1973 VW Karmin Ghia Convertible

Nice running car with 75,000+ original miles.  There are 2 sets of 5 wheels.    The spare for the custom wheel is in the trunk.   The top is in good condition with a inch u-ship cut in the rear corner -- was repaired.   The car within the past year has all new brake system, new fuel tank, and paint.   If you look carefully the painters did not paint the liscense plate light.  It is still original.  Minor but there.  The interior is in good original shape.  The front and rear seats are nice and clean--no wear or rips of any kind.  The carpet was replaced new this year.

The dash top is good condition with no crack.  The dash facial has a small crack in the vinyl.  A replacement front is about $130 but is minor and not needing replacement--personal preference.  The door panels are OK. The driver door panel front bottom is worn ... the particle wood backing is deteriorated and the elastic band on each door pocket is sagging.  Otherwise, these are fine.  Passenger door outer window scraper is missing Brand new door panels here on Ebay are $120 for the pair.  The tires are like new.   The clock and radio is not working since taken out of storage but the lights, signals, work as it should.  Maybe something simple and shop has not checked yet.   It's a dual port 1600cc engine as rides nicely at 75 mph and has a great VW sound.  It is not concourse by any means but a nice looking and running Karmin Ghia Convertible.  This is the second to last year of production.

If you have questions, please email in3  outs   atttttthotmail.com

If you like it now, $7500.00 it is a fair price for all the maintenance completed on it this past year.

VW reveals Outback-rivaling Golf Alltrack ahead of Paris

Wed, 24 Sep 2014

The Volkswagen Passat Alltrack is getting a baby brother at this year's 2014 Paris Motor Show in the form of a new Golf Alltrack. Like its larger sibling, the little wagon is supposed to offer light-duty off-road driving ability combined with a more rugged look to show it off.
To give the Golf Alltrack that soft-road ability, VW is outfitting the wagon with its latest 4Motion all-wheel drive system from Haldex. The setup can decouple power from the rear-axle when not needed to save fuel. To further improve traction, the Alltrack gets VW's electronic differential lock, and the car can individually brake its inside wheel during hard cornering for better handling.
Volkswagen also wants the Alltrack to be able to visually show that it can handle getting away from the pavement, even though it starts life as a standard Golf wagon. That means jacking up the suspension an extra 0.75 inches and adding black moldings all the way around the car. There are also redesigned bumpers for the front and rear and silver underbody protection, plus new accents like anodized roof rails and silver mirror caps. The interior is essentially unchanged from the wagon, except for altered trim and Alltrack badges.

Volkswagen Golf Wagon caught completely uncovered

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Without a lot of information to go with them, our camera-toting spies have captured some new images of a Volkswagen Golf wagon variant that is almost completely undisguised. In fact, the one piece of camouflage on the tidy wagon would probably have gone unnoticed to most casual viewers. Look closely at the rear three-quarter view of the car and you'll notice that the apparent taillight clusters are actually fakes - the outline of the real units is faintly visible behind the blue bodywork and the sticker-like fake taillights.
It's a good guess then, that this Golf wagon (called a Golf Kombi by our spy photographer) is a prototype that's pretty far along in the development cycle for Volkswagen. We can't be sure what impact this will have on the company's small wagon offering here in the US, but we'd be pretty surprised if something very like this didn't end up as the next Jetta SportWagen. We might well have more information on that front, after we visit Geneva next week.

Volkswagen E-Co-Motion Concept brings electric mobility to the commercial set

Wed, 06 Mar 2013

Volkswagen sees a future where the bulk of the world's freight is moved into city centers by train, then offloaded onto a fleet of smaller, light-duty commercial vehicles for final delivery. Those vehicles could wind up looking something like the company's E-Co-Motion Concept that debuted at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The EV features a modular underfloor drive unit comprised of a battery, motor and gearbox that can be paired with any number of cab and body configurations to suit a buyer's needs, from a refrigerated box to a standard flat bed.
The E-Co-Motion Concept features a rear-mounted electric motor with 113 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque. A standard 20 kWh battery pack provides a driving range of up to 62 miles, while 30 kWh and 40 kWh packs could deliver 93 and 124 miles of travel, respectively. Check out the press release below for more information.
