THIS PLACE IS JUST LOOKING TO MAKE YOU PAY FOR THINGS YOU DON`T NEED AND OVERCHARGE YOU!!!! YOU`VE BEEN WARNED!!!!! I recently went to Merchant`s to get a simple front brake pad change and had the worst experience at an auto shop. They had told me that it would be $99 to get new breaks a week earlier when I brought my car in to get an oil change but when I brought it in for brakes the manager Jeff said it would be... view more over $200. Also, they quoted me for a bunch of other thing for around $1500, which included changing the filter that filters the air coming into the inside car which didn`t need to be changed. After arguing just the price of the 2 brake pads I was able to get it down to $110. Then when I went to pick up the car they charged me for the break pads, which were supposed to be free with a special promotion they had going on. My bill was $140 which included my $25 off coupon. After seeing that I told Jeff I wanted my money back for over charging me and all he gave me was a free oil change coupon. THEN, my brakes still squeaked for 3 weeks after they installed them so I had to bring my car back in to get it fixed.

Merchant`s Tire in Kernersville not trustworthy

We took our car there to have a problem fixed. One service listed says they performed a 3 step fuel system cleaning. A couple of months later, the same problem happened again, we took it to the dealer instead this time. Dealer told us the fuel system was very dirty and they had to do the same cleaning again. I doubt that Merchant`s in Kernersville actually performed the fuel system cleaning or they probably just d... view moreidn`t do a good job at all. My experience is they use appealing oil-change price to lure you in then tell you that your car needs hundreds of dollars of service. I definitely would NOT recommend this place!

They are nice to you there, but it is only because they want to sell you lots of repairs you don`t need. Females, if you don`t know a whole lot about your car, watch out - they will give you a whole list of repairs that "need" to be done, when the truth is, you don`t need most of them. Go to someone who is reputable - ask around, because if you do your homework, you will find that Merchant`s in Kernersvil... view morele is not an honest business.

Merchant`s Tires in Kernersville is only out for your money!

Went to them for an oil change, but came home with a huge list of repairs - which I know for a fact didn`t need to be done. They wanted almost $2000 for repairs that were not even necessary!!! Shady business practices - watch out.

Do not recommend Merchant`s Tire in Kernersville

I have purchased several tire sets from Merchant`s in Kernersville over several years and have had good experiences.

However, I recently took my Toyota Solara with less than 18000 miles there for an oil change/tire rotation. I sat in the lobby for over 1 hour without any news of my vehicle service. I inquired at the desk about how much longer the work would take. After another several minutes, I was informed ... view morethat several other items on my vehicle needed attention. One item was a fuel system cleaning (?) for $89.99 and I feel the other items proposed were simply revenue generating work. My Toyota is like new and I did not request any other work.

After declining this work, the car was removed from the workshop. I settled the bill and exited the premises.
A few miles down the road, my tire pressure monitoring device alarmed. I immediately returned the vehicle to Merchant`s because I had never experienced this alarm. In a few minutes, the technician came to the vehicle, showed my how to reset and clear the alarm, and I was told everything was then ok.

Upon leaving the second time, the alarm went off again. I reset the alarm myself and visually checked the tires. My tires appeared to be OK.

A few days later I returned to Merchant`s, explained the experience, and asked if someone could check my tire monitoring system. I was told a technician would be available in about an hour and the problem was likely a failed sensor. I was unable to wait this long and I felt me and my vehicle were not given proper attention.

I will no longer expect Merchant`s to fix this problem. I will drive my car with the alarm on until I can get someone else to fix it.

I will not return to Merchant`s in Kernersville with any of my business for the following reasons.
- poor customer service
- long waits for service
- too much emphasis on additional revenue generating repairs
- lack of competent service

I do not recommend Merchant`s Tire in Kernersville to anyone.
