2001 Cl55 Amg Mercedes Satin, Matte Back Renntech Wheels Low Miles, Runs Great on 2040-cars
Boca Raton, Florida, United States
Hello, Today I am auctioning my 2001 Cl55 Mercedes Benz. I purchased this car 2 years ago and immediately began upgrading it.
First I completely serviced the car, Every fluid and filter, replaced the injectors and fuel pumps / filters, belts, everything. Next It was stripped down and repainted factory black, then the Satin ppg clearcoat was applied. All factory chrome bits were painted gloss black for accent color. Then I got a set of Renntech 19 wheels and they were painted two tone satin and gloss black. 2005 style taillamps were added, then ALL lamps were smoked black ( except the headlamps & foglamps) The interior was next, The headliner was redone in gray ultrasuede as were the lower door panels. All wood trim was removed and painted gloss black, some pieces were covered in carbon fiber vinyl ( waistrails on the doors, shifter trim). There are minor scratches ( damn cat), and a few chips, all normal wear and tear, nothing excessive. The car runs excellent, And gets ALOT of attention. I hate to sell it, but other projects are waiting. Please ask questions before bidding, Thanks for looking. |

2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA250 Sport
Wed, 06 Mar 2013Mercedes Makes A Mighty Little Sedan
We got overexcited when the W203 Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan came out in 2001, calling it the "Baby Benz" when it really wasn't. We knew that, too, but our enthusiasm for a model more like the old 190 of the '80s was so strong that we were willing to stretch the first-gen C-Class to fit that mold. Today, the C-Class has done what all German premium cars do: grown in size. In this case, grown to satisfy the market intentions of the previous E-Class.
There was the tall A-Class sold from 1998 through 2010, but we never considered that a serious small Benz in the proper spirit, nor was it ever offered in the US. Regardless, we've been craving a smaller, premium, sexy sedan all the while.
New Die Hard movie wrecked 132 cars in $11 million chase scene [w/video]
Sat, 16 Feb 2013It would seem the act of dying hard brings with it lots of wanton destruction of the four-wheeled kind. According to John Moore, director of A Good Day To Die Hard, starring Bruce Willis, There were 132 (cars) that could never be used again. Another 518 required a lot of work. And damn right there were some good cars there... That's the fun of it."
Please join us in one great big collective sigh. Done? Okay, let's continue.
"With Die Hard it's about how audacious the action is," says Moore. "So you have to drive over a Lamborghini. An actual one. And yes it hurts me. I'm a car fanatic." Yeah. Sounds like it hurt really bad... though not as bad as the final tally after all the carnage had been counted: "Someone showed me the numbers on the car chase and soup to nuts, you put it all together it was like an $11 million sequence."
Maybach lost upwards of $500k on each vehicle sold
Wed, 08 Feb 2012Daimler is shuttering Maybach in 2013 after seven years of production. In that time, the company's ultra-ultra-luxury arm managed to sell just 3,000 units, and CAR reports Daimler lost somewhere around $500,000 on each and every one of them.
Even with a ludicrous price tag of over $370,000 for an "entry" Maybach 57, the brand couldn't quite recoup the dizzying $1.33 billion Daimler poured into it since its (re)inception. Rumors ignited over a possible tie up with Aston Martin that would have resulted in a range of new and attractive models, but Daimler has instead decided to snuff out Maybach altogether.
We can hardly blame them.
