I have had this BMW for last four years, absolutely love it, has been a weekend and sunny weather pleasure drive vehicle for me and the wife, the exterior of the vehicle is beautiful black finish with minimal natural wear for a 1997 model, the interior black leather is in great shape with no scratches or damage. I have upgraded the wheels to the 17" BMW originals with new tires with less than a 1000 miles on them, I do have the original 16" wheels and tires available if the winning bidder is interested. The engine runs like new and it has had regular service. This car is a real head turner and a last year of production of its model, a real 1990's excess, it is a autobahn cruiser with a muscle car power. As I have indicated above the car has a reconstructed title, from the information I have gathered, a fender bender resulted in, replacement of, driver side fender , turn signal/ fog lamp, and driver side door, because of the year and the high cost of replacement parts insurance decided on a write off . There is no damage anywhere to be found and the car is perfect . This car has it all, even traction and stability control, unheard of in 97' vehicles. I am so confident of this car , I am offering a one week return option to the winning bidder - only- if he/she did not have chance to inspect the car prior to auction close and finds any serious issue with the vehicle, return is only for a damage existing prior to sale, and will not be honored just because you change your mind or don't like the car anymore, less the $500 deposit. The MID display (in the pictures) is loosing pixels a fix is $130, I just did not have time to take care of it. The car just had a Pennsylvania inspection good till 10/14, new batteries installed in March 12', brakes done April 13' I also strongly encourage you to inspect the car prior to bidding if you can. Mercedes says it's tops in luxury sales for 2012, not BMW
Tue, 19 Feb 2013It turns out that Mercedes-Benz North America has legitimate claim to being the top selling luxury nameplate in the US in 2012.
While sources such as Autodata had put BMW in the top spot, registration data from R.L. Polk shows that Mercedes customers registering new vehicles topped the Bavarian automaker in the most recent calendar year. Polk says Benz posted 274,123 registrations, compared with BMW's 268,498.
In terms of sales posted, BMW had bested Benz 281,460 to 274,134. But sales are recorded somewhat inconsistently from automaker to automaker. Some book the sales as soon as they are shipped from factory to dealer. There is perennial gamesmanship between the two German rivals, and the sales numbers suggest that BMW pushed out some extra sheetmetal to dealers in the last four weeks of the year.

This all started back in 2007 when the megacity urbanization trend hit full stride and BMW began brainstorming the 2020 future of mobility. The product was thus originally called the BMW MegaCity vehicle. Then the 'i' division of BMW was officially born in 2011, and we have since been exposed to various "leaked" images and official prototype unveilings of both this i3 and the i8 eco sports car. The latter (called i12 in the halls of Munich) was originally called the Concept Vision Efficient Dynamics and presented as a diesel-hybrid.
The time is now upon us for the market launch of the plug-in i3 (called i01 internally). The wider motoring public already has its opinions and BMW is listening to all of them, so there's a bundle of nerves around these limited drives of the i3 for a select few members of the media, Autoblog included. We came to an airfield outside of Munich and were handed an i3 test car to drive around a set course filled with blue- and white-striped cones. BMW tech experts were everywhere and some of the discussions around the various technical displays even got a little heated.
