This is my 1988 Pontiac Fiero Formula Edition, with a 3800 Series II L67 V6 motor swap, she is my babyThey made less then 6,000 of these cars making it pretty rare, and as the days go by, more and more collectible! The motor and transmission are from a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, that had roughly 40,000 miles when pulled. This is a project car, and is CURRENTLY NOT DRIVEABLE! I purchased the car from the Original owner family. It is a born and raised Georgia car with ZERO rust on the cradle or body, the only rust to speak of is some very minor surface rust on the battery tray. The tires are older, but show no signs of age, very sticky Yokohama AV1-60i with almost .300 tread left (over 1/4inch, almost like new). The battery was also new last year. The car has AC, but the system is not hooked up. The headlight motors work, The power window motors also work, but are slow. The paint is original and quite faded. it cleans up OK, but I had plans to repaint the car to its original glory. The body has very minor flaws the two most major I have pictured, and they are simply small cracks in the fiberglass panels. The interior is all original and complete. It is pretty clean, the drivers seat is torn, and the passengers seat has a small tear on the side (pictured). Odometer shows 182,595, but the title reads EXEMPT due to the age of the car. In Georgia as of 2013 it is able to register as a ANTIQUE vehicle, and that means no inspections, or emissions testing. The insurance on the car is very cheap, I paid $90 a month, where my 1997 Buick Regal costs me twice that!

I PERSONALLY HAVE OVER 300 HOURS OF TIME IN THE MOTOR BUILD AND ORIGINAL SWAP

The drivetrain swap was done to the car, and driveable. I had the car registered and insured until recently. The stock 3.8L supercharged V6 motor produces 240 Horsepower, and 280 Ft-Lbs of torque. The only things that were not completed when the drivetrain swap was done is the speedo, tach, and odometer are not wired to the new harness yet, but the car ran perfect, and drove awesome. Gobs of torque. This winter I pulled the car into my shop to drop the cradle and do some performance modifications to the drivetrain.

The mods to the motor are as follow:
Ported TB
Ported LIM
Ported Gen III M90 Eaton Blower with silencer ports block off plate installed
ZZP MPS system installed for easy pulley swaps, with 3.1, 3.25, and 3.4 Pulleys
ARP Head stud kit
ARP Header Bolts
ARP Rocker Bolts
Aluminum LIM gasket upgrade
Comp Cams XP Cam
Comp Cams 105# Valve Springs
Comp Cams Valve Locks
Stainless Steel SI Valves
ZZP Titanium Valve Spring Retainers
Ported and Polished Heads
Stainless Steel PCV covers
Walbro 255LPH Fuel Pump
(6) Siemens Deka 60# EV1 Fuel Injectors
ZZP High Volume Water Pump
ZZP Flex Plate
ZZP 10.5MM Plug Wires (red)
ZZP Modified Fuel Rails (black powder coated)
ZZP Polished Aluminum Valve Covers
ZZP Drilled Thermostat
ZZP oil Volume kit
Speed Daddy Headers with upgraded clamps
3" to dual 2.5" Y pipe
Dual Glasspacks
2.5" tail pipes with dual, Authentic Chevrolet C6 Corvette tips
TransGo shift-kit installed in the 4L60E-HD Transmission
Custom Low mount Alternator Bracket

New Radiator
All New Poly Bushings (front set needs to be installed still)
(4) New KYB GR-2 Struts
New Stainless Brake Lines all around

When I was driving the car, before I dropped the cradle to add all the new performance parts it was in great driving condition, started every time, ran perfect with 0KR, shifted excellent transmission was very tight, never overheated, and stopped excellent. When It is put back together it will be an amazing street machine! I had plans to have the car tuned to run on E85(Ethanol), and all the modifications to do that have been done, or run it on pump gas no problem.

To finish this project car the fuel tank must be reinstalled, fuel pump and lines hooked up, install alternator and starter, ignition system installed, fill all fluids (Oil, Trans, Coolant), re install cradle to the body of the car, then hook up the wiring harness to the motor and transmission, Make the final torquing to cradle, and motor mount bolts, then it is ready to start and drive! All the parts needed for the car to be put back together are here. I have several large boxes worth of good spare 3800 motor parts, and OEM Fiero parts. The motor has not been run since the modifications have been made, so all of the parts are still NEW AND NEVER USED. The 3800 does not have a break in procedure for the cam, so it is ready to run! I would highly recommend a professional tune be done on the PCM for maximum gains from the modifications. The setup on this motor is highly capable of well over 300 Horsepower to the WHEELS, and even more TORQUE. I DAILY DRIVE a Buick Regal GS 100+ miles, it also has the same motor as my Fiero, but with less mods done. The mods to it are, High Compression Block, VS cam, Ported Blower with 3.5 pulley, Speed Daddy Headers, full exhaust, and was Dyno Tuned @ 271HP and 331FT-LBS TO THE WHEELS. The Fiero has a more powerful setup in a lighter RWD Platform, and a TON more money invested. I have tons of experience working on, and modifying these 3.8L supercharged motors...

