Up for sale is my 1976 Trans Am LE. This car is amazing, inside and out. It was my dads pride and joy, but he passed a few months ago and im exploring the idea of selling it. He purchased it back in January of 2007 out of Michigan. It was his weekend toy to drive to car shows and events locally. It is a true LE, and i have all the proper documentation from PHS if needed. I also have the title in hand, with no liens or loans on it. The car is in need of no work at all, and had a frame on restoration over the past 5 years.

History: They only built 319 of these with the 4 Speed and 455 Engine combo. I myself have only seen one or two for sale ever, so these are extremely rare.

Exterior: The paint is absolutely flawless, everywhere on the car. It was painted by the previous owner and it was a $15,000 paint job, as you can see in the pics. Very few marks, and car has won many awards at the local car shows. The paint is about a 9/10, and is one wicked looking car. Car is always waxed with the best products, and never driven in bad weather.

Interior: The interior is 100% perfect, seats are original on the car, and have NO cuts or tears at all. This car even has the rear console option, which was extremely rare on these cars. Power window motors have both been replaced, and the switch on the console was replaced as well. It would be hard to find a single imperfection on the interior, let alone the entire car. All gauges are working, except for the clock, which usually always stop working on the 2nd gen T/A's. Car also has a Cd player hidden in the glove box, with alpine speakers in the front and rear, with an amplifier hidden in the trunk.  Has had the gauge clusters replaced, headliner, carpet, chrome door sills as well.

Engine: As you can see from the pics, the engine compartment is completely flawless. You could even eat dinner off of it, thats how clean it is. The A/C was taken out by the previous owner, but the heater core is still there if someone wanted to install vintage air.  The car is modified, as it has; Comp Cam, Stainless Steel Headers, Edolbrock Intake, Ram Air III Heads, Flomasters Exhaust. It is bored over about 35. (not 100% sure).I have receipts for everything done to this car, as my dad was very meticulous. All engine work was done in 2008. Master cylinder and brake booster are brand new as well.I do also have the stock intake and heads if desired to put it back to stock. the car runs amazing, and starts right on the dime. It has tons of power, but never was abused or used at the track. My dad had a high respect for these cars, and never floored it or beat it up. Car also has a flapper installed for the hood scoop which is really awesome.

Undercarriage: The whole undercarriage was sprayed gloss black and has NO RUST at all. It spends 99% of its time garaged with a dehumidifier and is only driven to car shows on clear days, with no chance of rain. The differential was painted gold, and the car sits on Performance Air Shocks.

I am however in no rush to sell it, and am aware of what it is worth. If u have any questions about the car, feel free to call me anytime.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

Lutz says GM was working on 5th-gen Pontiac GTO

Thu, 08 Aug 2013

Bob Lutz was one of the forces behind bringing the Holden Monaro to the United States, as the ill-fated Pontiac GTO in 2004. And while that car received critical acclaim, it was a sales disappointment. Now, Road & Track is reporting that our suspicions were correct - Pontiac was working on a two-door, G8-based coupe before it was shuttered.
In that R&T article, which is no longer available online, Lutz explained that the new GTO would solve many of the issues found in the original. Car Advice speculates that the new model would have look like a rebadged version of the Holden Coupe 60 Concept from 2008, a conclusion we also came to.
That car would have been a big departure from the 2004 to 2006 GTO. It has an extremely long hood and short rear deck, with an almost fastback roofline and a wide greenhouse with a tall beltline. The wheel arches were very pronounced, and the chin and rocker panel splitters gave it a race-ready look. Would it have been enough to make the GTO work in the US? We think it might of, but it looks like we'll never know.

Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap

Tue, 30 Sep 2014

Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.
