This off road adventure rig is one of the most sought after 4wd vehicles. Because of this rare year It is equipped with a beefy strong solid front axle and also is fuel injected . It is the sr5 model so it has power windows, a sunroof , off road gauge cluster and much more .the vehicle has 267,400 miles on it In the last six months I had all new calipers, rotors, pads, shoes,wheel cylinders , and drums installed . I had the rear axle seals replaced in June . I also had all new brake lines installed . The fuel tank was removed and painted. There is NO FRAME ROT. The frame did have surface rust, but I had the frame treated with por15 and then coated with rust oleum with the body on. I had all four shocks replaced last month . This is a great project because half the work is done . There are some minor rust holes on the bed side which i have shown in pictures . This is a 5speed manual transmission and is 4wd with locking hubs . It has a 2.4 22re which runs perfect ! I had the drive shafts balanced 2 years ago. This is a rare model, it's an sr5 with a straight axle and fuel injected !! It is my daily driver right now but I'm getting married and need to sell my toys. Sad to see it go because this is my all around favorite vehicle. All sales are final. As the seller I have the right to end the auction at anytime . Toyota FT-86 Open Concept would make a mighty fine droptop FR-S
Tue, 05 Mar 2013There's nothing wrong with going topless. And Toyota is proving that its FT-86 (read: Scion FR-S/Toyota GT86/Subaru BRZ) coupe is just as excellent with its roof removed. It may only be a concept, but this FT-86 Open previews a new droptop from the Japanese automaker to round out the Toyobaru sports car family. We're finally getting the chance to see the open-air FT-86 in person here at the Geneva Motor Show, and we're already yearning to take it canyon-carving.
Interestingly, the FT-86 retains the Toyota coupe's two-plus-two seating arrangement (we'd prefer a proper roadster setup here), but things still look good for this droptop two-door. We'll be curious to see how the car looks with its folding soft top in place (operated by fancy-shmancy electronics, by the way).
As for production intent, rumors have been flying about a production Scion FR-S convertible, but until we hear it directly from Toyota. Consider our hopes in check but our fingers crossed.
Aston CEO claims Cygnet cancelled because Toyota is dropping iQ in 2014
Sun, 27 Oct 2013While slow sales and a $50,000 price tag may have been contributing factors to the Aston Martin Cygnet being cancelled last month, Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez is pointing the finger at Toyota for the demise of this luxurious little city car. In a discussion with Autocar, Bez is quoted as saying that the ultimate reason the Cygnet was cut is because Toyota plans on dropping the iQ (on which the Cygnet is based) in 2014 - a claim denied by the Japanese automaker.
Interestingly, the article also cites another publication reporting that a Toyota importer in the Netherlands heard the same news as Bez, and it has already stopped importing the cars. If the European Toyota iQ is cancelled, that would likely spell the end of the slow-selling Scion iQ in the US, which has sold just 3,365 units through September (a drop of 51 percent year over year).
Regardless of why production of the Cygnet ended, Bez also says that a lack of support from Toyota on the project prevented it from being offered in the US or receiving a supercharged engine, which are two factors that likely would have made the car appealing to more buyers.
