Triumph Tr6 Project With Racing Fenders, No Reserve! on 2040-cars

Year:1972 Mileage:31748
Location:

Arlington Heights, Illinois, United States

Arlington Heights, Illinois, United States

I have owned this TR6 for nearly 20 years. The original intention was for this to be a father and son project. As the story is often told, that time has come and gone.

The original intention was to build a TR6 resto-mod (before this became the "in" thing to do with cars) using actual flared TR6 racing fenders. The fenders for all fours corners are included in this auction. These are heavily flared and will allow mounting some serious rubber under them. The fenders alone are rare and worth the opening bid. The fenders are not mounted to the vehicle, there are pictures shown with them "hanging" in place for reference.

The car has typical TR6 rust in the back areas of the car. The backs of the B pillars will need to be replaced and the new owner can decide on what direction to take. An extra back deck panel is included, not perfect some pin holes and had surface rust at one time.

All mechanical components not shown in pictures are included. Car has convertible top included, serviceable, but has split on one window seam, bows removed from car. The car was assembled 100% up until a couple of years ago, anything removed was boxed up and will go with the car. The engine ran well at this time, but I'm sure the engine needs rear thrust bearings (typical end float on crank). The hydraulics on the car are not operable since both clutch and brake master cylinders have been removed. The TR6 will need to be moved via trailer.

The mileage listed comes off of the odometer, the mileage was not listed on the title from 1994 so I can not guarantee  it is still accurate.

The car is being sold "AS IS" and must be paid for prior to removal.

I will not ship, but will be happy to assist the buyer with removal and loading.

Please feel free to ask questions, I'm happy to respond!

Thanks and good luck!

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
