2005 Scion XB, 92,639 miles, green color, gray interior. Manual 5 gears stick shift. Engine is excellent! This car has been serviced and maintained every 3,000 to 4,000 miles. I bought this car brand new off the Toyota lot in Hollywood. It has been rear ended in fender bender three weeks ago. ( MY AUTO BODY GUY TOOK IT APART AND VERIFIED THAT THE FRAME IS NOT BENT, CAR STILL DRIVING GREAT!) The person who hit me paid me through their insurance and I chose to buy a new car instead of repairing this Scion. Prior to that, a year ago, hit and run on right rear side ( dent above back right wheel) and also someone keyed it on the hood, and right and left doors. I have photographed all the major body damage. As you can see the hatch back door and bumper have been damaged from the fender bender on 4/9/14. The hatch back door is not closing all the way hence the door indicator light stays on. The front bumper has been scratched and scraped from parking mishaps in LA.
I have kept the front seats and steering wheel incased in seat covers and wheel cover the entire 9 years I have had this car, so the interior is in excellent shape. I was not able to photograph the back completely as the hatch back door is not opening due to the accident. The estimate I got to fix the hatch back was $1880.00 from my body guy but that was just one estimate. I decided not to spend the money to fix all the body damage because I bought a new car. I want to sell this car ASAP, as is. I have never had one mechanical issue with this car as far as the engine or any other mechanical problem.
Unfortunately it has suffered wear and tear cosmetically. But the right person will find a way to fix all that!
All lights and indicators work, A/C, heating and radio/CD player all work. Only back door on right side window does not go down when button pressed. All other automatic windows work. The key clicker remote was lost so must open car doors with key manually. I am willing to take best offer in cash, as is. This is the perfect, low mileage, good- on- gas car for someone who can fix the body with their own trustworthy auto body person. Any more questions please ask. If needed, bring your mechanic to check it out. I prefer local buyers in Los Angeles/Southern California. Thank you!

Scion FR-S SCCA World Challenge racecar, ready for the track

    Thu, 01 Nov 2012

Of all the many Scion FR-S models here on the SEMA floor in Las Vegas - and there are a great many of them, have no doubt - the very purpose-built car from Stout Racing is one that we may hear about again in the future.
The Stout Racing team will be campaigning the racy FR-S in the SCCA World Challenge series in the upcoming season, and is currently building some buzz on the Scion SEMA show stand. The car makes use of a supercharger that was jointly developed by Stout and TRD, as well as a front splitter, doors and rear wing - all by Vertex.
Driver Robert Stout will run the FR-S in the GTS class next year, with a debut slated for the Streets of St. Petersburg event, scheduled to go off in March of 2013.

Dubai claims debut of Toyota GT86 sedan concept

    Sun, 03 Nov 2013

Typically, when the organizers of an auto show reveal that a new car will debut at their show, we take notice. But this particular claim from the Dubai International Motor Show ought to be taken with a grain of salt.
As our compatriots at AutoGuide discovered, the Facebook page for the Emirates auto expo includes a post with an interesting claim: that a sedan based on the Toyota GT86 (known in the US as the Scion FR-S) will debut at the show. The Facebook post is accompanied by the image above, purporting to show the concept in question.
The strange part is that the organizers claim the four-door GT86 concept will make its "regional unveil" at the Dubai show, which would seem to indicate that the concept in question would make its international debut at an earlier show. Considering that the doors open in Dubai on Tuesday, that seems increasingly unlikely. All of this begs the question, If this isn't actually a four-door GT86, what might it be?

Despite slow sales, no new Scion models in near-term pipeline [w/poll]

    Mon, 09 Sep 2013

According to a top Toyota executive, the Japanese automaker will not be introducing any fresh Scion models in the near future, Reuters reports. As of August, Scion sales for this year were down 1.6 percent from 2012 and accounted for only 0.3 percent of Toyota's overall US sales. And last month, Toyota Motor Sales USA Senior Vice President Bob Carter informed the 1,000 dealers who carry Scion that they can drop the brand without penalty.
However, never fear - Carter has assured that, while nothing new is coming for at least six months, the company is still very committed to the quirky Scion brand. Toyota launched Scion, which targets the youth market, in 2003, and sales peaked in 2006. The brand currently has five models, with the 2013 best-sellers being the FR-S sports coupe followed by the tC sedan and xB hatchback.
What do you think about Toyota's decision to hold off on introducing new or refreshed Scion models? Are they heading in the right direction, or does this spell doom for the funky Gen Y brand?
