i have a 1959 bel air, fresh barn find, has plenty of rust and interior is rough, appears all the trim is with the car , No radiator in the car , recently removed, I have the title, it says original, It is a v 8 with a 4 barrell carburator, would be a good donor car for someone restoring one of these, ask questions before you bid, it is for sale locally only if there is no bids on the car on e bay.. so don't wait for the last second to snipe if your interested, I will sell locally again only if there is no bid from the e bay auction........ The engine turned over , but had no fire, I will get more pictures if needed, buying it as is, as a parts car, it has to be trailered only... please don't think with a little gas and a battery you can drive it home.... Trailered only........ a deposit is required , Thanks ask questions before you bid if my description is not thorough enough . will make a great donor car.. drivers side windows have damage , front and back glass are good.... PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]
Wed, 19 Jun 2013PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place. Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
