This is my 1980 Turbo TransAm that I cannot finish.  Been collecting parts for 10 years. Florida title in my name. I was trying to do my 3rd Silver TA. New wife said no more cars.

This car has a great solid body for  a 33 year old car. Been in my garage for 12 years. Was a 301 Turbo with a A/T that ran. Now I have a 455 Pontiac engine and a 4 speed trans for it. All the machine work done at a race engine shop.  Bored 60 over and all parts balanced. New  parts are valves, springs, bearings, rings, oil pump, timming chain and gears, lifters, RamAir 3 cam, full gasket set, freeze plugs, pistons rods and rings, valve covers, air cleaner, water pump,  motor mounts, 6X heads assembled with new valves, almost everything needed to assemble the engine. Flywheel has been balance. Used aluminum 4 barrel manifold, no carb. Used oil pan.

I have lots of new parts for the body, new lower GM grilles, front to rear SS brake line, front to tank fuel line, interior firewall padding. Boxes of used parts that have been cleaned and painted rally black for show.  Car has tilt wheel, power windows that work, power locks, power trunck latch, factory air, cruise control, t-tops with bags.Bucket seats and rear seats that do not match colors.  No radio, 4 speed center console, radiator, battery, no exhaust manifolds, rearend has no drums and no brakes. Front disc brakes work only.

The body is in great shape, fenders are great, quarter panels are very good, driver door needs a lower patch panel, passenger door needs a full skin. full left and right floors needed, trunk floor also. Frame rails are very good. All the glass is good. Need some minor patch around the t-top channels. Has all the ground effects and spoilers. New keys.I hope someone will give this car a good home and finish.

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.

Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."

General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]

Fri, 26 Aug 2011

You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.
