THIS CAR IS BEING SOLD AS A PARTS CAR GIVEN THE RIGHT MECHANIC IT COULD BE MORE THAN THAT, AND WILL HAVE TO BE TRAILERED AS IT IS NOT DRIVE-ABLE. THIS CAR HAS POTENTIAL AND A LOT OF GREAT WORKING COMPONENTS. WHEN VIEWING THE PICTURES IT MAY LOOK LIKE SCRATCHES BUT I ASSURE YOU THEY ARE NOT, LOOK CLOSE AND YOU WILL SEE THE CAR IS DIRTY FROM THE DESERT WINDS AND THERE ARE NO DENTS OR MAJOR SCRATCHES. AUTO CHECK IS NOT ACCURATE AS FAR AS THE TITLE ON THIS VEHICLE I PERSONALLY WENT WITH THE PREVIOUS OWNER AND HAD IT NOTORIZED AND I HAVE THE TITLE IN FRONT OF ME VERY CLEAN AND CLEAR! PLEASE CALL WITH ANY QUESTIONS. IT NEEDS TO HAVE THE FLEX DISC PUT ON AND I HAD ACTUALLY PURCHASED ONE RIGHT HERE ON E-BAY. IT NEEDS TO HAVE BOTH OF THEM, THE DRIVE SHAFT AND PROPELLER SHAFT ARE THERE AND IT WILL NEED THE CENTER SUPPORT BEARING. THE CAR STARTS UP AND RUNS AND RUNS LIKE IT IS ROUGH AND THEN BEGINS TO HEAT UP AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES OF RUNNING. BUT DURING THE TIME I KEEP IT RUNNING THE A/C WORKS EXCELLENT AS DO ALL THE ELECTRICS, THE ORIGINAL BECKER RADIO SOUNDS NICE AND THE SUN ROOF WORKS BUT IT IS OFF TRACK. THE BODY AND INTERIOR ARE IN WHAT WE WOULD SAY VERY VERY GOOD CONDITION. THERE ARE NO BROKEN WINDOWS BUT THERE IS A VERY SMALL CHIP ON PASSENGER SIDE WINSHIEL DOWN LOW AND IT DOES NOT OBSTRUCT ANYTHING AND IS HARDLY NOTICABLE. THE TIRES ARE IN GREAT SHAPE AND HAS THE SPARE. WE DO NOT REALLY HAVE A PLACE TO DO ANY WORK ON THIS VEHICLE AT THE PRESENT TIME SO WE ARE GOING TO OFFER IT HERE. IF WE WERE FINANCIALY BETTER OFF WE WOULD PUT THE WORK THIS CAR NEEDS INTO IT. WHEN THE CAR STARTS UP IT DOES HAVE WHITE SMOKE WHICH COULD BE HEAD GASKETS, BUT IT DOES NOT KNOCK OR PING. WELL THANK YOU AND IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS PLEASE GIVE US A CALL (520) 578-3854. AL.

European automakers gear up for Brazilian production
Mon, 07 Oct 2013Brazil is the place to be, apparently. Toyota has been investing in the South American country, as has BMW, which announced a $261 million investment in October 2012, on the heels of an Audi factory announcement in San José Chiapa. The high-end immigration is only set to continue, as Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar-Land Rover have both announced plans to set up manufacturing operations there.
Mercedes is the big news here, as its new facility will see the German manufacturer invest 170-million euros for production of its next-generation C-Class and upcoming GLA-Class. "Brazil is an important future market. With our local production we accept the challenge and take on the competition," noted Andreas Renschler, Management Board member for Production and Procurement at Mercedes-Benz Cars and Mercedes-Benz Vans. Production is expected to begin by 2016.
Jaguar-Land Rover, meanwhile, isn't so concrete in its plans. The news of its investment in South America comes from a job posting for a plant quality manager in Brazil that was picked up by the UK's AutoCar. "Portuguese language skills will be definite advantage" for interested candidates, according to the job listing. The want ad follows on the heels of remarks by Jaguar Land Rover's Dr. Ralph Speth, who said there are "very intensive discussions" with Brazil's government. Unlike Mercedes, there's no mention of which vehicles will be produced in South America, although AutoCar thinks the Freelander, sold in the US as the LR2, is a leading contender.
XCAR marks 20-year anniversary of Senna's passing with Mercedes 190E Cosworth
Thu, 01 May 2014While the automotive world is focusing on the twentieth anniversary of Ayrton Senna's death, there was much, much more to the legendary driver than his untimely passing at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.
XCAR has the story of a younger Senna, who, by a stroke of luck, found himself matched up against a veritable dream team of nine Formula One champions, not to mention a cadre of German touring car aces. A "probably still pissed (drunk)" James Hunt, hard-driving Niki Lauda and future champion and rival Alain Prost, were in attendance for the one-off, spec race, which was put on by Mercedes-Benz, in honor of the opening of the Nürburgring's Grand Prix circuit. And Senna was on hand with the explicit goal of besting them all.
Each driver was handed a lightly modified, but brand-new 190E 2.3-16 Cosworth, a car that can best be though of as the distant ancestor of the lovable C63 AMG. As for the race itself, well, it was sort of like an introduction of what the sport could come to expect from the Brazilian.
New Die Hard movie wrecked 132 cars in $11 million chase scene [w/video]
Sat, 16 Feb 2013It would seem the act of dying hard brings with it lots of wanton destruction of the four-wheeled kind. According to John Moore, director of A Good Day To Die Hard, starring Bruce Willis, There were 132 (cars) that could never be used again. Another 518 required a lot of work. And damn right there were some good cars there... That's the fun of it."
Please join us in one great big collective sigh. Done? Okay, let's continue.
"With Die Hard it's about how audacious the action is," says Moore. "So you have to drive over a Lamborghini. An actual one. And yes it hurts me. I'm a car fanatic." Yeah. Sounds like it hurt really bad... though not as bad as the final tally after all the carnage had been counted: "Someone showed me the numbers on the car chase and soup to nuts, you put it all together it was like an $11 million sequence."
