Car underwent a complete restoration 3 years ago that included New PPG Base Coat Clear Coat, New Interior, New 468 Big Block, Rebuilt T-10 4 Speed, Rebuilt 8.5 Rear, New Fuel System, New Brakes, New Suspension, New Glass, New Chrome, New Stainless and Emblems, New Wiring Harness, New Vintage A/C, just about everything was gone through and replaced, there has only been 3000 miles put on the car since restoration mostly driven to shows and a lot of trophies have been won.

Paint is PPG Base Coat Clear Coat, it was done right everything was removed taken down to metal and any rust which wasn’t much was cut out and metal was welded in, car is laser straight and has a showroom shine, no bondo, no waves, no rust, and all the gaps and panels align and fit as they should. All the weatherstrippings were replaced when the car was painted.

The 468 was Dynoed at 373 Horse and 417 Torque to the rear wheels and consists of the following components Carburetor is a Holley 750 with Mechanical Secondaries and was completely gone thru with #72 jets in the front and #79 jets intalled in the rear and all blue non-stick gaskets were used, Edelbrock Ceramic Intake, Oval Port Heads with Oversize Valves Installed, Comp 282 Duration .555 Lift Camshaft, Forged Crank, Forged H-Beam Connecting Rods, Forged Pistons, New Ceramic Headers, Mallory Ignition, new chrome 100 Amp alternator, March Brackets, Engine compartment is completely chromed out with stainless throughout, and always draws a large crowd, Vintage A/C was added for those hot Summer days and blows Ice-Cold. Chrome Fire Extinguisher was added and custom whistle horns. Brakes were converted to Disc and are all new and stop extremely well. Insulation was added to the hood as well to help cut down on the heat.

Trans is a complete rebuilt Super T-10 with 2.43 1st Gear, 1.61 2nd , 1.23 3rd , 1.00 4th, New High Performance Clutch, Pressure Plate, and Throwout Bearing were installed, Hurst Linkage with Hurst Shifter give it that old school shift, New Driveshaft was installed, Rear is a 8.5 that was completely redone with 3:27 Richmond Gears, Eaton Posi, Hardened Axles, Heavy Duty Bearings and Seals. With the 3:27 gears and T-10 the tall 4th gear is like overdrive.

Interior was completely redone with new seats front and rear, new gauges speedometer needs to be hooked up, new wiring harness was installed, new headliner, new door panels front and rear, Vintage A/C was added and blows ice cold, new carpet with new heat insulation, new package tray, new vintage style radio with modern FM was added with new speakers, new emblems and new modern seatbelts were added for safety.

All the lenses were replaced, Chrome and Stainless were replaced and are in superb condition and show minimal wear, the back bumper shows very minor surface rust and the corner shows slight sun fade but not really noticeable I am just picky but as you can tell from the pictures it is still extremely nice and not noticeable, all the glass was replaced with custom etching done on the passenger windows. All the emblems and interior trim were done in 14K Gold plating and look amazing even the Chevrolet V emblem on the trunk was done in 14K Gold and third brake light incorporated.

Entire fuel system was replaced with new gas tank, new fuel lines front to back, new Holley blue electric fuel pump, new Holley regulator, and the carb was completely gone through as mentioned earlier.

Cooling system consists of custom built 5 Quart radiator with heavy-duty water pump, new hoses, new electric fan was added because of Vintage A/C, doesn’t run hot never got above 200 with A/C on in rush hour traffic.

Full 3”exhaust with crossover and Flowmaster 3 chamber 50 series mufflers give it that deep rumble and with the cam everyone turns to look at this beauty, if you do not like attention you will not like this car.

Suspension was all redone with all new bushings, completely rebuilt front end, new heavy duty 5 leaf springs in rear, new front disc brakes as mentioned earlier were added, new shocks and springs, etc. New Period Correct Smoothies were just installed with New Tires.

Underneath is super solid as is the trunk and floor pans, any rust was cut out and replaced correctly which wasn’t much, and then the entire undercarriage was painted jet black and cleared over to preserve it.

I have 3 folders full of paperwork and receipts that go with the car including all the original Manuals and Instructions for everything installed.

I will let the 85 pictures do the talking from here but you will not find a nicer 57 Chevy for the money, if you have been in the market for one you do not want to overlook this gem. Any questions call Frank 863-381-3499 I have a clear Florida title in my name, I welcome and encourage local inspections as the car is as advertised, as with any classic it is sold as-is. I have owned this car for 3 years and bought it right after it was restored, it is coming out of my personal collection and only reason for selling it is I just got a 1960 Corvette and want to finish it out. Once again you will not find a nicer Tri-Five Chevy for the money, good luck bidding and thanks for viewing.

