Location:

New York, New York, United States

This is an immaculate, clean example of a 944 turbo. What sets this car apart from every other 951 for sale is all of the expensive, painful 944 issues (Clutch, waste gate, timing chain, airflow meter, speed and reference sensors, electrical gremlins) have all been addressed and replaced or repaired in the last 3000 miles. After the a good tune it'll be set for miles of open roads and hairpin turns!

-NO RUST
-Two previous owners
-Clean title.
-New battery September 2013
-New Timing Belt at 112,000
-FRESH NEW PAINT, entire car was fully resprayed 117,000 miles. Body is very clean.
-Clutch replaced at 115,000 miles, bites hard right at the floor now! Many 944s need the clutch replaced and it is a very expensive job. This one doesn't.
-Turbo removed, inspected, no shaft-play, no damage, 115,000 miles.
-3.0 BAR fuel pressure regulator 114,000 miles.
-New speed and reference sensors 116,000 miles.
-New spark plugs 113,000 miles.
-Brand new windshield, weatherstripping
-Oil and filter changes every 3000 miles
-Rebuilt waste gate with 5mm of shimming.
-All cracked vacuum lines were replaced and all leaks fixed
-Rebuilt air flow meter
-New air filter
-BRAND NEW BF Goodrich G-Force Sport Comp 2 (225/50/r16 rear, 205/55/r16 front)
-NXS manual boost controller
-Replaced driver's side headlight brackets
-New fan motor relay
-New power window switch
-Installed vacuum/boost gauge in the cabin
-Repaired climate control blender
-New fuel pump
-Factory LSD gearbox with oil cooler.
-Original owner's manual.

The only issues with the car:
-In need of a tune. Symptoms: Car runs great in most instances, even idles well, but at wide open throttle above approx 4K and up it stumbles. I don't have a wideband but the stumbling and small backfires make me think it's running rich. Car runs great in all other instances, even runs up to redline in partial throttle, a good tune is all it needs. I've daily-driven extensively (over 2500 miles) with the current symptoms reliably and comfortably, just not ideal for the track.
-One clip to lock the removable roof broke, still 100% sealed from wind noise, rain, etc.

-I am very happy to answer any and all questions about the car so you can bid with confidence. Call/text me at (917) 539-6328 OR ask me a question through ebay.

Porsche Cayman GTS in track battle with 996 GT3

Wed, 09 Jul 2014

Here's your tough question of the day: Would you rather drive a new Porsche Cayman GTS or a slightly older, 996-era Porsche 911 GT3? Certainly, both cars have their plusses. The Cayman is the more modern proposition, sure, but the GT3 is, well, a GT3. So yes, it's a tough decision.
If you're one of the lucky souls that have to make that choice, then this video from Evo should prove pretty helpful. It's a track battle, starring Jethro Bovingdon with a new GTS and an old GT3.
Calling the GTS "fantastically agile" and "fast, but it's also hilariously good fun," Bovingdon bangs home a solid lap time of 1:05.2 before switching to the GT3. It's remarkable to see just how dated the 996-generation 911 looks after viewing the newer Porsche, and from where we sit, it's further proof that the old car's headlights are something that's best forgotten. Styling qualms aside, though, can the GT3 keep up with its racy younger cousin?

Magnus Walker turbocharges his love for the Porsche 911

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

He's had his fill of early, long-hood Porsche 911s - he owns at least one from each model year, from 1964 to 1973 - so Magnus Walker, a fanatic of the Stuttgart, Germany-based automaker, recently set his sights on the early Porsche 930, as documented by this XCAR video called 'Turbo Fever.' Let us translate: pretty soon Walker will own all of the earliest, non-intercooled 911 Turbos - at least one from each model year, starting at 1975 and ending at 1977 (though the 1975 911 Turbo Carrera never officially was imported to the US by Porsche, so it'll be tougher to find one Stateside).
Any Porsche enthusiast can tell you why they love their car, and it often comes down to the small details that differentiate one model year from another. One of many examples is the mid-'80s 928. They look similar, but the basic difference between a 1984 Porsche 928 S and a 1985 928 S (US-spec) is two camshafts and 54 horsepower, though each car's V8 has its own pros and cons. We'll let Magnus Walker tell you all about the 930 and what makes the first three years special, as he's becoming quite the expert on early, air-cooled 911s. When the nearly 15-minute mini-documentary was filmed, which you can view below, he already had added four early 930s to his collection!
