This car is a true, straight never before restored 1974 Triumph TR 6. The story on this car is that I purchased it at a farm auction sale. The previous Owner began what he intended to be a restoration, and unfortunately passed away during that time. His wife sold the car at the farm auction, thus I can give you a Bill of Sale. The previous Owner had gotten as far as removing the 5 or 6 gauges from the dashboard and removed the seats. Here are the details of the car.

The body is very straight and will need very light body work (see pics) and repainting if you choose. The main frame (chassis) is in good shape, but the floor pans will need to be replaced on both sides. The seats are not perfect, but nice. They are a golden color. I removed the original gas tank, had it cleaned out, checked out, and re-installed it. I have never put gasoline in the tank.

I have cranked the engine from a bottle. She fires right up and sounds good. You will notice an air conditioner compressor from the pics. I have not checked this out in any way. According to the door plate, this is a 1974 model, rolling of the assembly line from Coventry, England in May of 1974. Here is your challenge...replace the gauges in the dash, light body work and repaint if you choose, install new floor pans and the seats. Put gasoline in the tank, and she should go....this  is a negative ground car. I have the top frame, but it will need to be refurbished. I have no soft top, front parking lights, or bumpers. Brakes and clutch will have to be brought up.

For someone who wants an easy cosmetic restoration, but a minor mechanical job, this is your car. This body is very true and straight as can be seen from the pics. I have other priorities, but this car is too nice not to restore by someone who has the time and wants a good TR 6.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
