THIS IS AN EXTREMELY CLEAN CAR IN GREAT WORKING CONDITION.  IT IS A RARE FIND.  NOT MANY LEFT IN THIS CONDITION.

IT IS A COLLECTIBLE/HARD TO FIND MERCEDES COUPE

I AM A PRIVATE OWNER/SELLER.

The Mercedes-Benz 280CE was produced from 1976 through 1985. The 280 Series were powered by a six-cylinder engine with had a cast-iron block and aluminum head. Horsepower measured 180 with 220 foot-pounds of torque. A four-speed automatic gearbox was standard with disc brakes in the front and rear. They featured a steel unibody construction and offered as a four-door sedan (280S), and a two door coupe, the 280C.  The NADA pricing on this car is $6,900 low & $13,600 high.

This is an excellent running & driving car. It is a rare Mercedes as not many are even offered for sale. Totally restored they bring upwards of 15k (do the research).  This car is all there and it is all original.  It is absolutely beautiful. The car has electric sunroof, AC & heat, power windows, steering, cruise control. There is no rust whatsoever.  This has been a CA car.  I bought it from a local private owner in my neighborhood.   I am not sure but I believe that he was the original owner.  He certainly took very good care of this car based on its condition.  The car was kept in his garage when I first went to see it.  That is the same condition the car is in today as I have driven the car for few miles and then also stored in my covered garage.  The paint is all original & still looks great and holds a good shine, it is absolutely beautiful. The interior is all original, and look at the pictures to see how pristine it is.  The sunroof doesn't leak & works fine. The brakes are good, tires have fairly good life in them and the battery always been on a battery tender. I kept the car as nice as possible and always put fuel stabilizer and started and moved it every week.  All the glass is in excellent condition, no cracks, or discoloration, except a very small area at the bottom of rear window has some staining, (looks like someone left something there in the past and its color shows on the window a little, it may come off possibly but frankly, I never had time to try (the reason for sale, not enough time to be enjoying this car).  All the lights work & function correctly. This car runs & drives very well. It has the 6cyl. engine & the 123 frame. The car drives very straight on the road, shifts extremely smoothly, the trunk is so clean you can eat off the floor, it is something to see. The engine bay is also very nice and clean and it is all original.  There are no blemishes on the dash.  The wood vaneers are in very good condition, the steering wheel is nice and clean and also in original condition.  There is no crack on dash and dash and the instrument panel are in very good condition.  There are very few of these in this condition.  I drove this car for a few occasions recently and there are no rattles or shakes no inappropriate sounds.  The radio works fine and it has also a CD changer in the trunk which seems very authentic and it has a remote control inside the car in between bucket seats.  I am not sure if the CD changer is original, but it appears to be one of those Mercedes used.

Overall, this is a very nice and rare car that is in great original shape and it is certainly a rare find in this condition.

The reserve price is set very realistically, but will not be disclosed, please do not ask.  Please also do not e-mail with requests regarding what I will take for the car.  If you want to make an offer you can e-mail me with your offer and I will always respond.  If you want to personally inspect the car please make an appointment well ahead of time.  One would believe that the following is obvious but based on prior experience I will note it here:  If you win the auction, that does not mean that you get to inspect the car and decide if you want to buy.  It means you bought the car and you need to pay.  The deposit is not refundable if you do not go through with the purchase.  If you do not contact me after winning the auction within 24-48 hours, I reserve the right to relist and/or sell the car to others.

Thank you for your interest in this car.

Chris Harris and David Coulthard wring out a Mercedes Fintail at the N"urburgring

Thu, 17 Oct 2013

If there's one thing we've learned from the latest video from Drive, it's that the combination of Chris Harris and David Coulthard will produce some very quotable moments. Take this exchange, for example.
DC: "We are by some way the slowest."
CH: "But we're in a class of three cars, apparently."

2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA order guide leaked

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

The dealer order guide for the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA has made its way online courtesy of the crew at CLAForums.com, and not only does it shed light on the ways buyers will be able to configure the entry-level sedan, it talks specific option pricing. Shoppers will be able to select between the CLA250 and CLA250 4Matic, and the option sheet should offer a number of packages to suit buyer tastes, including a sport package with tweaked fascias and unique wheels. Bi-xenon headlamps and 18-inch alloys may also be had as well as a panoramic sunroof and a collision avoidance system. The CLA will be available with a number of active safety systems on board, including lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, park assist and blind spot assist, to name a few.
The new sedan comes in 10 colors, including a very dashing purple Mecedes-Benz calls Northern Lights Violet, and there are a total of four interior trim finishes. The automaker hasn't released final pricing of all models just as of yet - we do know from Mercedes' Kate Upton Super Bowl ad that the car will start at $29,900 - but you can check out individual option and package pricing in the gallery. You can also find more information over at CLAForums.com.

13-year-old boy swipes dad's Mercedes, drives across Europe

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

After an argument with his adoptive parents that resulted in them taking away his mobile phone, an angry 13-year-old boy ran away from his home in Italy and headed straight to Poland to meet his biological sister. But instead of taking the train or hitching a ride, like most on the run, the young man (an accomplished go-kart racer and car enthusiast) grabbed the keys to his father's Mercedes-Benz and jumped behind the wheel for an impromptu road trip.
With less than 200 euros (about $270) in his wallet and a passport in his pocket, the youngster managed to put more than 500 miles between himself and his distraught parents, crossing two international borders in the process, before German police nabbed him just shy of the Polish border. According to reports, the vehicle was tracked - it wasn't his driving that alerted authorities to his location.
Reunited with his mother and father, who traveled to Germany to retrieve both their son and the vehicle, the young man apologized and acknowledged his error. As a result of his actions, social workers will increase checks on the family and we can be sure his parents are now hiding the keys.
