Due to the inclimate weather, Buy It Now and I will store the car for up to one month.

They are only original once. This is one of the most original second generation Trans Am's currently on eBay. No rust repair, body work or repaints at all. I have sold numerous Trans Am's here on eBay and consider myself more knowledgeable than most of the dealers out there that have only joined the Trans Am bandwagon for profit and not for the pure enjoyment of these fantastic cars. I am a Trans Am enthusiast who has been buying and driving second generation F birds for over 20 years. My feedback speaks for itself. I search for low mile, rare optioned cars, that need little to no work.   Yes, you can still own a nice car for less than 15 Grand.

Up for sale is my 1979 Pontiac Trans Am with 50,145 original miles. This Trans Am has had only two owners for nearly 35 years and has always been a local car being sold new at a Boston area Pontiac Dealership (see build sheet). Complete matching number 4.9 301 engine matched to a four speed manual transmission. Only 1530 cars were equipped with this drive-train option along with T tops. The exterior color is desirable Nocturne blue with a camel tan interior. Factory options include T-tops, WS6 suspension, power windows, optional custom interior, rear defrost, delay wipers, power antenna, and courtesy lamp group. This two owner car is 100% original. Paint, interior, engine compartment are untouched. Body is very straight, paint shows well despite being 35 years old. I have attempted to capture the deep lacquer finish in photos. There are a couple minor door dings which I may remove by the end of the auction. Body panels were rustproofed when new and are completely rust free. Engine compartment could use a detail. The undercarriage including the frame rails, floor pans, and tail pan are spotless. Exhaust is original style with original catalytic converter in place. The interior is in excellent condition with no cracks in the dash, no ripped seats, nice original carpet and door panels. The headliner  is sagging. New tires, brakes, battery, and fluid change. I removed the factory body side molding . You would be hard pressed to locate another T-top, four speed Trans Am in such original condition. This Trans Am shifts drives and runs smooth like day one.  John 978 994 6884

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.

Watch as Hot Rod goes from El Paso to LA the hard way

Tue, 21 Feb 2012

There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
The video is part of a new series called Roadkill that should document similar adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for more calamity-soaked clips in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump to check it out yourself.

Watch this garbage truck consume a Pontiac Grand Am

Wed, 15 May 2013

When an old car or truck offers its dying breath in your driveway and you just don't have the financial or mechanical wherewithal to resuscitate it yet again, you traditionally have to go to the trouble of calling a flatbed or a tow truck to come haul it away. That usually helps to put a few bucks in your wallet and helps recycle some of the vehicle's parts, but the transaction doesn't seem as final or perversely satisfying as the dispatch service that this New Way Cobra Magnum garbage truck offers.
Okay, okay, so this refuse hauler isn't actually designed for this sort of thing, but it's oddly comforting to know that a sanitation truck can compact a hapless Pontiac Grand Am into oblivion. Next time, we won't feel so guilty about slipping that rusty charcoal grille onto the curb next to the cans on garbage day. Watch the carnage by scrolling below.