I have $7,418.78 invested in JUST PARTS for the Fiero to date, and am very meticulous about keeping receipts, I do not have every receipt ever, but I do have most of them. I understand that my loss will be someones gain, and am at a point and time in my life where projects and toys are not my priority, so as sad as it makes me it is time for me to move on from this beautiful classic collectors car.

JUST SO IT IS CLEAR THE CRADLE IS CURRENTLY REMOVED FROM THE BODY, AND THE WIRING HARNESS IS COMPLETELY UNHOOKED FROM THE CAR, BUT THE CRADLE CAN BE BOLTED BACK ON EASILY AND THE WHEELS PUT ON SO THE CAR CAN BE ROLLED ONTO A TRAILER TO TRANSPORT IT.

I have some videos I took of me driving the car right before pulling the car into my shop this winter. These ARE with the 3.8L V6 motor in the car.
I can link you to these on Youtube if you message me and ask for them.

The car is currently located at my home shop, in between Powder Springs, and Marietta, GA off of Dallas HWY (120)
I highly suggest, as I would with any vehicle purchase, that you contact me and personally come by to see the car in person. I am not trying to hide anything, and have been completely honestly throughout the listing about the vehicle, but of course it is always better to view in person! I have hundreds of pictures of the car from through out the build, so if you have any questions PLEASE ASK THEM BEFORE BIDDING. I will have no problem answering any questions, or emailing you pictures of anything specifically requested.

I work week days, and attend school, so I am a busy person, but will do my best to keep an eye on my email. Feel free to TXT or CALL me with any questions as well. Thank You,
Chris (989)-312-1376

I Reserve my right to end the Auction early due to Sale made in person!

GM doing fine at retaining Pontiac owners

Fri, 28 Oct 2011

This isn't the first time we've reported positive news about General Motors retaining former Pontiac owners. Get a few more stories like this latest report from Edmund's Auto Observer, and it will mark an ongoing positive trend for GM. Edmunds.com crunched the numbers to see how well the General is hanging on to customers after shutting out the lights at Pontiac, and it found that nearly 40 percent of Pontiac owners stayed with a vehicle from a General Motors brand.
The numbers are a little lower than an earlier R.L. Polk & Company study, but Edmunds says General Motors is keeping more former Pontiac buyers than it has since 2007. Most are turning to vehicles from Chevrolet, especially during January and February of 2011, when GM incentivized Pontiac owners to stay under the umbrella. Those moves seem to have worked, and 28.1 percent of Pontiac owners trading up made the jump into a Bowtie.
Buyers that have gone elsewhere have largely stayed loyal to Domestic automakers, with Ford picking up the most conquests from Pontiac, with 9.4 percent switching. Toyota and Honda picked up 7.4 percent of the pool of former Pontiac drivers. The numbers are defying any predictions that Pontiac buyers would completely exit the General Motors fold, and have climbed up closer to parity with the retention figures of other GM brands from a 2009 low of only 16 percent retention.

GM recalls 61k more vehicles in three campaigns

Sun, 05 Oct 2014

Following a stop-delivery order for its new midsize trucks and a rash of recent recalls, General Motors is issuing three more campaigns covering 60,575 vehicles in North America with 57,182 of them in the US. As of October 1, the automaker has issued a total of 74 recalls (see the ridiculously long chart to the right) this year covering 26,495,070 units in the US.
The largest campaign covers 46,873 examples in the US of the 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 and 2011-2013 Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle imported from Australia. It's possible for the driver's knee to hit the key and make it move from the "Run" to "ACC" position while driving. GM says its Holden division is developing a fixed-blade key that's supposed to fix the problem by only allowing it to rotate toward the "On" position. There has been one crash caused by this fault but no injuries or fatalities.
The second recall is for 10,005 units of the 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V and 2006-2007 Cadillac STS-V because "the fuel pump module electrical terminal may overheat." This can cause a flange to melt and allow the pump to leak fuel. GM specifies that the remedy for the CTS-V is replacing the fuel module and fuel tank jumper harness, but it doesn't specify how the STS-V is being repaired.

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
