1977 Cadillac Seville, 4-door Sedan, 350 fuel injected engine and 3-Speed Transmission.  This car is an original Silicon Valley CA car, it has 187,502 miles on it, when I purchased the car in 1979 it had less than 10k miles on it.  The Seville body is very straight and the trim and chrome are very good.  The car has not been in a collision, but it was bumped on the driver side on a parking lot which resulted in dints on the front fender and driver door. The fender was replaced and the door damage repaired prior to whole car repainting in 2006 using original color Nason one step paint, the paint is GM 95, "Buckskin F/M Effect".  The landou top was primed well and repainted  in original color and it locks almost like new now. A ring and valve job was done on the engine in 1996 and it has about 50k miles on it since that time, it runs great, does not use oil, and it has plenty of power.  The transmission was rebuilt in 2008 to fix excessive oil leaks and it shifts great now.  The interior is basically the same as when the car was new except that the driver's seat show signs of wear and could be reparired to show condition if desired in the future.  The driver side carpet also shows sign of wear.  The car being a CA car has no rust, it has been garaged most of the time in the early years in my posession, but lately it has been stored under cover outside because of lack of garage space.  Equipment and gadgets that came with the car originally are all there and are mostly functional.  I will point out that the automatic trunk lock mechanism was disconnected and put aside under the trunk carpet, the passenger side rear view side mirror is not adjustable from the dash control, the dash clock does not work, the A/C works when control arm is set mannually to the right but the automatic temperature control feature is not working probably because a sensor has failed.  I purchased this car in 1979 from a private owner that was having finansial problems.  The car was driven mostly by my wife for more than 15 years while commuting to her job here in Silicon Valley area.  The Siville model was introduced for 1976 by GM when the public started to look for a smaller Cadillac. It became an enoemously popular and sucessful car, it sold very well in the US market.  I do believe  that not many of these cars are still on the road today and available for purchase in today's enviornment with high gas prices, it may become a popular and much wanted classic car in the future.  The reason I am selling the car is that I am running out of space on my property, I have bought several 1960 Chevrolets that I am restoring as a hobby.  I would be happy to provide additional information on the car if you are interested.  The buyer must arrange for transportation if out of the area.  I require a deposit of $200 within 48 hr  of purchase and full payment within 7 days.  Happy Bidding!

Opel director Sedran to succeed Docherty as Chevy Europe boss

Wed, 26 Jun 2013

When longtime General Motors executive Susan Docherty announced she would be stepping down from her post as the head of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe, there was some idle chatter that plans for the creation of a new global overseer position for the Bowtie brand was behind the move. And while US sales chief Alan Batey has indeed assumed control of Chevy worldwide since her departure announcement, Docherty's vacancy is being filled after all, with Opel chief strategist Thomas Sedran taking up the reins.
That's according to Automotive News, who reports that Sedran will be tasked with pulling Chevy out of a sales funk, much of it pegged on Europe's stagnant auto industry, which has sunk to a 20-year low. AN notes that Chevy's EU sales plunged 32 percent to 57,584 units through the first five months of 2013, but the everyday value brand is faring worlds better than Cadillac, which has sold just 167 units in Europe over the same time period.
Sedran, 48, has been in the auto industry for over 20 years. Most recently, at Opel he had been working on long-term plans for the marque, and was appointed to the brand's management board in April of last year. Prior to joining GM, Sedran was employed as a management consultant for AlixPartners, where he worked closely with Opel for six years. Sedran will assume his new duties beginning July 1.

Cadillac ATS Coupe headed for Detroit reveal

Mon, 25 Nov 2013

Cadillac wouldn't be Cadillac without its two-door models. But the XLR has been discontinued for over four years now, the Elmiraj concept may never see production and the future of the CTS Coupe is still up in the air. That leaves just the ELR, which may not be conventional enough for traditional Cadillac coupe buyers. Fortunately a new coupe is coming along to fill the void.
According to Edmunds, Cadillac will reveal the new ATS coupe just a couple of months from now at the Detroit Auto Show. Expected to mechanically mirror the existing ATS sedan, the new coupe will also more conventionally resemble its four-door counterpart than the CTS, whose coupe version was distinguished by a rakishly sloping roofline.
Expect the same choice of engines to carry over, with a 2.5-liter four serving as the base engine, and both a 2.0-liter turbo four and a 3.6-liter V6 offering more power for those looking for that extra bit of oomph. Following the Detroit reveal, sources anticipate the ATS coupe to go on sale next summer.

2013 Cadillac XTS [w/video]

The Cadillac Of Stopgaps
As confusing as most alphanumeric car names have gotten in recent years, at least one constant has been that the letter "X" is generally indicative of a crossover. Then why did General Motors use this letter on its new 2013 Cadillac XTS luxury sedan? Well, for that, we'll have to look to the world of mathematics where "X" stands for an unknown variable or a placeholder. Now we're talking. The XTS is just an interim product sitting at the top of Cadillac's four-door food chain until the brand gets a true flagship in place. That sounds like a lot of resources to spend on what will likely be a one-and-done model, but the automaker needed to get something - anything - to replace the DTS.
So here you have the 2013 XTS. A big luxury sedan that was created to bridge the gap between Cadillac's recent past and its pending future. Going into our week with this XTS knowing that it was a stopgap measure proved to be both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, we know (or hope) that this car will act as a baseline for future high-end Cadillac models, but at the same time, we couldn't help but be mindful of past stopgap models, albeit in more entry-level segments, like the Cimarron and Catera.
