THE GOOD:  Car runs and drives nicely, drove the car across town to my house @ 75mph, couldn't believe how nice it drove, oil pressure high, temp low. Car drove perfectly straight. Everything is still all original and is still there, including the a/c. New front tires, rear tires at about 60-70% tread life. There is no smoke coming out of the tail pipes when started or running, engine is very solid, there are no leaks from the trans, engine or coolant system. From what I have been told this car has never been in an accident. Still have the left front flare (which can be repaired). The sub-frame, floor, and trunk have no rust. This is a very solid car. In 1970 they only produced 3,196 Trans-Am's, and out of them 3 with column shifters. And yes the wood grain dash is original. The inside of the car is all original, but needs work. Still have the original protecto plate and manual. I would also like the bidder be aware of the shifter column and how rare they really are.

THE BAD: (Not so bad) As you can see from the pictures, the car will need small patch panels in the quarters and fenders. There is a small dent on the left fender, hood and front bumper. The hinges are worn on the drivers door (typical for these cars) which need repaired or replaced. As you can see the interior is all original and there, but will need some work. This would be an easy car to restore.

I am starting the bidding @ $15,000 with no reserve. ((((((( Please do not bid on the car unless you have the funds to pay for it))))))))) I will require a $2000.00 deposit within 48hrs of the auction ending. This can be paid through pay-pal or bank transfer.  I will be more then happy to assist in shipping. If you happen to live in Colorado or close to, I wouldn't hesitate driving it home.  If you have any questions, feel free to call Matthew @ 303-305-8912.......  Thank You  and Happy Bidding.......................

GM repairing 40,500 Pontiac Vibes as part of Toyota airbag recall

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

General Motors has confirmed to Autoblog that the Pontiac Vibe is included in Toyota's just-announced recall action. The Vibe and the Toyota Matrix share a large number of parts, including the affected cable to the airbag.
"About 40,500 Pontiac Vibes from the 2009-2010 model years are included in the Toyota recall. Toyota designed and engineered the Vibe for Pontiac. GM will service customers with these vehicles when Toyota makes the parts available," said GM recall spokesperson Alan Adler to Autoblog in an email.
The recall covers 1.3 million Toyota units in the US, including 2009-2010 Corolla, Matrix and Tacoma, the 2008-2010 Highlander, the 2006-2008 Rav4 and 2006-2010 Yaris, plus the addition of the 2009-2010 Vibe. The models all have their airbag module attached via a spiral electrical cable. The connections on this cable can be damaged when turning the steering wheel. Once broken, the airbag deactivates and the airbag warning light comes on. Toyota has an improved part, but it's still making preparations to begin repairs. It will begin notifying owners soon.

GM recalling 778,000 Cobalts and G5s, six deaths reported

Thu, 13 Feb 2014

General Motors has announced that it will be recalling 778,562 compact cars after six people were killed in accidents, partially due to the airbags' failure to deploy. An issue with the ignition switch is causing the airbag issues, as well as causing the engine and other components to shut off without warning. The recall covers the 2005 to 2007 model year Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007 Pontiac G5. (Note that the Cobalt pictured above is a 2009 model.)
According to a report from Automotive News, a number of factors can cause the ignition to switch out of the run position, including weights on the key ring, rough or bumpy roads or other "jarring" events. Any of these situations could lead to some vehicle components not functioning properly.
There have been five fatal front-impact crashes that took the lives of six people, although as a GM spokesman noted, all five of the crashes happened off road and at high speed. In each of these cases, though, the lack of airbags wasn't the only lethal factor - alcohol and failure to wear a seat belt also played a role. Outside of the fatal accidents, there have been 17 other crashes where airbags didn't deploy. It's unclear if any of these crashes were caused by the engine shutting off.

This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels

Sat, 14 Dec 2013

We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.
