UP FOR SALE IS A PRETTY DECENT 1951 CHEVY SEDAN DELIVERY WAGON. THIS CAR HAD BEEN SITTING IN A BACKYARD FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS IN A NICE, DRY CALIFORNIA NEIGHBORHOOD. THE GENTLEMAN THAT OWNED THE CAR FOR OVER 40 YEARS PASSED AWAY, AND I PURCHASED IT FROM HIS DAUGHTER. THE BODY ON THE CAR IS PRETTY DECENT CONSIDERING IT IS OVER 60 YEARS OLD. IT COMES WITH A SIX CYLINDER MOTOR AND THREE SPEED TRANSMISSION. I HAVE NOT TRIED TO START THE CAR. THE CAR HAS VERY MINOR RUST ON IT THAT WILL NOT BE A CONCERN FOR SOMEBODY LOOKING TO MAKE A COOL HOT ROD. THE CAR IS IN THE LOS ANGELES AREA. I CAN HELP WITH SHIPPING TO PRETTY MUCH ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. RATES TO YOUR DOOR ARE PRETTY FAIR. $600 - $800 SHOULD GET IT TO ALMOST ANYWHERE IN THE STATES OR TO THE CANADIAN BORDER. I CAN STORE THE CAR FOR UP TO THIRTY DAYS FREE OF CHARGE. AFTER THAT THE COST WILL BE 80 DOLLARS/MONTH. I DO HAVE IT LISTED FOR SALE LOCALLY, SO THE AUCTION CAN END AT ANYTIME, WHICH DOES HAPPEN OFTEN. I HAVE A DMV TITLE REPLACEMENT FORM AS WELL AS A BILL OF SALE. THE CAR IS BEING SOLD AS IS NO WARRANTY . THESE ARE GETTING HARDER TO FIND AND THIS CAR BEING FROM CALIFORNIA MEANS A LOT WHEN WANTING TO RESTORE ONE OF THESE CLASSICS. IF YOU NEED ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, PLEASE GIVE ME A CALL AT (310) 990-8628. THANK-YOU FOR LOOKING AT MY AUCTION. |

Race Recap: 2013 Twelve Hours of Sebring, cakewalk up front, grindfest out back [w/spoilers]
Tue, 19 Mar 2013This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...
Mother's Day Suggestion No. 2,506
Thu, 02 May 2013With Mother's Day coming up, we're always looking for new gift ideas to celebrate the occasion, but hot laps around a track might not be the best suggestion for Darius Khashabi. In a video posted on YouTube, Khashabi straps his mom into the passenger seat of his C6 Corvette Z06 for some laps around Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway) at "60 percent" with comical results.
Now this isn't the first time Mama Khashabi has gotten seat time in her son's car around a track, as his YouTube page shows him pulling a similar stunt - with similar results - around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year. Scroll down for the video, but know that the action really gets going at around the 1:40 mark.
GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices
Mon, 21 Oct 2013The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.
