This beautiful car has been in a garage since 1976 untouched and unmolested,a true time capsule,The chrome has some patina but is all straight and shiny,The paint is shiny and appears to be original with only a couple scratches and dings from the years of storage. The car is equipped with the original T3 headlights. The hubcaps are all there and in nice shape. The car still has original style bias ply tires with good tread but have flat spots due to the long term storage. The interior is near mint with no rips, tears, burns or  foul odors. The trunk is very clean and in great shape with the original jack and a spare tire. There is no rot anywhere on this car,The underside is clean and straight with no visible signs of prior collisions. The odometer shows 25k and is believed to be original,The engine had seized due to condensation during the long term storage.Upon disassembly I found the cylinders to have surface rust.I honed the cylinders and freed up the engine.A valve job was done while the heads were off and a new top end gasket kit installed. The  carburetor was cleaned and the engine runs but has low compression and extreme blowby so it will need to be rebuilt or replaced. The transmission operates fine and the brakes work well in a yard drive but I have not road driven it due to the engines blowby. This car is truly a rare find after having been preserved for so long. The car is currently registered and I have paperwork on hand to transfer ownership. Please feel free to ask any questions /or come and inspect it for yourself if possible.I require a $500.00 deposit within 24 hours of the end of the auction. Please only bid if you have the funds. Thanks for looking.

General Motors shaking up its marketing... again

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")

Cadillac prepares to top its own 'Ring record with upcoming new CTS-V

Mon, 14 Jul 2014

It was a big deal back in 2008 when the original Cadillac CTS-V clocked a lap time of 7:59 at the Nürburgring, making it the fastest sedan ever to lap the Nordschleife to that date. Not many four-doors have bested that time since - the list consisting pretty much only of the Porsche Panamera Turbo - but now hot hatches are lapping faster than that, so you can bet that the new one will manage an even better time.
Now we've spotted the upcoming new CTS-based performance sedan several times before undergoing testing in locations around the world, but this is the first time we've seen it at the Nürburgring, apparently using the Goodyear Dunlop test facility as its base of operations (and still wearing Michigan manufacturer plates, incidentally). Considering how well the outgoing CTS-V performed and how much further you can bet Cadillac will push the envelop this time around, a new sedan lap record is almost a certainty - and we can only hope for an all-out war between Europe's performance sedan power houses to ensue.

Corvette's Performance Data Recorder headed to other cars, will Cadillac ATS-V be first?

Fri, 14 Nov 2014

For 2015, the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray gained a novel piece of high-performance technology: The Performance Data Recorder. This trick system combines video from a front-mounted camera with in-car data and GPS information to help drivers record and study their lap times, complete with data overlays. While it's a clever tool for track days, it's also finding popularity as a built-in dash cam of sorts. To this point, the technology has been a Corvette exclusive, but General Motors' executive vice president of global product development, Mark Reuss, has confirmed to Autoblog that it will soon be available in other vehicles.
At a media luncheon on Thursday, we asked whether GM was keen to expand usage of the technology to other models, and if we could expect to see something soon. Reuss coyly replied, "What's soon?" When we suggested the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V (which is scheduled to debut at next week's LA Auto Show), he replied, "There will be other uses, and it won't be that far away. How's that?"
Certainly not an outright confirmation, but we wouldn't be at all surprised to see the next high-po Cadillac roll under the klieg lights at the Los Angeles Convention Center next Wednesday brandishing more than just 450 horsepower.
