All that is left is to customize to your taste, for more info on it please email me for any questions. Below is a more detailed description. Thanks for looking

1971 Chevrolet Cheyenne, Custom Viper Yellow/new Charcoal Gray carpet

Engine: about 2000 miles on rebuilt motor, 350ci (bored .030 over), 600 cfm edlebrock performer kit w/aluminum intake and a slightly bigger cam, ignition has been converted to HEI distributor. I have 11 mm racing quality plug wires on it. Engine has true dual exhaust with 18 in glass-packs leading to 3" chrome tips (this exhaust system is older than the restoration process).

Drive train: 4x4, tanny is a SM 420 4spd w/a 6.85 granny gear with new clutch. Transfer case is the NP205 cast-iron gear driven heavy duty (won't find a stronger t-case for this truck), the rear end is stock w/ 3.08:1 gear ratio, transfer case and trans have new main shaft bearings bearings. The only thing I have not done to the drivetrain yet is to go through and check both front and rear differentials.  Has power steering and power brakes. Transfer case does have a small leak at the speedo reducer.

Body: Frame off restoration, frame was blasted and painted black and also checked for alignment, 111000 original miles (approximate miles, it is currently in storage and have not had a chance to go look) on the truck, cab has new floor pans and cab corners, 8 foot box is a rust free box from the south and is now rhino lined black.

Misc: color is a variation of the 98-99 Dodge viper yellow (just half of the white), interior has new carpet charcoal gray and new seat lap belts (seat needs to be reupholstered to match carpet), dash painted to match exterior, original black dash pad and visors, has new front and rear glass along with complete weatherstrip replacement for the for the doors (not the windows).

Things left to finish: reupholster seat, there is a factory radio but it barely works, no horn yet, and just to customize to your taste. Exterior still has the original inner and outer grill. Fix a few small oil leaks. Also a few spots need some touch-up in the paint. I have multiple kinds of parts and accessory books to go with it, as well as the original intake and carburetor.

GM CEO Barra says 'we are selling every truck we can build'

Tue, Jun 14 2022

DETROIT — General Motors Chief Executive Mary Barra said on Monday the automaker is "selling every truck we can build" and expanding North American truck-building capacity, even as U.S. gasoline prices hit record highs. Barra made her comments during the automaker's annual shareholder meeting. GM is pursuing a two-track strategy: Investing heavily in electric vehicles for North America, China and other markets, and funding those investments by trying to maximize profits from its North American combustion pickup truck and large SUV lineups. Barra said GM is planning higher-priced versions of its Silverado large pickup and its large SUV models. GM and its Detroit rivals Ford Motor Co and Stellantis NV rely heavily on sales of large pickup trucks and SUVs for global profits. High U.S. gasoline prices in the past have undermined consumer demand for relatively inefficient models. Nominal pump prices hit an average of above $5 a gallon for the first time ever last week, the federal government said Friday. GM is ramping up production of EVs. Barra said the Cadillac Lyriq electric sport utility is sold out through 2023. In response to shareholder questions, Barra said the "clear priority" for using cash generated by its operations is to "accelerate our EV plans." She did not rule out share buybacks or other approaches to returning cash to shareholders. GM still expects to increase production this year by 25-30%, despite continuing pressure on semiconductor supplies globally. Barra said GM is working to redesign vehicles to reduce the number of processors required by 95%. Barra serves as GM's board chair and CEO. GM shareholders overwhelmingly rejected a proposal to separate those roles.

GM again delays plant that will build the Silverado EV

Tue, Jul 23 2024

General Motors Co. will again push back the planned opening of an electric pickup truck plant in suburban Detroit and has delayed a Buick plug-in amid uncertain growth in battery-powered car sales. Mary Barra, the company’s chief executive officer, told analysts Tuesday on an earnings conference call the automaker is postponing until mid-2026 the opening of its Orion Assembly factory, which will make the Chevrolet Silverado EV. This is the second delay for the plant, which was originally slated to start production in late 2024. Shares of the automaker fell 4.1% to $47.52 as of 9:39 a.m. in New York. The stock is up about 32% so far this year. The delay is a main reason why GM wonÂ’t be able to meet its previous goal of having production in place to make 1 million EVs by the end of next year. The company said they will add production as buyers show more interest in electric vehicles. “We continue to make sure we continue to scale the business to customers and where they are at,” GM Chief Financial Officer Paul Jacobson said on a call with reporters. GM reported on Tuesday a 60% jump in second quarter profit compared with a year ago, topping Wall StreetÂ’s expectations on strong demand for its traditional gas-powered trucks in the US market.

GM won't really kill off the Chevy Volt and Cadillac CT6, will it?

Fri, Jul 21 2017

General Motors is apparently considering killing off six slow-selling models by 2020, according to Reuters. But is that really likely? The news is mentioned in a story where UAW president Dennis Williams notes that slumping US car sales could threaten jobs at low-volume factories. Still, we're skeptical that GM is really serious about killing those cars. Reuters specifically calls out the Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6, Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Impala, Chevrolet Sonic, and the Chevrolet Volt. Most of these have been redesigned or refreshed within the past few model years. Four - the LaCrosse, Impala, CT6, and Volt - are built in the Hamtramck factory in Detroit. That plant has made only 35,000 cars this year - down 32 percent from 2016. A typical GM plant builds 200,000-300,000 vehicles a year. Of all the cars Williams listed, killing the XTS, Impala, and Sonic make the most sense. They're older and don't sell particularly well. On the other hand, axing the other three seems like an odd move. It would leave Buick and Cadillac without flagship sedans, at least until the rumored Cadillac CT8 arrives. The CT6 was a big investment for GM and backing out after just a few years would be a huge loss. It also uses GM's latest and best materials and technology, making us even more skeptical. The Volt is a hugely important car for Chevrolet, and supplementing it with a crossover makes more sense than replacing it with one. Offering one model with a range of powertrain variants like the Hyundai Ioniq and Toyota Prius might be another route GM could take. All six of these vehicles are sedans, Yes, crossover sales are booming, but there's still a huge market for cars. Backing away from these would be essentially giving up sales to competitors from around the globe. The UAW might simply be publicly pushing GM to move crossover production to Hamtramck to avoid closing the plant and laying off workers. Sales of passenger cars are down across both GM and the industry. Consolidating production in other plants and closing Hamtramck rather than having a single facility focus on sedans might make more sense from a business perspective. GM is also trying to reduce its unsold inventory, meaning current production may be slowed or halted while current cars move into customer hands. There's a lot of politics that goes into building a car. GM wants to do what makes the most sense from a business perspective, while the UAW doesn't workers to lose their jobs when a factory closes.
