardly surprising. Like the civilian model, the 2015 PPV benefits from a more efficient 5.3-liter, direct-injection V8 that pumps out 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. It also features more high-strength steel, offering better crash protection, on top of optional safety items like lane departure warning, forward collision alert and a Safety Alert Seat.
The press release is rather light on police-specific items, aside from the auxiliary battery, which keeps the myriad of electronics in a modern police car running even when the engine isn't. Lightbars, 17-inch steel wheels on Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires and a push bar round out the mods for the Tahoe PPV. The cabin features a revised center console and room for laptop and other equipment mounts.

Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.
