1969 Vw Beetle Black Plate 1 Owner Origional - Superb Origional Car on 2040-cars

Year:1969 Mileage:176000
Location:

Orlando, Florida, United States

Orlando, Florida, United States

This is a very desirable one owner (family friend) California black plate car (pink slip) originally purchased at Catron Motors located in So. Calif.  I purchased the car from my friend last year and I have decided to sell it. (I want another MGB) Sometime in its life the car was painted, according to him about 20 years ago.  (same red color). The car has a very desirable Kawell Racing engine which is in great shape. I have the original owners VW manual (with service card) and quite a few spare service parts and repair manuals. Interior is 100% original and shows a wonderful patina. (I removed the teak inlays on the dash) When I purchased the car ..I inspected every inch and the only rust is a very minor area just in front of the running board.  Battery box, floor, sills b posts are perfect.  Car runs, starts and very drives very nicely.  I would rate the car an 8+ original 1969 VW Beetle with a superb and desirable period engine upgrade and wheels. If you want a restored perfect VW vintage/classic Beetle this is not your Bug, but you also wont spend $12,000. I have a very reasonable price on this Beetle.  This car has been extremely well taken care of........

Now for the fine print: So read very carefully and then read it again!

Payment for the car is due in cash or cashiers check is due within 5 business days. No wire transfers!  Car will be released once check clears. Deposit of $250 is due via pay pal within 24 hrs after auction ends. If deposit is not received by deadline the car will be relisted.  There is no warranty on a 45 year old car. Arrangements and payment for shipping are the responsibility of buyer.  I will not barter, trade, swap, take payments or dicker or disclose the reserve and I will NOT end auction early. Sale is for USA only. I have blocked all other countries!

Please do NOT bid if you don't have the money. I just want a nice smooth transaction with no drama. I will answer all questions and help anyway I can....Remember if you don't have the money in your hands please don't bid!  Thanks

Production Volkswagen Taigun crossover caught in patent filing?

Wed, 01 May 2013

Volkswagen brought an angular, bulldog-like small crossover concept called Taigun to the São Paulo motor show last year, claiming that it wanted to gauge interest in the design before making a decision about production. If a new report with alleged leaked patent images is to be believed, then, interest must have been pretty high.
China's Auto.Sohu.com has published this group of Taigun images, claiming that they have been sourced from the Chinese patent office and that the subcompact VW utility based on the Up! has been cleared for production.
If all of that is true, and if these images are representative of the final product, you'll see that designers haven't done much to alter the concept car's appearance. Comparing, shot for shot, with the images we have from Brazil, we see that even small details like roof rack-mounted lights and exhaust tips integrated in the rear fascia have been carried over. Take a closer look for yourself in the attached galleries.

Volkswagen debuts MkVII-based diesel Golf GTD

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As Volkswagen prepares for the launch of the seventh-generation Golf, it continues to show off some of the car's different variants. With the standard Golf and the ultra-efficient BlueMotion Concept out of the way, now we're finally starting to see some of the sportier versions planned for the hatchback. Confirmed for a debut at the Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen has now given us our first glimpse at the Golf GTD.
Just think of the GTD as a diesel version of the GTI with all the handling and styling upgrades, and then add a torquey engine to the equation. (We had the chance to sample the current GTD over the summer, so click here to read more.) To go with the new body style, VW also gave the GTD a new TDI engine consisting of a similar turbocharged and direct-injected 2.0-liter inline-four layout but with an output of 184 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque - that's an increase of 14 hp and 22 lb-ft over the current GTD. That's a pretty good oomph, but the GTD won't be setting any acceleration records with VW quoting a 0-62 mile per hour time of 7.5 seconds thanks to the car's 3,036-pound curb weight.
The styling of the MkVII Golf lends itself quite well to the more aggressive body kit found on the GTD (and likely matching the GTI). The new front fascia and blacked-out grille give the GTD a sporty look up front, while 17-inch sport wheels, rocker panel extensions and smoked LED taillights finish off the visual changes. The GTD will only be offered in three exterior colors: Tornado Red, Black and Pure White. As expected, the interior gets the plaid seat inserts and flat-bottomed sport steering wheel, but the car also gets stainless steel pedals, a black headliner, ambient cabin lighting and a specific gauge cluster readout.

VW agrees to halt next-gen rally car development to help others stay in WRC

Sat, 22 Jun 2013

Volkswagen has petitioned the FIA to hold on to the current specifications for cars in the World Rally Championship, according to Autosport.com. The move is evidently an effort to keep as many competitors in the sport as possible, despite the fact that using the current spec racers may actually hurt Volkswagen's chances at winning. The three factory teams currently competing in the WRC are at the end of a three-year homologation cycle at the end of 2013, and new cars are expected to bow next year. But developing new racers could cost as much as $4.7 million.
That price tag would put M-Sport (which fields Ford racers) out of the WRC game for 2014 and would put Citroën participation in question as well. VW has already begun work on the next iteration of its Polo R WRC, and the hatch has nabbed four wins in six rounds this season. Now it appears that car won't bow until at least 2015. The FIA has officially agreed to freeze homologation of new WRC cars until the end of next season.
