Here is a excellent used 2005 Ford Explorer XLS. This vehicle has been well cared for. It had two owners before I bought it. I am a older retired guy who likes to buy and sell good cars. I found this explorer which needed a person to give it a little TLC. I had it mechanically gone over and fixed everything it needed. I had it detailed, cleaned and buffed out. It is 2x4 rear wheel SUV. The body is tight and runs like new. Tires are 90% new, has a/c, am/fm and cd player. P/W and P/Locks. Never had a accident, original paint, running boards. There is a scratch on right rear panel near gas door which didn't buff out. It has a carfax report rating it excellent. NADA rating of excellent. NADA says it has a retail value of $9,500.00. Local Explores for sale with these low miles and condition sell for $9,500 to $12,900.00. If you are interested you should take a look as it is a very good deal for the SUV. You can get a hold of me at 605-323-5421. If it doesn't sell I am happy with keeping it. I have a clear title so it is ready for you. I only buy and sell vehicles I would be happy to keep and drive myself. I am driving this Explorer almost every day so a few miles are being added. The more I drive it the more I like it.

Project Ugly Horse: Part VIII

Fri, 17 May 2013

Now With More EcoBoost
There's an EcoBoost 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder in there somewhere, and it's headed straight for Ugly Horse.
For the second time in my life, I'm staring at an engine in the back of a truck with no concept of how to get it safely into the garage by my lonesome. The first time this happened, I dragged home a $300 International 345 V8 in the back of my Scout Terra only to discover that the bounds of my manliness terminated well before my ability to muscle that 800-pound cast iron block out of the pickup bed.

Ford cleans up painting process with cameras

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

Knowing how the bacon gets made rarely entices us and, in the same vein, the same usually goes for knowing about how new cars get painted. But in both instances, however, quality - or a lack thereof - is instantly obvious. In terms of the latter, Ford is showing off its new paint quality process with 3D Dirt Detection Technology to find imperfections in vehicle paint more easily and more quickly.
This process - being performed on the F-150 SVT Raptor above - uses 16 computer-controlled cameras to create a three-dimensional model (inset) of the vehicle to detect flaws in the paint including dirt particles, which can then be buffed out manually. Ford says this new technology cuts down on time spent looking for paint flaws and gives workers more time to correct those that are discovered.
Currently, Ford only uses its 3D Dirt Detection Technology system at three factories (the Dearborn, MI facility, along with those in Louisville, Kentucky and Valencia, Spain), but it will soon spread to five more plants in North America. Ford has released a video and press release for this innovative and unexpectedly interesting process, both of which are posted below.

Ken Block walks you through his new 'Hoonigan Racing' HQ

Tue, 24 Jun 2014

Ken Block seems like one hell of a nice guy. I ran into him at CES this past January, and he dropped the video games he was playing to chat with me for a while. His crew also recently gave our Steve Ewing a tour of the offices you're about to see on this video. Good guy to know.
As it turns out, they're some fairly cool new digs. Dubbed 'Hoonigan Racing Division HQ,' the office is open to Ford Focus ST and Fiesta ST owners who attend the driving program offered out at Miller Motorsports Park. The very same program that Ewing reported on just recently.
Or, if you've no plans to buy an ST or travel to Utah any time soon, you can let Block show you around himself in this MTV Cribs-style video. With interior decorating that relies heavily on shipping containers and luxurious amenities like a ping pong table, 10 refrigerators and a bear(?), there's no lack of eye-candy in the driverly HQ. (Judging by Block's outfit, you'll probably not go thirsty if you're a Monster drinker, either.) Take the tour along with the Gymkhana master, below.
