I bought this car to restore, and drive while I did it, but I hurt my back and have decided to sell it because I never feel like working on it any more and it is hard for me to get in and out of.  I have put new tires, touch screen computer, coil pack, and ignition mod on it and I've driven it about 700 miles.  The things that are wrong with it don't keep it from being driven safely and they are the ABS and break light are on some times ( I think it is a sensor but not sure breaks seem fine ), the clear coat  is peeling, the passenger window doesn't work and the door panel could use new plastic clip retainers, and the lights have to be put up manually.  The interior shows normal wear on a 26 year old car.  Feel free to set up a time to look at it or ask any questions. BUYER MUST PICK UP and payment in cash at time of pick up within a week of auction ending.  This is a 1988 not a 1987 sorry I looked at the title of the car after I put in the title and could not figure out how to change it.

2015 Buick Verano offered with six-speed manual after all

Mon, 09 Jun 2014

Good news, boys and girls (well, at least those of you who still like shifting for yourselves). Buick got in touch with us to correct some information that it had mistakenly announced; namely, that the 2015 Verano will lose its optional six-speed manual transmission. Apparently, that announcement was incorrect, and the compact sedan will indeed continue to offer a manual option for 2015, despite what we're certain is a low take rate. Additionally, the Desert Dusk Metallic paint that was said to come as part of an Appearance Package is no longer part of the deal. With that out of the way, we now return you to your regularly scheduled automotive-obsessive broadcast...

What's in a trademark? Sometimes, the next iconic car name

Thu, 07 Aug 2014

The United States Patent and Trademark Office is a treasure trove for auto enthusiasts, especially those who double as conspiracy theorists.
Why has Toyota applied to trademark "Supra," the name of one of its legendary sports cars, even though it hasn't sold one in the United States in 16 years? Why would General Motors continue to register "Chevelle" long after one of the most famous American muscle cars hit the end of the road? And what could Chrysler possibly do with the rights to "313," the area code for Detroit?

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.
