You are bidding on a 1970 Chevrolet C-10 pickup. This truck has undergone extensive restoration and was my project for many years. Unfortunately, due to a move, I no longer have a garage storage space and this beautiful truck cannot sit outside! The truck and motor are fresh and do not even have 100 miles on it yet. Here are just a few of the features: POWERTRAIN: -1965 396 BBC block bored 30 over, freshly built and broken in. -iron oval port heads, ported and polished with 3 angle valve job with 2.19/1.88 stainless valves. -Isky Hydraulic lifter cam, crane roller rockers -Edelbrock Performer RPM airgap intake manifold -Holley HP double pumper mechanical secondary race carb -K&N filter charger air cleaner with lid -GM performance cast aluminum valve covers with baffles and K&N breathers - MSD full ignition including digital 6 control box with rev limiter and optional timing retard, Blaster coil, and Pro billet distributor. - Taylor 10mm spark plug wires with matching wire separators - Powermaster chrome high amp alternator - Powermaster megatorque starter FUEL SYSTEM: -Custom stainless fuel tank mounted underbed with built in bungs for AN fittings -Full 8AN braided fuel system from tank to carb(not fake dress up braid) -Holley "black" electric fuel pump -Barry Grant fuel filter and pressure regulator EXHAUST: - Hooker Super Competition headers, equal length tubes and ceramic coated. - dual magnaflow exhaust with side exit COOLING: - Edelbrock aluminum high flow water pump - aluminum 4 core radiator with twin flex lite electric fans which operate on temp sensor -March performance serpentine pulley system. Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. Chevrolet SS previewed by Holden VF Commodore SS V show car
Thu, 14 Feb 2013It won't be long before we see the official, production-ready Chevrolet SS sedan (hint: it will be revealed this weekend). And to tide us over until all of the official details are released about the US-spec version, we have this: the Holden VF Commodore SS V show car, a performance-oriented brother to the Calais V that debuted earlier in the week.
What we really want to know about the SS V is what lies underhood, but General Motors' Australian arm is keeping that under wraps until the Chevy model breaks cover this weekend. Nevertheless, it's obvious that the SS V will be a serious performer, with all sorts of aggressive cues driving that home on the car's exterior. Take a look at those 20-inch billet aluminum wheels that hide big Brembo brake calipers up front, the sculpted hood and front fascia, the wide air intakes with LED running lights and the quad exhaust pipes out back. It's like the Pontiac G8 GXP never even left us.
Inside, there's a sporty-looking interior with aluminum accents that mix in with black leather and suede surfaces, all tied together in the middle with an eight-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system. It looks great, and again, while we don't know anything regarding powertrain details, it makes us oh-so happy to see a manual shifter smack dab in the middle of the center console.
Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face.
