Hello, I have for sale a 1995 Mitsubishi 3000 GT that is a one owner car. It was purchased in 1995 and we have all
the original paper work including the window sticker. The car has been driven very little thus it only has 11,142
miles on it. The car is in like new condition. The protective bra was installed to protect the front end from
chips. The paint and finish are just like it was when it left the dealer in 1995. The interior smells like a new
car. This is truly a time capsule in every way. Below is some information about the 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT
Second generation models are identified by a revised front bumper . The caps on the hood were
replaced with integrated blisters, and the side air vents and rear bumpers were modified. The interior was
redesigned with dual air bags, a new audio system, and revised air conditioning refrigerant. The engines in the
twin-turbo models received a slight boost in torque from 307 lb·ft (416 N·m) to 315 lb·ft (427 N·m).
With the all wheel drive advantage, blasting the 1/4 mile at 107 mph in 13.0 seconds.
To complement this, the VR-4 now included a six-speed Getrag Bigger wheel/tire combinations were provided beginning in
1995. The base and SL model received 16" wheels in silver or chrome with 225/55 tires, while the VR4 now had 18"
chrome wheels with 245/40 tires (the Spyder had the standard 17" with higher profile tires from 1994 to handle the
additional 400 lb (180 kg)).
As the price of the cars increased, many of the "gadgets" on the car were discontinued. The tunable exhaust was
phased out after model year 1994, the ECS disappeared after the 1995 model year, and the active aerodynamics
disappeared after 1996. Finally, Chrysler ceased sales of the Dodge Stealth captive import, and for the remainder
of its life only Mitsubishi-badged versions were available.
Mitsubishi had produced a number of limited edition 3000GT VR4 convertibles. The rare special edition was known as
the Spyder VR4. Only 877 were imported to America. When the Spyder was released, it never reached the European and
Japanese market. The United States had their own version of the VR4. These cars were modified to be convertibles in
the United States by ASC Corporation. The U.S and the Mitsubishi factories worked with another company to convert
the 3000GTs into a hard-top convertible. The Spyder was one of very few hard-tops to release in the United States.
The Spyder was released in 1995 and ended production in 1996. In 1995 Mitsubishi's 3000GT Spyder was available in 4
different combinations: carson red w/ grey leather interior, sable black w/ ivory leather interior, glacier white
pearl w/ grey, and martinique yellow pearl w/ ivory leather interior. In 1996 the 3000GT Spyder was available in
four different options: caracas red w/tan interior, solano black pearl w/ tan leather, glacier white pearl w/ tan
leather interior, and pamana green pearl w/ tan leather. Its many unique color options, and hard-top convertible
gave the vehicle a unique history, and created a cosmetic impact in the auto industry. While the cosmetics of the
Spyder VR4 made it unique, its framework differed. The Spyder’s frame and bodywork was similar to their brothers,
the 3000GT SL and VR4 models. The Spyder model had its disadvantages over the VR4 and SL, due to heavy brackets
under the body. The extra weight under the body interfered with the handling. Due to slow sales of these vehicles,
Mitsubishi decided to discontinue the 3000GT VR4 Spyder. The SL Spyder's were only available in an automatic
transmission where the VR4 Spyder was only available in a 6 speed manual.
Japan's automotive design is usually driven by the pursuit of efficiency, agility and lightness. At the same time,
however, there's a definite obsession with technology: making everything electronic, inventing neat new gadgets and
generally providing complex answers to simple questions. For a perfect example of the latter philosophy, look no
further than the Mitsubishi 3000GT.

Mitsubishi Evo successor on hold?

Fri, 22 Nov 2013

Just take one look at Mitsubishi's latest vehicles, both concept and production, and it's obvious that fuel economy - not performance - reigns supreme. With this in mind, it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that Caradvice.com.au is suggesting that Mitsubishi is putting development of future performance models (like the 2013 Lancer Evolution GSR shown above) on hold as the company focuses on electric and plug-in vehicles.
In speaking with Mitsubishi managing director of product projects Ryugo Nakao at the Tokyo Motor Show, the publication says that the entire Lancer redesign is on hold, meaning that the aging Lancer Evo and Ralliart will have to contend with fresh performance models like the Volkswagen GTI and Subaru WRX. That being said, the article doesn't completely shut the door on another Evo - in fact, it goes on to indicate that when a new generation does hit the streets, it will almost certainly do so with some sort of electric-assisted powertrain, an oft-repeated rumor that got its legs as early as 2010.

2014 Mitsubishi Outlander earns Top Safety Pick+ award [w/video]

Fri, 02 Aug 2013

The Mitsubishi Outlander officially is a safe vehicle, earning a good rating in all of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash test categories - good enough for the agency to give it the Top Safety Pick+ award. The small sport utility vehicle's little sibling, the Outlander Sport, received the Top Safety Pick award earlier this year.
According to the IIHS, to earn the Top Safety Pick+ rating vehicles must be rated good in at least four out of the five crash tests (including the difficult small overlap front test) and earn no less than acceptable in the rear crash test. The Top Safety Pick rating requires that vehicles be rated good in the moderate overlap front, side, rollover and rear tests, but there's no minimum rating on the small overlap front crash test.
Mitsubishi designed the Outlander to have greater roof strength (the roof now can support up to five times the SUV's weight) and to withstand the moderate overlap front crash test and the recently introduced small overlap front crash test, both of which evaluate the ability of vehicles to protect their occupants in crashes that bypass the traditional front crumple zone. Crumple zones are designed into vehicles to allow them to deform in a way that protects passengers in the event of a crash. The Outlander was one of two small SUVs to earn a good rating in the small overlap test, the other being the 2014 Subaru Forester. The Subaru earned a Top Safety Pick rating.

2013 Pikes Peak Hill Climb, Practice Day 4

Fri, 28 Jun 2013

The fourth and final practice day of the 91st Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is complete. Tomorrow everyone will make any last-minute adjustments and get their cars, their bits and bobs lined up in the pits for Sunday morning's this-time-it-counts run.
The Unlimited runners took on the top section of the course today, Sébastien Loeb and his big-mouth Peugeot acing the practice test again with a time of 2:11. Rhys Millen's team proved its got the engine issues of two days ago in the Hyundai PM580T sorted out, posting the next-best time at 2:27.16. The reason we had to dip all the way into the hundredths for his time is because he nipped Romain Dumas by just .31 of them, the Frenchman in the Norma M20FC PP running the course in 2:27.47. In fourth came the Frenchman in the monster Mini, Jean-Philippe Dayraut six seconds back at 2:33.
Time Attack competitors, also on the upper section, were led by Paul Dallenbach in the Hyundai Genesis Coupe with a time of 2:36, Porsche pilot Jeff Zwart crossing the line six seconds later at 2:42, fellow Porsche driver David Donner coming in another six seconds back at 2:48. Dallenbach has topped three of the four practice-day sessions, sliding into the second spot behind Donner only on Practice Day 2.
