Hi!
I'm selling my 1996 Chevy 1500. It has 167k miles on it. I have had this truck for about a year and have used it as a second vehicle. I used it mostly for hauling the dog around and random errands around town. I have only put about 6,000 miles on it since I've owned it. I do not want to get rid of it but have had some things come up and I can use the cash. When I purchased the truck a year ago, I had planned on keeping it for a long time so I had a lot of work done to keep it running well and reliably. Here is what has been done:
New Tires (they now have about 3,000 miles on them)
New spark plugs and wires
New air conditioning system (compressor, accumulator)
New radiator
New power steering pump
New o2 sensors
New front brake pads and had the rotors turned
New wheel bearings on front wheels
Full transmission service
Had all of the fluids flushed and replaced
New serpentine belt
New belt tensioner
Flowmaster exhaust (sounds great, not too loud)
New radio (CD player and has an AUX and USB port)
K&N Air Filter
This truck has power locks and windows. It has a bench seat in the front and rear (seats 6). It also has a 6 foot stepside bed with a bedliner. It has a 5.7L V8 that runs strong. The drivetrain is RWD This is a great truck that I would not hesitate to drive anywhere. It runs great and I am upset that I have to get rid of it. The only flaw that I can think of is that the paint is fading on the truck and there is some minor hail damage on the hood (was like that when I purchased it). All of the flaws are cosmetic. The truck is mechanically very sound.
As a part of the sale, I will include a set of plug and play xenon headlights (just haven't had time to get them installed yet) and a heavy duty jack and truck stands.

Chevy rolls out Silverado HD High Country
Wed, 09 Apr 2014It's been a good week for heavy-duty truck buyers. First, Ram revealed the Black Package for its HD trucks, then it rolled out its new Power Wagon, and now Chevy's getting in on the action with its Silverado High Country HD. Okay, so it may not pack quite the attitude of Ram's latest 2500-series offerings, but the High Country HD will come as a welcome addition to the Chevy Trucks range to those looking to pull their horse, boat or other trailer without skimping on creature comforts.
Rolled out a little under a year ago, the High Country trim is Chevy's answer to the likes of the GMC Denali, Ford King Ranch and Ram Longhorn. It has until now only been offered on the light duty, 1500-series Silverado, but now extends to the 2500 and 3500-series HD models, as well.
So what sets a High Country pickup apart from lesser Chevy trucks? You'll be able to pick it out based on its chrome horizontal grille, body-color bumpers, 6-inch tubular side steps, 20-inch chrome wheels (18-inch on the 3500 and 17-inch on the dualie) and, of course, plenty of special badging. But it's inside where the High Country makes its mark, with a cabin decked out in saddle brown perforated leather, seats that are both heated and cooled, eight-inch touchscreen with full MyLink suite, Bose audio and park assist functions front and rear to keep those color-keyed bumpers looking fresh. (Though Chevy hasn't yet showed us the interior of the HD model, it'll presumably look mostly the same as the cab in the 1500 High Country in the gallery below.)
Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works
Fri, 22 Mar 2013When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.
800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable
Tue, 01 Oct 2013What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.
