Up for auction is my very nice Maple Brown 1974 Triumph TR-6 ( non-overdrive )
with only 76,199 miles on the odometer ( I'm also selling my 1974 Pimento Red TR-6 this week ). I purchased this car from its second owner who purchased the
car in 1978 while in collage and have a large file on the car dating back some
30 years. I will make every effort to detail everything about the car so all
interested will be fully informed prior to bidding. I'm not a mechanic or a
dealer just a guy selling a very nice TR-6. Please take time to read the auction
in it's entirety.
Heritage: This is a true numbers matching
car as I know it to be after doing much research and that the previous owner had
the car since 1978 and stated it was all original. The production date is Nov. 1973, commission number is CF 15229
U, engine number is CF 15422 UE, body tag #1 is T 14544 CF and body tag #2 is
15738 CF. The car is still in its original color of Maple Brown ( paint code #73
) and original trim color New Tan ( trim code #33 ). I have ordered the British
Heritage Certificate and I hope it will be here before auctions end ( if not I
will mail it to the new owner ).
http://www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/store/ I have ordered the British Heritage Certificate and it
should be here before auctions end and if it does I'll post a copy to the
auction. As most of you know, having a Heritage Certificate not only certifies
that this is a true numbers matching car it sets it apart from all the other
TR-6's out there and greatly increases the cars value. The certificate will also
show that the car is still in its original and correct paint color as from the
factory. Mechanicals: The car runs
and drives great. The car was serviced in July so she is good to hit the open
road. The service included new points, spark plugs, ignition wires,
distributor cap, oil change, oil filter, air filters and the radiator was
serviced. The car starts right up with no issues or smoke. The car
shifts up / down through all the gears with no issues or
noises. The car has a very strong clutch and brake pedal (
hand brake works as well ).
Interior: Is very,
very nice condition and I'll let the photos speak for its
condition.
Exterior: The car looks great and sits
perfectly on the ground with no leaning, sagging or any signs of the dreaded
TR-6 "Squatting " issues. Look at how perfectly the body, hood, trunk and doors
fit! As seen all body panels, hood, trunk, doors and wheel arches are laser
straight. The tires are all correct Michelin Red Line " X " tires just like
from the factory. All glass is original Triplex brand and I just installed new
windshield wiper arms and wiper blades.
Soft Top: The soft top has the
factory correct reflective strip with zip down rear window and is in like new
condition. It was professionally installed and fitted. At the time of install a
complete new top frame was also installed along with all new seals and gaskets (
cost of all this was over $1300 ). The car also has a new top cover ( $400
).
Underbody: This area looks unbelievably original and in very, very good condition
and I find no evidence of rust or accident / damage repairs.
Detailed underbody, floor pan, rocker panels and dog leg photos are available
upon request.
Trunk: The truck is rock solid,
newer trunk panel kit and carpet ( see photos ). The car does comes with a spare
wheel, original jack and original lug wrench. Offers: Yes I'm open to offers on the car. If making an offer they need to be over
the current bid price as should be respectful of the cars heritage, condition
and very low miles. Shipping: If you need to have the car shipped to your location here in the states you can get a fast and free online quote from Able Auto Transport at: http://www.ableautotransport.com/
Overseas Bidders: Yes the auction
is open to overseas bidders. The auction is open to overseas bidders and if you
need to ship overseas try Schumacher
Cargo Logistics shipping for fast free quotes ( http://www.schumachercargo.com/ ).
Please have funds available at auctions end.
I'm not an expert and my opinion of the car may vary
from yours so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information
or the extra photos I have available please ask prior to bidding. I know how
hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have
prior to bidding or if you can come see and drive the car for yourself ( I
really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied
with the car when it arrives. No warranties / guarantees are expressed or
implied. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auctions end
time. |

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
