2001 Pontiac Trans Am Convertible With Rare Factory Hurst Shifter on 2040-cars

US $13,000.00
Year:2001 Mileage:75905
Location:

This car is beautiful, well kept, adult driven, two owner, collector! The last year of production was 2002 (11 years ago) so the collectibility and value will only go UP!!! It only has 75k miles on it. It's only driven on sunny days! It is parked under cover year round, non smoker, no pets ever inside, not abused and in stunning condition. I really hate to part with it. I'm moving out of state and already have a truck and SUV. I bought it almost 3 years ago (the original lady owner traded it in on a new truck). There has only been 1 issue since I've had it. The original starter went out (it was replaced last summer at Seaview Chevrolet in Lynnwood). Tires have 80% tread left, great brakes, and great sounding exhaust! The convertible top is like brand new!
Options:
LS1 5.7L V8 with the 6-speed transmission (Hurst Package) 310HP and 325lb torque
I can get up to 28MPG on the freeway using cruise control.
Power driver seat with powered side bolsters and power lumbar
Manual passenger seat with power lumbar and side bolsters
Power windows, locks, mirrors, tilt wheel, cruise control, power steering and brakes, power top, fold down rear seat (rare in a convertible), leather buckets front and back, leather steering wheel, shift knob and emergency brake handle, Monsoon Stereo, it has a in dash CD player and a 12 disk in the trunk, steering wheel controls, AUX and USB inputs for your phone or MP3 player, and everything works great and shows no wear! I even had Onstar installed (I still have the original mirror). the bluetooth feature works awesome even if you don't have a service plan. I also installed LED interior bulbs. So it's nice and bright at night (no modifications, just bulb replacement).

There were only 396 convertibles made in 2001! Only 81 with the Manual 6-speed, 315 were made with the automatic and only 57 of these were made with the Hurst Shifter. So this is an extremely rare car.

You will love this car, I do as does anyone that have ever driven it!

This 1927 Oakland is a minimalist hot rod

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

There are hundreds of American automakers that sprung up during the dawn of the automotive era, only to fold into obscurity or get gobbled up by what would eventually become the Big Four (yes, we're counting AMC here). Oakland is one such company, which was the forbearer for General Motors' Pontiac division. Sold until 1931, you simply don't see Oakland-badged cars anymore. Unless, that is, you know Brian Bent.
Bent drives a 1927 Oakland that still rides on wooden wheels. Its original wooden wheels, from the sound of it. That makes this anachronist and his Oakland the perfect subject for a Petrolicious video. Like many of the cars highlighted by Petrolicious, this old Oakland has had some work done to it, featuring a Pontiac flathead engine that's been pushed forward and a clutch pack built by Bent.
Take a look below for a closer look at this rare and fascinating Oakland.

Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap

Tue, 30 Sep 2014

Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.