Someone has already test driven the 2016 Chevy Volt

Mon, Aug 24 2015

Due to some well-placed connections at General Motors Canada headquarters in Oshawa, a senior member of the gm-volt.com forum with the handle "kickincanada" got about 30 minutes behind the wheel of a 2016 Chevrolet Volt. Kickincanada owns a 2012 Volt, and other than personal reservations over the styling of the new car, he came way nothing but impressed by the second-generation hybrid. He drove the Premier trim, posted his observations on the site, then answered questions for other owners desperate to find out what's coming. He said the interior materials are "more upscale," there is less hard plastic and better leather, the seats are more comfortable, and ergonomically, "Everything is beautifully laid out." Although obviously not as luxurious, the interior reminded him of the Cadillac ELR. Tech touches like a better display, Apple integration, a wireless charging area for the phone, heated rear seats, and a better rear console were also worth noting. As for driving, Kickincanada called it "incredible." The "much more luxurious drive" comes courtesy of a "firm and sporty" suspension setup, less NVH thanks to more sound insulation, quieter Michelin Energy Saver tires, and quieter operation of the genset ICE. He said acceleration from a standstill felt quicker because there was no delay between applying the throttle and the car taking off. He estimates owners should be able to get about 100 kilometers (62 miles) out of the electric mode alone on a full charge, and that the new Volt is "clearly improved in almost every way" (the car's official range, as determined by the EPA, is 53 electric miles). We look forward to finding out ourselves. Click through to gm-volt to read all of his thoughts and responses if there's a hybrid purchase in your future. Related Video:

Since 2010, Chevy Volt has outsold Nissan Leaf by just two units

Tue, Mar 3 2015

The first two plug-in vehicles from major automakers in the US were the Chevy Volt and the Nissan Leaf. Ever since they went on sale to much fanfare in late 2010, we've been tracking the monthly sales with great interest (and, of course, other green vehicle sales as well). After a big initial lead by the Volt – the Volt outsold the Leaf 23,461 to 9,819 in 2012 – the Leaf has been chugging along and outsold the Volt every month since November 2013. We knew that the cumulative totals would soon tip in favor of the Leaf, but for at least one more month, the Volt is going to be able to say its the most popular plug-in vehicle in the US. Overall, for all officially reported sales of the Leaf and the Volt, things are almost exactly tied. Since the vehicles went on sale in the end of 2010 until the end of February 2015, the Volt has sold 74,592 units and the Leaf has sold ... drumroll please ... 74,590 units. For February, Leaf sales totaled 1,198 units, a 17-percent drop from the 1,425 Leafs sold last February. Brendan Jones, Nissan's director of Electric Vehicle Sales and Infrastructure, said in a statement that, "Tough winter weather in several key markets held EV sales back in February. As we head into spring, we look forward to seeing more dealership traffic so shoppers can experience firsthand the benefits of the all-electric Nissan Leaf." Of course, it was cold in the US last February, too, but we're sure that the nasty weather did indeed play a role last month. Things were even worse for the Chevy Volt, which dropped to just 693 copies sold, down 47 percent from the 1,210 sold last year. That's just barely enough for Chevy to keep talking about its plug-in sales leadership, but we expect the message to change once the March numbers come out next month. Related Video:

IIHS: High numbers of drivers treat partially automated cars as fully self-driving

Tue, Oct 11 2022

WASHINGTON — Drivers using advanced driver assistance systems like Tesla Autopilot or General Motors Super Cruise often treat their vehicles as fully self-driving despite warnings, a new study has found. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), an industry funded group that prods automakers to make safer vehicles, said on Tuesday a survey found regular users of Super Cruise, Nissan/Infiniti ProPILOT Assist and Tesla Autopilot "said they were more likely to perform non-driving-related activities like eating or texting while using their partial automation systems than while driving unassisted." The IIHS study of 600 active users found 53% of Super Cruise, 42% of Autopilot and 12% of ProPILOT Assist owners "said that they were comfortable treating their vehicles as fully self-driving." About 40% of users of Autopilot and Super Cruise — two systems with lockout features for failing to pay attention — reported systems had at some point switched off while they were driving and would not reactivate. "The big-picture message here is that the early adopters of these systems still have a poor understanding of the technologyÂ’s limits," said IIHS President David Harkey. The study comes as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is scrutinizing Autopilot crashes. Since 2016, the NHTSA has opened 37 special investigations involving 18 deaths in crashes involving Tesla vehicles and where systems like Autopilot were suspected of use. Tesla did not respond to requests for comment. Tesla says Autopilot does not make vehicles autonomous and is intended for use with a fully attentive driver who is prepared to take over. GM, which in August said owners could use Super Cruise on 400,000 miles (643,740 km) of North American roads and plans to offer Super Cruise on 22 models by the end of 2023, did not immediately comment. IIHS said advertisements for Super Cruise focus on hands-free capabilities while Autopilot evokes the name used in passenger airplanes and "implies TeslaÂ’s system is more capable than it really is." IIHS in contrast noted ProPILOT Assist "suggests that itÂ’s an assistance feature, rather than a replacement for the driver." NHTSA and automakers say none of the systems make vehicles autonomous. Nissan said its name "is clearly communicating ProPILOT Assist as a system to aid the driver, and it requires hands-on operation.
