This 13 window YWCA Kombi is unique because it is believed to be the only VW Bus that was actually used to transport the young women around in Augusta Georgia In the mid 60s . The Young Women Christian Assoc was only open for a few years I have heard, then only the YMCA was open and still exist today.

I dont know if it was sold by Colman motors but I do have the original ID card with the bus that was used when it was serviced at the dealership.  A copy of it will be shown in the listing but I do have the real plastic card which is very legible with this buses serial number on it.

This bus like many had bad floors which have been replaced. They will need welded in better but they are very strong and I have driven this bus to many local shows. There is a lot of patina on the bus but the worst rot is only on the passengers side rear corner.

This bus needs someone in the know of how to bring it back without spoiling the histotical logos that were painted on the bus back then.
I have no idea how to even begin fixing this kombi and keeping the existing patina so I am putting it on here hoping someone will buy it and fix it the way it should be done.

A guy at one of the local VW shows was excited to see this bus and wanted a picture beside it saying he worked at Colman motors in 1965 and has worked on it.

I have put new wheel cylinders, lines and shoes on it a couple years back and installed a 1600 duel port motor that runs ok. The steering is tight.
The horn works, signals flash, headlight and taillights work and tires are good.   I might still have the original block I will check

Here is your chance to own this only bus in the world that has such a unique history.  Thanks for bidding and good luck,  All shipping must be arranged by the buyer.   A  $500 deposit must be received within 24 hours of the end of the auction by postal money order, wire transfer, or pay pal.    I will be posting more pics on a site I will link later

2014 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible gets the R-Line treatment

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

Volkswagen just launched the topless Beetle Convertible at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, but we're already seeing the next step forward in the topless Bug range with this, the R-Line. We'll admit, this treatment falls under the "all show and no go" category, but it's still a pretty potent little cutie.
The R-Line starts with a standard Beetle Turbo Convertible but adds unique 19-inch aluminum wheels on lower-profile tires, LED daytime running lamps and Xenon headlamps. Naturally, there are R-Line badges aplenty both on the interior and exterior, and we must say, the whole package looks pretty darn snazzy.
Pricing has yet to be announced, but when it goes on sale later this year, the hotter convertible will join Volkswagen's growing R-Line portfolio that now includes the CC, Beetle hatch, Tiguan and Touareg.

VW says it has sold over 100,000 TDI diesels in America this year

Thu, 26 Dec 2013

Volkswagen Group of America has lit oil-burning fireworks to celebrate the sales of more than 100,000 TDI Clean Diesel vehicles in the US between its VW and Audi brands this year. According to VW, that means it is responsible for more than 75 percent of diesel-engined cars and SUVs sold here - perhaps not surprising when the two brands offer a total of 12 diesel models.
What might be surprising is that the number of diesels isn't far off the estimated sales of 90,000 battery electric vehicles and PHEVs, with 15,000 of those accounted for by the Tesla Model S, another 12,000 or so being the Toyota Prius PHEV.
VW's keen to play up the ease of making diesel part of your life, stressing that it doesn't need any change to the refueling infrastructure and that "this is a technology delivering real answers to society's concerns about fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions without compromises."
