I am selling my 1998 WS6 Ram Air Trans Am which is in excellent condition inside and out. It is black with tan leather interior, automatic, t-tops that do not leak and they have the covers on them as well, chrome WS6 wheels, and 56,200 original miles. That's super low miles for a 15 year old car and if you do the math that's not even 4,000 miles a year. The paint still shines like it did when it was new and there are no dents at all anywhere and not any scratches that I have noticed either. The inside is extra clean as well and the leather is in excellent condition with no rips or holes anywhere. There r hardly any wear marks at all on the seats and it does have the duel full power lumbar seats that both still work perfectly. The dash has no cracks and even the center console is still in tact and works perfectly as well which is hard to find as most of them are broke or do not still latch. It has the monsoon sound system with a tape deck and a cd changer in the trunk. The car is basically bone stock besides having a full borla cat back exhaust system (which I have all the plates for as well), a k&n air filter and the chome PONTIAC bumper fill in letters.. The car sounds amazing and it runs and drives just as good as it sounds. It starts right up everytime without hesitation, doesn't run hot, doesn't smoke or leak any fluids whatsoever, a/c blows ice cold and everything works and is in order as it was when it was new. I would honestly have no problem giving this car a solid 8/10 as its def in excellent condition and I get compliments everywhere I go. The car also has NHRA badges on it because the person I bought it from was a retired safety coordinator for the NHRA and this was a special retirement gift given to him. I know they didn't officially recognize the NHRA edition Trans Am's until 2000 so this could be considered a 1/1 if what all he told me was true which I believe to be. I actually do have the build sheet for this car which is pictured. The only reason I am selling this bad boy is because I have 2 kids and my gf has a kid as well and its just time for me to get something with more room so we are not always having to take her car everywhere. It has a clear blue Texas title and I also have 2 sets of keys for it as well. It's also just coming off a fresh oil change and I also had the rear differential service done on it as well. If you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to ask as I will answer all questions the same day in most cases. If you are needing the car shipped please have all that figured out and squared away before bidding and auction end. I will require a $1,500 non refundable deposit due within 48 hours of auction end via paypal or cash and this is due to a horrible experience I had selling a car on here last year where the guy tried to scam me. The remaining balance will be paid via cash or bank check but I would prefer cash as its a faster processe. I will not disclose the reserve price but I will tell you its not far from the starting price which I am setting at a very fair price. Good luck and happy bidding and I promise you once you see this car in person you will fall in love.

Saturn Vue ignition switch leads to new group of GM recalls totaling 312k

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

General Motors has another spate of recalls to announce. This time they cover 312,280 vehicles worldwide, including 269,041 of in the US, in a total of six campaigns. In 2014, the automaker has recalled 29,079,765 vehicles worldwide, with 25,754,356 of those in the US.
The largest among them covers 215,243 units of the Saturn Vue from 2002-2004 model years worldwide, 202,115 in the US. It's possible for the for the key to be removed even when the ignition isn't in the OFF position. The company knows of two crashes and one injury caused by this problem. Dealers are checking the parts and replacing the ignition cylinder and key set, if necessary.
Next is 72,826 models worldwide (48,059 vehicles in the US) of the 2013 Cadillac ATS four-door sedan, 2013 Buick Encore and 2013 Chevy Trax in Canada. It's possible that the for lap belt pretensioner to retract but not to lock, which could increase occupant movement during a crash. Both front, outboard lap belt pretensioners are being replaced, and a stop-sale is in effect on unsold models until the problem is repaired. There are no known crashes or injuries, though.

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.

GM knew about fatal Chevy ignition problem decade before recall

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

Well, this is not good for General Motors. Following a report last week that GM was recalling 778,000 Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 compacts over concerns that the ignition could switch out of the "run" position without warning, USA Today reports that the Detroit-based behemoth knew about the issue, which affected 2005 to 2007 Cobalts (the Cobalt shown above and in the gallery is from 2010) and 2007 Pontiac G5s, all the way back in 2004.
The information comes from a deposition in a civil lawsuit against GM, obtained by USA Today, which claims that a GM engineer experienced the issue while the then-new model was undergoing testing. The issue was "solved" when a technical service bulletin was issued in 2005, informing dealers to install a snap-on key cover on the cars of customers who complained about the issue. According to the Cobalt's program engineering manager, Gary Altman, the cover was an "improvement, it was not a fix to the issue."
The case where the depositions were made was from 2010, and involved Brooke Melton, a 29-year-old pediatric nurse in Georgia who was killed on her birthday. At the time, police claimed she was going too fast on a wet, rural road, although it later came out through the black box that her car's ignition had come out of the "run" position at least three seconds before the accident (the max amount of time a black box records before a wreck), disabling her airbags, power steering and anti-lock brakes. According to USA Today, police said Melton was "traveling too fast for the roadway conditions," although it's impossible to know if she'd have been in the wreck, which injured the occupants of another vehicle, had her 2005 Chevy not shut off. GM settled the Melton family's case, although the details remain confidential.
