Greetings,  Gentlemen meet ; "LUFTANSA"  our German airliner. -up for bid is your chance to own* THE *20th Century Benz. The 1999 S500 Grand Edition.

This is a real and true Grand Edition, not just the neighbors S500 with some new floor mats. --- I have owned this car since December 2004. I bought it from the original owners, who took delivery in late 1998,- at Mercedes Benz San Francisco.

It has all the GRAND EDITION items and is one of the rarest modern benzes available. One of 600 made world wide to celebrate the closing of the W140 Klasse.

When I bought the car it had 40K miles, it now some 10 years later under fastidious ownership has 138K miles. I have fed "Luftansa" a steady diet of Mobil 1 and good Mercedes parts if and when they are needed. She is a true - actual grand edition with the correct trim, paint , seats , steering wheel, dash , sills, mats , wheels and parchment leather interior. ---She has been a loyal servant, and I am sad to see her go.

The Good: an actual S500 Grand Edition with basically nice paint, and good interior, cold AC (charged in 2011 ) good suspension, fresh brakes, good engine ,- drives well and I had her trans rebuilt about 3 years ago with a timing chain and lifter refresh at that time ( about 15K ago  )

The Bad: a lady at one of my clients clipped her nose with a 2005 tahoe in the parking lot. so she has a nose gash / dent and is being sold on a CA "salvage" title.

I know she can be made better and be made yours, she just needs someone to work on her. My upgraded Alpine radio /cd / XM/IPOD that goes with the car. Michelin Pilot Sport tires on all that all are 50% or better tread depth. as a car I trust her, but she is being sold AS_IS with no refunds or take backs or funny business. She is available for local personal and or compensated inspection at your choice.

If you have questions or need help , feel free to contact me through ebay channels and we will do our best to answer them to the fullest.

13-year-old boy swipes dad's Mercedes, drives across Europe

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

After an argument with his adoptive parents that resulted in them taking away his mobile phone, an angry 13-year-old boy ran away from his home in Italy and headed straight to Poland to meet his biological sister. But instead of taking the train or hitching a ride, like most on the run, the young man (an accomplished go-kart racer and car enthusiast) grabbed the keys to his father's Mercedes-Benz and jumped behind the wheel for an impromptu road trip.
With less than 200 euros (about $270) in his wallet and a passport in his pocket, the youngster managed to put more than 500 miles between himself and his distraught parents, crossing two international borders in the process, before German police nabbed him just shy of the Polish border. According to reports, the vehicle was tracked - it wasn't his driving that alerted authorities to his location.
Reunited with his mother and father, who traveled to Germany to retrieve both their son and the vehicle, the young man apologized and acknowledged his error. As a result of his actions, social workers will increase checks on the family and we can be sure his parents are now hiding the keys.

EVO "2012 Car of the Year: The Track Battles" is a sports car salmagundi

Sun, 25 Nov 2012

EVO has come out with another gotta-watch-it video, throwing its 2012 Car of the Year contestants around the UK's 1.5-mile Blyton Park track. It's actually a 15-minute teaser for the full-length DVD detailing the magazine's Car of the Year selection, but the tease is worth every penny free second.
Tiff Needell and sports car racer Richard Meaden handle the wheel duties, the two driving five pairs of sports cars: Lotus Exige S vs. Porsche Boxster S, Morgan Three-Wheeler vs. Toyota GT86, BMW M135i vs. Porsche 911, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series vs. Alpina B3 GT3, the marquee event pits the McLaren MP4-12C vs. the Pagani Huayra. After a head-to-head lap with commentary during drifts, Meaden takes each car out to set a representative lap time.
You'll find the verdicts, lots of tire smoke, and lines like "Anything you can do sideways I can do sideways" in the video below.

How could a lifted Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG be more awesome? Add an axle

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

We are fully confident in saying that this will be the most amazing thing you see all day. First of all, it's a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen - in AMG spec, no less. And it's being shown off in high-definition video glory, blasting through the desert, jumping over sand dunes, and generally being awesome. But here's the kicker: It has six wheels. Three axles. And they're all driven. Holy $%!#.
Under the hood is AMG's usual 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8, and total output is rated at 536 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque. That's impressive and all, but do keep in mind that the G63 6x6 weighs in at 8,322 pounds or, you know, the weight of two E-Class sedans. Combine that with its 18 inches of ground clearance, 37-inch tires and five locking differentials and you've got a vehicle capable of, well, everything you've ever imagined or will ever imagine for the rest of your life.
But the goodness doesn't stop once you open the doors. Oh, no. This thing is fit for a king - or a sheik, more appropriately - with ultimately luxurious seating for four. The rear bench seat has been removed in favor of two bucket seats with a fixed console in the middle, and the rear seats have been moved back beyond the usual B pillar to allow for more legroom.
