California Car. Actual Mileage! on 2040-cars

Year:2000 Mileage:87520
Location:

Carlsbad, California, United States

Carlsbad, California, United States

 Description:
For sale is my 2000 Mercedes Benz E55 AMG. 349 HP! No turbocharger. No supercharger. This car is just plain fast!!! It is in great condition. Clean title, clean Carfax with no mileage issues or accidents. Believe it or not, I have seen 25MPG on a 4 hour cruise to Santa Barbara!

Engine:
Engine starts effortlessly. Warms up quickly and settles into a 600 rpm idle. No pinging. No knocking. Pulls like a locomotive all the way to redline! Replaced all 16 spark plugs 6000 miles ago.

Transmission:
Upshifts and downshifts are seamless. No slipping. No clunking. Drive to reverse and back is smooth with no drama.

Paint:
Paint is perfect and looks original everywhere except front passenger fender appears to have been painted at some point. No evidence of body work.

Interior:
Seats, carpet, headliner and all wood trim are in perfect condition. No rips. No tears. No cracks. Dashboard around air bag panel and up near dash is showing cracks with the longest being maybe an inch long (see photo). If you google "E55 dash crack", you will find that it appears to be a common problem.

Electrical:
All power options are in excellent working condition. Power seats, windows, locks, cruise, CD changer, Air Cond. (ice cold!). Massage seats, however, appear to have a mind of their own. When you start the car they inflate as designed, but slowly deflate as you drive. Climate control performs flawlessly just as it was designed. Set the temperature, and it automatically decides whether air or heat is needed.

Brakes/Tires:
Brand new set of 4 Dunlop tires less than 1000 miles ago. Front pads and rotors replaced approx 6000 miles ago.

Suspension:
Car tracks straight and true. Suspension is on the stiff side as it was designed, but handles like a much smaller car. You will feel that dime you just ran over!

Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG spied in Sweden

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

We've spotted the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLA testing a couple times in recent months in getting closer to production form and shedding camouflage, but now it looks like we're see our first look at the AMG version of this compact crossover. The low ride height might trick some into thinking that we're just seeing the already-confirmed A45 AMG out testing, but the unique beltline, rear doors and side windows confirm this is some version of the GLA-Class.
What makes us so confident that this is the AMG model? Well, for starters, this prototype has beefier brakes with cross-drilled front and rear rotors and bigger front calipers, but it also sports dual exhaust outlets poking through the rear fascia and a suspension that has been lowered considerably. Our spy shooters said that this car's exhaust note made it almost certainly an AMG model.
Just to be clear, the GLA AMG will not be powered by a 4.5-liter engine. The closely related A45 AMG will carry the "45" in its name to celebrate the first 45 years of AMG, and our sources seem to indicate the AMG version of the GLA will do the same. We're expecting this sporty crossover to produce as much as 350 horsepower from its AMG-tuned four-cylinder engine, and like the all-new E63 AMG, it could very well come standard with 4Matic all-wheel drive.

Mercedes leads in US luxury car thefts

Wed, 31 Jul 2013

Mercedes-Benz makes some fine automobiles. The Silver Arrow'd cars are so good, apparently, that thieves can't help but try to steal them. The German brand is at the top of the charts for luxury car thefts in the US, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, with New York City leading the way. (And those New Yorkers complain about Detroit being bad!)
The C-Class was the most stolen model, with 485 ganked between 2009 and 2012 in NYC alone, while the E-Class and S-Class (which also boasted the worst recovery rate, at 59 percent) both finished in the top ten. Following the C-Class was the BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G. Not surprisingly, each of these were the most common models in their respective lineups. Los Angeles and Miami are also prime hotspots for luxury car thefts, according to the Detroit News report.
While getting your car stolen is pretty awful, there was one inspiring statistic compiled by the NICB - the average recovery rate across the board was 84 percent, with the Cadillac CTS getting recovered 91 percent of the time.

How could a lifted Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG be more awesome? Add an axle

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

We are fully confident in saying that this will be the most amazing thing you see all day. First of all, it's a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen - in AMG spec, no less. And it's being shown off in high-definition video glory, blasting through the desert, jumping over sand dunes, and generally being awesome. But here's the kicker: It has six wheels. Three axles. And they're all driven. Holy $%!#.
Under the hood is AMG's usual 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8, and total output is rated at 536 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque. That's impressive and all, but do keep in mind that the G63 6x6 weighs in at 8,322 pounds or, you know, the weight of two E-Class sedans. Combine that with its 18 inches of ground clearance, 37-inch tires and five locking differentials and you've got a vehicle capable of, well, everything you've ever imagined or will ever imagine for the rest of your life.
But the goodness doesn't stop once you open the doors. Oh, no. This thing is fit for a king - or a sheik, more appropriately - with ultimately luxurious seating for four. The rear bench seat has been removed in favor of two bucket seats with a fixed console in the middle, and the rear seats have been moved back beyond the usual B pillar to allow for more legroom.
