So I’m not going to dwell into the history of M Motorsport or why the M3 is a worthy investment. I figure if you’re looking at this ad you pretty much know what the car is and why you should buy it.  Let’s address what I believe to be problem areas with my car.

The CON’s:
- Temperamental sunroof.
- Coffee stain on carpet behind driver’s seat.
- Alignment.
- 3 minor dings on hood.
- 1 paint chip on front right fender.
- Scratches on front bumper and 5" scuff to the left rear bumper.*
- Weathered rear spoiler, paint cracking.*
- Missing 1” tow hook cover, (Purchased replacement cover needs only repainting.)*
- Aged front original seats, worn not torn.
- 136,837 miles on original motor.
- Aftermarket Alpine radio.
- Aftermarket Nardi steering wheel.
- Aftermarket AC Schnitzer pedals.
- Irritating young photographers if you don’t like the attention.

*- can have bumpers, rear spoiler, and replacement tow hook cover repainted for additional $900. I left them unpainted so as not to deceive the new buyer.

The PRO’s:
- California Car from Day 1.
- Clean title.
- No Rust.
- Smogged and Registered.
- Bonafide 1990 M3. Factory 212hp. The last of the E30 M3's sold in the state of California. 91’s never brought into CA.

Please do not:
1. Bid on this vehicle if you first need to sell your old car to then transfer funds to pay for this one (reason why I am forced to re-list this vehicle)
2. Ask me what the buy it now price to have me take the vehicle off of this auction. I've received offers higher than my asking and if the auction ends with a price below what I've been offered, I am completely happy with that. I just want everyone to have a fair chance bidding this vehicle. For this exact reason I am not setting a reserve on the vehicle.

Popular Science magazine's Best Of What's New 2012 all ate up with cars

Tue, 20 Nov 2012

Popular Science has named the winners in its Best of What's New awards, the victors coming in the categories of aerospace, automotive, engineering, entertainment, gadgets, green, hardware, health, home, recreation, security and software. The automotive category did not go wanting for lauded advancements:
Tesla Model S: the Grand Award winner for being "the standard by which all future electric vehicles will be measured."
BMW 328i: it's 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gets called out for being more powerful and frugal than the six-cylinder it replaces.

Alpina B4 coupe will be your subtle M4

Sat, 14 Sep 2013

We're big fans of Alpina here at Autoblog - the BMW tuner has created some seriously delicious products in the past, and recently tuned the diesel-powered 3 Series wagon to create the D3 Bi-Turbo. What we like most about Alpina is how the cars only look subtly more aggressive than stock, yet they pack a real wallop under the hood.
Take this B4 Coupe, recently spotted testing at the Nürburgring. It looks pretty tame compared to the normal 435i, the only visual additions being the Alpina-standard 21-spoke wheels, modified front lip and rear wing spoiler. But under the hood, Alpina is reportedly working on a tuned, twin-turbo straight-six that produces something like 410 horsepower. That means the B4 should be good for a 0-62 time of 4.2 seconds, with a top speed around 190 mph. Rear-wheel drive will be standard, though our spies suggest that Alpina could also use all-wheel drive here in the B4.
We have no doubt that the next BMW M4 will be super hot, but for those seeking a bit more stealth and exclusivity, this Alpina B4 certainly looks the business. Check it out in our gallery above.

Meet the inventor of the BMW 3 Series wagon

Sat, 11 May 2013

It's hard to imagine, but once upon a time, there were only two BMW 3 Series variants: the coupe and sedan. Back before gran coupes, convertibles and yes, even touring models were available, buyers could only get their 3 Series fix if it came with two or four doors and a fixed roof. Back in the mid '80s, BMW engineer Max Reisbock was having some trouble fitting his whole family into his four door. Rather than suck it up and buy a van, he picked up a wrecked 3 Series and got to cutting in a buddy's garage. Months later, he had the very first 3 Series Touring ever built.
At first, he kept the the car to himself, using it to haul friends and family around, but he eventually showed it off to his friends at work. When the BMW executives found out about his project, they called him up to take a closer look. After putting an eyeball on the car, they took it, copied his design, made a few tweaks and quickly rolled out the first production 3 Series Touring. How's that for validation? Check out the video below for Reisbock's story.
