2000 Land Rover Discovery Series Ii 4.0l on 2040-cars
Pocatello, Idaho, United States
Solid mechanical condition, just had new tires, brakes, and tuneup done @Beaulieu's Garage in Caribou Maine
Has less than 3000 miles on it since the work was performed. Cold A/C, hot heat in winter . Good traction in the winter. 6 disc changer, Cruise Control, 2 sun roofs, all working. Spare is new as well as the rest of the tires. The only things to report is that the front passenger window is sticking a bit. Needs a new cog for the power window motor (the whole assembly is less than $50 on ebay, or at a junk yard). Also there are some bumps on the bumpers, and a dent in the passenger side rear quarter panel from when my wife backed into a pole. I have pictures attached to document it. Also there is a small tare in the leather seat on the drivers seat. Its about 2 or 3 inches, not too bad. You can see that the gloss clear coat is fading a bit too. We installed a stock jump seat in the rear, giving it 6 seats. Must sell due to medical bills. See pictures for more details. Ask any questions that you have before bidding. If you want to take it for a test drive it is at 538 South Main, Pocatello Idaho Call Kim before you come, and we can arrange to meet you; 509-570-8887 (or leave us an email via ebay) |

Jaguar Land Rover may build factory in Saudi Arabia
Tue, 11 Dec 2012The Middle East is one of the fastest-growing markets for Land Rover, so it makes sense that the automaker is looking to set up shop in the region. According to Automotive News, Jaguar Land Rover is in talks with the people of Saudi Arabia to build a factory in the country at an expected initial cost of $1.2 billion. Still in the early stage of talks, the proposed facility could start up by 2017 using locally sourced materials such as steel and aluminum.
Such an arrangement could be beneficial for both entities as Saudi Arabia looks to diversify its oil-reliant economy and Land Rover could get local production capacity of around 50,000 units. The report also says that the agreement talks about the possibility for Jaguar models to be built at the same plant further down the road.
This won't be the first vehicle produced in Saudi Arabia - that honor goes to the KSU Gazal-1 - but it will be the first from a major global automaker.
Jaguar Land Rover and Chery investing in Chinese plant
Sat, 24 Nov 2012While the European auto market for Jaguar and Land Rover is waning, Chinese car buyers can't get enough of the British marques. To meet that demand, Tata Motors, parent company of Jag and Land Rover, is partnering with Chinese automaker Chery Automobile Co.
The two announced plans to invest $1.75 billion to build a new plant and create a new, China-focused brand. 2014 is the target for completion of the factory. Jaguars and Land Rovers built at the facility will be the first ever produced outside the UK according to the Associated Press. The JV will be called Chery Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Company Ltd.
The announcement comes less than a month after JLR announced it would open a design studio in China. It's not clear from the reports whether the two announcements are part of the same JV or two separate plans.
Jaguar Land Rover calls in handful of vehicles over suspension bolts
Thu, 24 Apr 2014With most recalls seemingly affecting mass-market vehicles, it'd be all too easy to assume, consciously or otherwise, that higher-end automobiles never face such issues. But the main reason we don't see the NHTSA recalling more luxury automobiles isn't because of their quality, we'd postulate: it's because of their relative scarcity.
Take Jaguar Land Rover, recalls of whose vehicles we only seem to have cause to report about once a year. So if you're figuring they're about due, here you go. The Indian-owned British auto group has just announced two recalls, both regarding suspension components: one affecting Jaguars and another concerning - you guessed it - Land Rovers.
First up we have a recall for 2013 to 2014 model year Jaguar XJ, XF and XK models - a whopping 297 of them - which have been found to have problematic toe links. Separation of the toe link from the rear sub-frame could result in impaired stability and control over the vehicle's direction, so JLR is calling them in to replace the nuts and washers on the rear toe links.
