This is the 928GTS that served as inspiration and as a palette for many products that we have developed over the years for the 928 community.

The highlights of this GTS are that it's in amazing condition and has some really nice upgrades. Always garaged or covered since I saw what too much sun can do to these interiors. Autocheck score is higher than many GTS's out there. I have the original owner's purchase certificate card from MCL Cars in Vancouver, and full service history since new. Projected valuation of the GTS is increasing, and justifiably so:   http://www.hagerty.com/valuationtools/HVT/VehicleSearch/Report?vc=852016

The sound system has been fully upgraded to a multi-amp system with active or passive x-over (1 front, 1 rear, 1 rear low, 1 bridged subwoofer), Clarion deck with Dolby processing. Our subwoofer kit using the spare wheel as the cabinet is sealed with closed cell EVA under leather sub and amp panels.  Drivers are MTX gold and Pioneer Premier compact sub. Frequency tuned to match each speaker's range, it all sounds great, lots of punch with superb clarity.  Original stock wiring harnesses and plugs etc. were retained.

Other upgrades include - African Rosewood interior, bronze bezel kit, LED gauge, clock upgrade, SS shift plate, shifter with GTRSS. Remote (wireless) Key fob lock/unlocking and close-up feature. The Remote module is an engineered installation piggy-backed onto the factory alarm/lock module.   Pedal kit, Porsche raised lettering, GTS raised insignia on door sills. Leather luggage cover!  Carbon cold air intake, bronze oil cap with crest, engine raised lettering, SS exhaust tips.

We have full records, manuals and documentation and its maintenance service is up-to-date, recent cam belt, water-pump, new brakes. The VIN # is WP0AA2925PS 820073. Option codes listed are C36 139 340 418 650 691. The GTS is a rare Porsche, this example being one of a few in the province of British Columbia.

Under careful ownership, there are no remarkable events in the history of this GTS backed up by its CARFAX report. As with most 928's the body remains breathtakingly beautiful, all original factory paint. There is a small crack at the base of windscreen and in one of the foglamps is cracked (but sealed). But these are the original parts from the factory.  The only parts not original in the car are the motor mounts and steering rack but I had the original steering rack rebuilt expertly, and it is sold with the car.

This GTS has seen late spring, summer and fall usage, so there is no corrosion to the body or undercarriage to speak of.

The interior is in fine condition, both leather surfaces and carpet, having always had mats installed. We've taken care to protect the dash, door and hatch surfaces from UV exposure, covering the interior when parked outdoors during stopovers.

All upgrades that we have done may be returned to factory stock.

Sale includes original Audio CD-2 and Amp. No wiring was altered to install the audio system upgrade. Original door panel inserts, hatch carpet, spare panel, luggage net.

Porsche continues facelift spree with 911 Turbo

Fri, 24 Jan 2014

If there's ever been automotive case for constant evolution, it is the Porsche 911. It seems like every time a new version of the rear-engined sports car debuts, Porsche is already hard at work on a facelifted version of it that changes some subtle, barely noticeable aspect.
Such is the case with this round of images of a facelifted 911 Turbo, which was seen undergoing winter testing alongside the facelifted, hardtop-version of the 911 Cabriolet we showed you yesterday. The new, 991-based 911 Turbo was just unveiled in May of 2013.
Like the Cabrio from yesterday, both the Turbo and naturally aspirated models shown here feature additional slats at the rear of the car, right behind the rear wheels. These slats on the standard model lend credence to what we learned yesterday - that even the regular 911 models could end up getting turbocharged mills.

Infiniti cribs new US boss from Porsche

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

Just weeks before he was supposed to become CEO of Porsche Cars Australia, Infiniti has apparently offered Porsche COO and Executive Vice President Michael Bartsch a deal he couldn't refuse. Thus, Bartsch has join the company as Vice President of Infiniti Americas, the luxury marque's top North American post. Bartsch replaces Ben Poore, who has been with the automaker since 2008, having led both a 22-percent sales surge in 2012 and the brand's current sales slough, Automotive News reports.
Bartsch, Porsche's No. 2 US executive, has held the COO and Executive Vice President positions at Porsche since 2005 and was scheduled to become CEO of Porsche's Oz division on September 1. Infiniti has experienced a number of recent personnel changes in the past week: it named Vincent Gillet, formerly an executive for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, to lead its marketing efforts worldwide and Simon Cox, a former designer for automakers including Ford and Peugeot, to head a new design studio in London.
Poore reportedly will pursue other interests outside of the auto industry. Read more about the personnel change in the press release below.

Mercedes-AMG GT vs. Porsche 911 [w/poll]

Thu, 11 Sep 2014

Mercedes-Benz designed the AMG GT to compete head-on with the Porsche 911. It's a clear, singular purpose, and Benz brings a lot of money, technology and race-bred expertise to the fight.
The AMG GT is Merc's followup to the awesome SLS AMG, the retro-modern, gullwing-doored coupe that took us by storm half a decade ago. But this new GT coupe is a more focused sports car than the SLS, rather than an all out supercar capable of extreme performance. It's got a brand-new V8 engine, and state-of-the-art technology that help it to not only be a proper Mercedes, but to be a serious performer.
Mercedes will sell its new baby in two models. The GT S arrives first, in spring 2015, followed by the standard GT in mid-2016. Of course, there's room to grow from there. And while Porsche may have already expanded its 911 range to include a vast variety of models, here's how Stuttgart's icon stacks up against Affalterbach's bad boy.
