Here for sale is my 1981 Chevrolet Silverado C-10 2wd truck with only 61,609 miles on the clock.  Pictures does not do this truck any justice.  The body is Laser Straight and this truck is very very tight.  This truck speaks for itself and what you see is what you get. It has a clean and clear title with zero rust from being in the south with very low miles on her.  It has been lowered 2" in the front and 4" in the rear all using Belltech parts.  It rides as good as it looks.  Very smooth.  I have a 2006 and it rides every bit as good as it does.  She got a new crate motor at around 30k because it set so much the original 305 expired.  It has a GM Crate 350/260HP crate motor coupled to a Turbo 350 3spd tranny that shifts perfect.  It also a and Edelbrock intake and Edelbrock 600cfm carb with Hedman Headers with true dual exhaust that is very quiet.  The truck was painted "no expense spared" about 6yrs ago by my brother and he didn't touch the inside of the bed because he thought it would be better to show how it was never used as a truck and I'm glad he did. The color is called Burnt Orange but if you have ever seen a copperhead snake here in the south it looks just like that color on the snake.  Very nice. He used top of the line PPG primer, base coat, and clear coat.  The color is original.  The interior was freshened up when he painted it which consisted of new seat upholstery and new dash pad.  The glass in this truck looks like a 60,000 mile vehicle should and its in great shape.  She wears a new set of Grand Am radial tires 255 70 R15s.  I don't want to sell her but for personal reasons that I can't help I am forced to.  If you have any ?'s please ask and I'm 100% transparent and honest look at my feedback.  This truck is not perfect but is very very very nice.

Only thing that is wrong with the truck is the horn doesn't work and it needs new valve cover gaskets. Just dried out from not getting drove very much .  Nothing that will stop you from driving her.  I have a couple of videos of her running and driving I can email them to you if you like.

Buyer is responsible for shipping arrangement but will help anyway I can.

There is no warranty, refunds or returns and she is being sold "As Is"

If you have zero or less that perfect feedback contact me before you bid or make an offer.

Please if don't have the money or are a tire kicker don't waste my time and money. I can't afford it. I respect you and expect the same for me.

Thanks for looking and have a blessed day.

OnStar to offer 90-day driving assessment, possible insurance discount

Wed, Jan 7 2015

General Motors has announced a brace of new features for OnStar, two of which could help you save money assuming you're willing to sign over some (more) personal details. The first is a driving assessment program in which OnStar takes note of certain driving parameters for 90 days, then provides the driver feedback on their driving, both individually and when compared to other drivers in the program, as well as driving tips. Think of it as OnStar's ICE version of the Nissan Leaf's CARWING feature that compares how efficient your electric driving is compared to other BEV drivers. In this case, though, certain drivers will have the chance to share their assessment with Progressive Insurance, and if the numbers are right they might get a "driving-based" discount from the insurance company. The assessment program is voluntary, and requires opting in. It will be available this summer on all new GM cars and some GM vehicles back to 2013. In case this sounds like Big Brother, let's not forget that Big Brother is already here and moved in so long ago that he's a member of the Kiwanis club and is hosting neighborhood block parties. Progressive already has a million enrollees in a program called Snapshot that tracks OBD II data to offer usage-based insurance to provide annual pricing based on how much you drive your car, with discounts of up to 30 percent. The OnStar effort is just another way to do that. The second feature is proximity offers through AtYourService, which notifies drivers to deals and information on their driving route and provides coupons from RetailMeNot and Entertainment Book. Beyond that, a deal with Priceline will let OnStar agents book hotels for you starting this year, there's a tie-in with Dunkin' Donuts, too, but we're fuzzy on those benefits, and third new feature lets Chevrolet owners know when certain parts need replacing. The best Super Bowl car commercials from the last 5 years

Wed, Jan 28 2015

If you've been dipping into the Autoblog feed over the past days and weeks, you wouldn't even have to be a sports fan to know the Super Bowl is coming up. Automakers have been teasing their spots for the big game, dropping them days early, fully-formed onto the Internet and otherwise trying to amp up the multi-million-dollar outlays that they've made for air time on the biggest advertising day of the year. And, we're into it. The lead up to the Super Bowl is almost akin to a mini auto show around these parts; with automakers being amongst the most prolific advertisers on these special Sundays. The crop of ads from 2015 looks as strong as ever, but we thought we'd take a quick look back at some of our favorite spots from the last five years. Take a look at our picks – created from a very informal polling of Autoblog editors and presented in no particular order – and then tell us about your recent faves, in Comments. Chrysler, Imported From Detroit Chrysler, Eminem and a lingering pan shot of "The Fist" – it doesn't get much more Motown than 2011's Imported From Detroit. With the weight of our staffers hailing from in and around The D, it's no wonder that our memories still favor this epic Super Bowl commercial (even though the car it was shilling was crap). Imported really set the tone for later Chrysler ads, too, repeated the formula: celebrity endorsement + dramatic copy + dash of jingoism = pulled car-guy heartstrings. Mercedes-Benz, Soul teaser with Kate Upton One of our favorite Super Bowl commercials (and yours, based on the insane number of views you logged) didn't even technically air during the game. Mercedes-Benz teased its eventual spot Soul with 90-seconds worth of Kate Upton threatening to do her best Joy Harmon impression. (Teaser indeed.) It doesn't win points for cleverness, use of music, acting, or any compelling carness, but it proved that Mercedes' advertisers knew how to make a splash in the Internet Age. And, hey, it's still classier than every GoDaddy commercial. Kia, A Dream Car. For Real Life Like the Mercedes video above, the initial draw here is a pretty lady; in this case the always stunning Adriana Lima. But this Kia commercial really delivers the extra effort we expect while scarfing crabby snacks and homemades, too. First of all, Motley Crue. Second, a cowboy on a bucking rhino. Enjoy yet again.

MotorWeek Retro Review revisits 1984 Corvette

Thu, Oct 1 2015

MotorWeek's Retro Reviews are always a great glimpse into the cars of yesteryear. However, the newly uploaded look back at the 1984 Chevrolet Corvette is an absolute treasure trove for any auto history buff. This is a full episode of the show from the '80s, and it's dedicated to all of the details about the newest 'Vette to hit the market at the time. Beyond just the usual drive and an in-depth walk around, one of the major highlights here is a brief look at some on the concepts that eventually resulted in the fourth-generation Corvette of 1984. The C4's shape harkens back to sketches from 1978, and there even shots of early clay models that led the way for the design. MotorWeek also takes a tour through the Bowling Green, KY, factory for a detailed inspection of the entire production process. John Davis repeatedly calls the Corvette "the plastic fantastic" during the episode, and he can't find too much negative to say about being behind the wheel of the then-new coupe. See how it stands up to your own memories in the clip above.
