If you're looking for an RX-8, this is the one. New engine installed 5,000 miles ago by Mazda. If you have researched the RX8, then you know the original rotary engines often go out after 60-100k miles.
This car has been treated great, cosmetically and mechanically. Professionally detailed often and oil and all fluids and maintenance performed religiously. This car had an 8 year extended warranty so everything was always professionally dealer serviced.
While it was in for the new engine, it was given a thorough inspection for all other components and everything checked out good.
Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires, rear two are brand new, front two have good tread as well.
Starts right up with no flooding issues, I am not the original owner, but can say the car has always been started and stopped properly since the new engine. Basically not letting the car warm up over a long period of time is usually what led to many of the RX8 engine failures.
This car is a blast to drive and actually was the Sports Car of the Year when it came out. The handling and suspension is on par with high dollar exotic sports cars. Fully loaded, has every option that was available except obviously the rear spoiler. I prefer the cleaner look, but oem spoilers are available on ebay for less than you probably think.
The only thing I have planned other than regular maintenance if I was going to keep this car a while longer are the front rotors. They aren't bad and brake fine, and alot of people wouldn't notice but you can feel it slightly when breaking and hear them if you listen.
Other than that, this car is in amazing condition cosmetically and mechanically. No photo shopping on the photos, what you see is what you get.
Heat, AC, all power options, CD changer, etc, all work great. No quirks at all.
Any questions or if you want a photo from an angle I might have missed please contact me. I will be glad to arrange an in person inspection or test drive for serious buyers.

Scion FR-S pitted against oldtimers RX-8 and S2000
Tue, 07 May 2013There are very few vehicles available today that compare directly with the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ twins. A case could be made for the Mazda MX-5 Miata, and possibly even six-cylinder versions of American coupes like the Ford Mustang. Pretty much everything else is either too expensive or is powered by the wrong set of wheels.
The boys from EverydayDriver on YouTube decided the only fair way to judge the inherent qualities of the Toyobaru twins was to pit them against two standard-bearers of years past: The Honda S2000 and Mazda RX-8. Neither of these cars is an exact matchup, with the Honda boasting a convertible top and the RX-8 offering more practicality via a rear seat and two reverse-opening doors for easier access. What they do offer, however, are similar performance stats and proven reputations for excellent handling.
None of this talk answers the real question, though: Which one wins the comparison test? Scroll down to watch the video, and be prepared for something of a surprise conclusion.
First 2014 Mazda3 ad appears
Sat, 29 Jun 2013If we judge by your comments on our recent announcement post about the new Mazad3, you Autoblog readers approve, pretty wholeheartedly, about the redesign efforts happening over at Mazda. Pressed for an opinion, we'd be forced to admit that we find the new 3 quite fetching our own selves.
To add fuel to the fast-burning fire then, Mazda has gone ahead and dropped a 15-second pseudo commercial on YouTube, showing a very rendered Mazda3 in a very rendered driving environment. The short spot is really just slightly more dynamic than the images of the car, but there is a spot of mystery to it, as well.
Right at the start of the video, an interior shot of the car shows a transparent display screen of some kind, rising from the top of the 3's dash. An interesting choice, considering Mazda has bestowed an actual center-mounted display in on the hatchback's dash-top - albeit one that doesn't look like a clear piece of glass. Take a look below, and while you're there, check out a just-released official video of the Mazda3's reveal in New York.
Masamichi Kogai new Mazda president and CEO
Fri, 10 May 2013There's some executive rearranging going on in the top suite at Mazda Motor Corporation in Japan, with current CEO Takashi Yamanouchi telling reporters there "I'd like to hand over the work to younger people" now that the company has returned to profitability. Yamanouchi became CEO on November 19, 2008 of an independent Mazda that had to fight for its future in the immediate aftermath of the global financial crisis. What followed was four years of losses before finally getting back to black last year.
Masamichi Kogai (pictured) will be appointed the new president and CEO on June 25, pending approval at the company's annual general shareholders' meeting. Kogai assisted Seita Kanai with the production-efficiency initiative that Mazda called Mono Tsukuri Innovation, which worked to give export-dependent Mazda the best chance at profitability in spite of a rising yen. Kogai, lately in charge of production and purchasing, has been with the company since 1977 and worked in areas from R&D to logistics.
Kanai, who headed the Mono Tsukuri effort and was among the leadership on Skyactiv, will be promoted from executive vice president to vice chairman. Akira Marumoto will become executive VP of Mazda and assistant to new president Kogai. Yamanouchi will remain Chairman of the Board. There's a short press release below to make it official.
