1989 Chevy Pickup I started to rebuild a few years ago while driving. It has a 1998 front end on it, with new factory GM fenders, Cervini cowl hood, cheap front bumper that has surface rust that will clean up or buy a better one, with new parts to convert the front grill. At the time I also changed the doors to power windows and locks, with the larger painted mirrors for towing as I used this truck to tow a boat with occasionally. The cab corners were replaced while painting the cab but now need the rockers replaced though. I replaced the bed with one in better condition but I only primed it. It has a few dents but mainly needs painted. The interior is all apart as I was planning on repainting to freshen it up. The headliner was already replaced with blue tweed.

The drive train is where tons of money was put into this truck. Jasper 350 bored .30 to make it a 355. I put in a large roller cam as it runs and sounds great. After driving a little I decided to do up a set of heads. I replaced with 305 heads to get more compression, port match the intake, screw in studs, heavy springs and custom pushrods. I also did some work to the throttle body. I replaced all fuel lines and fuel pump. Exhaust is shorty stainless headers with dual exhaust. Transmission got a larger pan and shifts well no problems. I pulled the small radiator and replaced with 34" core radiator. Alternator is new high output. Drive shafts were rebuilt with hardened u-joints. The rear was rebuilt with eaton posi and 4.11 gears. Brakes have maybe 1000 miles on them with new cross drilled bear rotors and pads, new calipers, braided lines and new shoes in the rear. All tires have 10/32 or more.

Truck runs great just don't have the time for it as I am building a house. All spare parts I have for this truck goes as well. Would be a great work truck or someone to finish restoring.

Happy bidding, any questions email me.

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.

Chevrolet SS previewed by Holden VF Commodore SS V show car

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

It won't be long before we see the official, production-ready Chevrolet SS sedan (hint: it will be revealed this weekend). And to tide us over until all of the official details are released about the US-spec version, we have this: the Holden VF Commodore SS V show car, a performance-oriented brother to the Calais V that debuted earlier in the week.
What we really want to know about the SS V is what lies underhood, but General Motors' Australian arm is keeping that under wraps until the Chevy model breaks cover this weekend. Nevertheless, it's obvious that the SS V will be a serious performer, with all sorts of aggressive cues driving that home on the car's exterior. Take a look at those 20-inch billet aluminum wheels that hide big Brembo brake calipers up front, the sculpted hood and front fascia, the wide air intakes with LED running lights and the quad exhaust pipes out back. It's like the Pontiac G8 GXP never even left us.
Inside, there's a sporty-looking interior with aluminum accents that mix in with black leather and suede surfaces, all tied together in the middle with an eight-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system. It looks great, and again, while we don't know anything regarding powertrain details, it makes us oh-so happy to see a manual shifter smack dab in the middle of the center console.
