For Sale is my 1990 Nissan 300z Twin Turbo. I bought the car in Dallas, TX ten years ago and drove it back to Ohio. The car was originally white but has been professionally repainted gunmetal metallic grey. I never liked the factory foam wing so I replaced the hatch with a non wing one and bought a NOS filler panel. I like the smooth look this gave the car. Mechanically the car is very good. These engines are notorious for drying out seals and the car was a leaker when it got back from Dallas. Long story short I had a low mileage (approx 25k) JDM engine installed with a brand new factory Nissan engine wiring harness(no dry cracking plastic here). When I had the engine installed I wanted to enhance the performance without compromising the reliability. I put a lightweight, yet strong chrome molly flywheel as well as a stage 3 clutch. I replaced the goofy 2 piece, non serviceable boat anchor driveshaft with a 1 piece balanced aluminum racing driveshaft. I replaced the restrictive factory down pipes with smooth flowing stainless steel ones. This helps the turbo’s run more efficiently. The car is not a racecar but pulls good enough to make you smile. I am including a set of "race pipes" that eliminate the converters if you choose to put them on. The car retains the factory mufflers so it is a quiet sleeper. The car drives straight and smooth. I have replaced the tires within the last 4000 miles or so. I would say they have 90% tread. There may be 500 miles on the new BREMBO rotors and new brake pads. The red leather interior is in good shape for the age. The a/c was converted to r134 last year and blows ice cold. The only thing I can think of that is wrong with the car is it needs a new radio. It was not really a priority to me. I had bought a replacement factory radio out of another Z but the plug is different. I am including both radios with the car. I apologize for the long ad but I’ve owned the car a long time and have enjoyed improving it. I am on the road allot and do not have time to enjoy the car so I’ve decided its time to let it go. Please call me with any questions or to arrange to look at the car in person. It speaks for itself. Mike 614-394-7262

Nissan to give Qashqai the Nismo treatment
Sat, 30 Nov 2013Nismo is on a bit of a rampage lately. Once consigned to the fringes, Nissan has taken its performance sub-brand into the mainstream and let it loose on a whole mess of its products. The Juke Nismo was followed by a 370Z Nismo, and in Los Angeles, we saw the GT-R Nismo, Sentra Nismo concept and Juke Nismo RS.
So what's next from Nismo? According to the latest intel from across the pond, Nissan is working on a tuned version of its new Qashqai. Car magazine is reporting that the larger crossover will get the same 1.6-liter turbo four as the Juke Nismo, but with the RS model's 212-horsepower out and not the "base" model's 197. Expect all the other bells and whistles applied to transform a Nissan model into a Nismo one to apply as well.
If the Qashqai name doesn't ring any proverbial bells for you, that's alright, because it's only sold overseas, where it's one of Nissan's most popular models. The crossover (which looks like the new Rogue but is a substantially different model) was recently completely replaced, with engine options ranging up to 150 horsepower - so the jump to over 200 should make for quite a different beast altogether. Whether a parallel or subsequent program to give the Rogue a similar treatment is another matter, but given the pace at which Nismo seems to be running, that may only be a matter of time.
Nissan does its best Google Glass impression with 3E headgear [w/video]
Wed, 13 Nov 2013The jury may still be out on whether it'll be legal to drive with Google Glass on your nose, but that doesn't mean automakers are going to sit around waiting to see which way the wind blows in one jurisdiction or another. Mercedes-Benz, for example, is already working on ways to integrate its infotainment system into Google Glass, but Nissan is taking things a step further by developing its own wearable tech.
The device is called Nissan 3E, and we don't have much information to go on at this point - just a couple of images, a terse press release and the highly stylized (and rather painful-looking) video below. The Japanese automaker lists internet connectivity and communication as the primary features. But we'd have to assume that, if an automaker is developing it, the device would have some relevance to, you know... driving.
The possibilities are endless, extending from turn-by-turn directions and track information to vehicle metrics and intuitive control of the car's auxiliary controls. We'll have to wait until we get to Tokyo to find out more, but between this and the smartwatch concept it revealed in Frankfurt, Nissan seems to be on a bit of a gadget streak lately.
Nissan could have bought a stake in Aston Martin as early as 2012
Mon, 08 Sep 2014Aston Martin has a very interesting future ahead of it. While the British brand appeared to be struggling with aging tech for a while, fresh investment from Daimler may have shown a light toward the future with the brand getting engines and electronics from them. Also, former Renault-Nissan top exec Andy Palmer has jumped ship from the French/Japanese automaker to become CEO of the much smaller sports car company. Interestingly, though, new reports from unnamed Nissan sources have indicated that Palmer has been pushing to work with AM for years.
Three unnamed company insiders told Reuters that Palmer made attempts to convince Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn in 2012 and 2013 to invest in Aston Martin, but his proposals were shot down both times for unspecified reasons, according to Automotive News. "We looked carefully at the proposal but we passed on it," said one of the sources.
You can easily see why Palmer was eying Aston Martin even back in 2012. It's no secret that the British sports car mavens were in need of extra funding, well before the Daimler investment. Building vehicles these days is only getting more expensive with stronger safety and emissions requirements. Just look at the brand's desperate hope to get a side-impact crash exemption to keep selling its models in the US as an example.
