BUY IT NOW PRICE OF $3,995.00 WILL INCLUDE CUSTOM FIT CAR COVER

This posting is for a rare V-6, 5-speed, 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT, with 115,000 original miles. It has a clear title and California registration is current.  It has been owned since 1988 and was purchased in San Diego from a local dealership. It comes with all the original owners manuals; It even has the sunroof cover which most people have lost over the past 25 years. The interior is as if it came off the showroom floor; near flawless. All gauges, all power accessories, even the radio work perfectly. Car has always been garaged with a custom Pontiac Fiero car cover since new.

The engine a few weeks ago without any warning overheated on a short drive and the car was quickly pulled over and the engine was turned off. It was towed to a local shop where the intake manifold and distributor were replaced and an oil change and complete tune-up were performed. The car now runs very well and a California Smog Certificate was obtained. Over $2,000 was invested and I have the receipt and warranty for repairs from the AAA approved repair shop.

I am now in a situation where my Audi Avant needs a new engine which will cost about $4-$5,000. Unfortunately, before I get to enjoy the car after all its repairs I must sell it to pay for the repairs on my other car. Car runs excellent, has a throaty sound due to newer hi-flow catalytic converter.

ORIGINAL CALIFORNIA TITLE HAS BEEN MISPLACED. CAR WILL BE SOLD WITH A NOTARIZED CALIFORNIA APPLICATION FOR DUPLICATE TITLE FORM.  I WOULD BE HAPPY TO PAY FEES TO GET TITLE BUT STATE OF CALIFORNIA WILL TAKE 2-3 WEEKS TO PROVIDE. PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW YOU WOULD LIKE TO HANDLE (IF A PROBLEM) PRIOR TO BIDDING. SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM IN MOST STATES.

CAR IS FOR SALE LOCALLY SO BIDDING CAN END AT ANY TIME!

GM repairing 40,500 Pontiac Vibes as part of Toyota airbag recall

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

General Motors has confirmed to Autoblog that the Pontiac Vibe is included in Toyota's just-announced recall action. The Vibe and the Toyota Matrix share a large number of parts, including the affected cable to the airbag.
"About 40,500 Pontiac Vibes from the 2009-2010 model years are included in the Toyota recall. Toyota designed and engineered the Vibe for Pontiac. GM will service customers with these vehicles when Toyota makes the parts available," said GM recall spokesperson Alan Adler to Autoblog in an email.
The recall covers 1.3 million Toyota units in the US, including 2009-2010 Corolla, Matrix and Tacoma, the 2008-2010 Highlander, the 2006-2008 Rav4 and 2006-2010 Yaris, plus the addition of the 2009-2010 Vibe. The models all have their airbag module attached via a spiral electrical cable. The connections on this cable can be damaged when turning the steering wheel. Once broken, the airbag deactivates and the airbag warning light comes on. Toyota has an improved part, but it's still making preparations to begin repairs. It will begin notifying owners soon.

Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap

Tue, 30 Sep 2014

Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.
