The SX4 Crossover. All SX4 models come with a 143-horsepower, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, 4-speed automatic transmission. The engine has a modern all-aluminum design and returns reasonably good fuel economy figures of up to 22 mpg city, 30 highway with front-wheel drive and automatic drivetrain. Crossover models offer an available all-wheel-drive system that's configured for good all-weather road grip. The system includes three modes, including a 2-wheel drive mode operated in front-wheel drive only for better fuel economy and an AWD Lock mode which sends up to 50 percent of torque to the back wheels, for deep snow or low-speed slippery conditions. The SX4 has an exterior shape , an Italian design house; its taller-than-typical profile allows a high seating position and very spacious interior, along with ease of entry/exit. Crossover models are a delight to drive and have a peppy, responsive feel with very capable handling. The SX4 now includes electronic stability control on all Crossover models; it's also optional with the Touring Package on the Sport. Anti-lock brakes are standard on all SX4s, with 4-wheel disc brakes . SX4s have six standard airbags, including front seat-mounted side bags and side-curtain airbags for all outboard occupants.. The SX4 Crossover are arguably among the best-equipped small cars in their price range and are sold in a single trim with few standalone options, though several large packages lump popular extras together and will simplify the buying process for most, keyless entry, cruise control, heated mirrors, and bigger 17-inch alloy wheels..Clear title in the wifes name.Left fender was painted as a bicycle ran into the car last year. Suzuki previews e-Survivor concept, the cutest ute yet
Mon, Sep 25 2017If you've ever thought of Suzuki as a whimsical manufacturer of small or smallish vehicles, you're going to like what the manufacturer plans to show at the upcoming 45 th Tokyo Motor Show. The e-Survivor Concept reimagines the classic Suzuki jeep as an all-electric vehicle, and it's filled with interesting styling cues both retro and futuristic. The e-Survivor is not only lightweight in construction, it also looks like it, with vestigial wheelarches and see-through doors. The electric motors are housed in the wheels, leaving the ladder-frame construction able to be as skinny as possible. The dashboard houses large screens showing infotainment controls, navigation settings and the vehicle itself, and there are rear-view cameras in place of mirrors. According to the manufacturer, the e-Survivor is a compact SUV of "the next age," which could even hint of an electric 4x4 being the way for Suzuki to survive in this century — or in its second century: the company is 100 years old in 2020, and its concepts show what Suzuki sees beyond that. Perhaps something from the e-Survivor will make production after 2020; independent wheel-mounted electric motors would certainly suit a small, light SUV. Other exhibits are the "tall miniwagon" Spacia Concept, the XBEE crossover available in several different guises, the friendly-looking Carry Open-Air Market Concept and a "neo-retro styled" SV650X bike. Mitsubishi CEO vows to stay in US on heels of Suzuki's departure
Wed, 07 Nov 2012By now, you're surely aware that Suzuki is pulling out of the US market. It was a bit of a foregone conclusion to most who've been paying attention to the automotive realm, but it still sent a small shockwave through the industry. And one of the most oft-heard retorts goes something like this: "Next up: Mitsubishi."
It's easy to understand why many question Mitsubishi's existence in the States. After all, now that Suzuki is gone, Mitsubishi is the Japanese automaker with the fewest sales in America. Furthermore, the automaker's market share has dropped from .7 percent to just .4 percent after seeing sales fall 29 percent to 50,103 units through October.
In any case, Mitsubishi fans needn't worry. Speaking to Automotive News, Mitsubishi President Osamu Masuko said, "We have no intention whatsoever of withdrawing from the US market." That's about as clear as clear can get. It's also worth mentioning that Gayu Uesugi was just named chairman of Mitsubishi Motors North America, and his main responsibility will be to revitalize the brand in the US.
Suzuki ending auto sales in Canada, too
Wed, 27 Mar 2013Suzuki of Japan has reportedly made the decision that almost everyone assumed it would make when it announced it was leaving the US market: when the 2014 model year concludes, it will no longer sell cars in Canada. With six employees overseeing its auto business in Canada and a dealer network that has shrunk to 55 outlets in the country, we can't say we're shocked.
At the time of the US announcement, however, the senior VP of sales and marketing in the automotive division of Suzuki Canada said it would be able to survive on its own because, among other reasons, Canadians prefer smaller, more fuel-efficient cars that fit the company's offerings. Five months later, after some time to think about a 30-percent drop in sales to open up 2013 instead of the 1.4-percent increase in sales that Suzuki Canada posted last year, things have evidently changed.
The Globe and Mail reports that as is in the US, Suzuki's motorcycle, ATV and marine divisions in Canada will remain.
