Hi there classic benz buyers , here is a real nice old 1963 mercedes 220 se convertible for sale, i am a used car dealer in dry climate south texas and i occasionally get my hands on something pretty rare down here , and this car is in very good condition especially for it being 50 years old . i bought this car from an old retired attorney down here that had it for around 30 years or so , it spent the last ten or so sitting under a dusty carport. it was delapidated but all there with only a small dent in the left headlight area and faded paint etc from sitting around , i actually spent the better part of 5 years trying to talk this guy into selling it to me , he was saving it for his grandson who after all bought a corvette and didnt want this car. i put on a new aftermarket fuel pump and rebuilt the front brakes, installed some miscellaneous new chrome, had the car repainted , put on a new canvas top, detailed the motor , did a trans service, got the air cond working , got all the lights burning etc . i spent a lot of time and money .we are pretty good mechanics but we are not professional restorers so the car works great but the repaint is only fair quality. but this is still a very cool car . This car STARTS RIGHT UP,RUNS GREAT , SHIFTS FINE, STEERS and STOPS EXCELLENT, THE AC WORKS ,THE LIGHTS AND TURN SIGNALS WORK , as does pretty much everything else, the speedo has a chrome cap that fell down inside the gauge,the seats are vinyl that look like leather and they are old and smell old, the window seals are rotten,i do not have the jack, undercarriage is pretty clean but it does have some what appears to be fiberglass patches around the rear trunk floor area but this is a very solid car,some of the chrome is a little pitted and the bumpers have some little dents . I have several old cars and i need to raise some money so i am offering it for sale . I have seen all kinds of prices for these cars and obviously i want as much as i can get , but I am a motivated seller so please do bid on it because i need the money and i am probably going to accept the high bid even if it does not reach my reserve . you are welcome to come and see it , you can probably drive it home to where ever but that is not a guarantee, it is mighty hot down here, I reserve the right to end the auction and sell it locally if the reserve is not met any questions please do call me jay at 956 624 2669 i can arrange for the car to be shipped about any where at your expense. Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG is Affalterbach's first big leap into the little pond
Tue, 05 Mar 2013The recent history of AMG is turning out amped-up versions of Mercedes-Benz offerings that would hardly ever be mistaken for their sedate counterparts. Sure, you'd need to pay attention to pick a G-Class from the G63 AMG, but dual side-pipes are a quick giveaway. The Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG is not only a new era in Affalterbach's attention on smaller cars, it is probably also the most subtle transformation we can think of in the line-up.
Low and chunky enough in standard guise to make a sporting impression, the aesthetic makeover is confined to black trim around the lower rim of the hatch, black wheels with red brake calipers and a single, rectangular exhaust tip on either side of the diffuser. It's easier to make a positive ID inside, where the flat-bottomed steering wheel, red seatbelts and red-rimmed details say, "You know what I am..."
If the car is running, though, it won't take but a second. The 2.0-liter turbo spitting 360 horsepower and 332 pound-feet will grumble through a sport exhaust at idle, and bellow through the same on it's way to a 0-60 time of less than 4.5 seconds. And if you need something that looks a little harder - and you want those quad pipes - then the A45 AMG Edition 1 is the treasure you seek. Missouri Mercedes dealer offering free Smart with every SLS AMG purchase
Wed, 05 Dec 2012The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT is an exquisite sports car that probably needs no help flying off dealer lots, even with a starting price of almost $200,000, but Mercedes-Benz of Kansas City has come up with an interesting incentive to sweeten the deal. For buyers who purchase a new SLS AMG from dealer stock before the end of the year, the dealership is throwing in a new Smart Fortwo from its inventory at no charge... with a required coupon no less.
In addition to being a great tactic to get a little free press, the spare car also makes sense as an alternative to the SLS, which measures more than 15-feet long - almost twice the length of a Fortwo - and has a 563-horsepower engine that sucks down gas at the rate of 13 miles per gallon in city driving (and even that's provided you don't give in to the devil on your shoulder). Plus, at the end of the day, this really isn't that big of an incentive. Being given a slow-selling $12,490 car for the purchase of a model starting at $199,500 represents about a six percent incentive, which is along the lines of a $1,900 rebate for a $30,000 car.

Boston bombers were tracked using Mercedes mbrace [w/video]
Sun, 28 Apr 2013We now know Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the two brothers said to be behind the Boston Marathon bombings, planned to head for New York City to detonate more improvised explosive devices. As it turns out, that plan was foiled by the quick thinking of one Mercedes-Benz owner, diligent police work and the Mercedes-Benz mbrace system. When the brothers carjacked a 26-year-old Chinese entrepreneur identified only as "Danny," they didn't realize his Mercedes-Benz M-Class was equipped with the mbrace system, which can call for help in the event of an accident or track the vehicle in the event of a theft.
According to reports, the Tsarnaev brothers held Danny hostage for nearly 90 minutes while they drove around Boston forming a plan until they had to stop for fuel. When one of the brothers went inside to pay, the other put his gun down for a moment. Danny took the opportunity to unlatch his seat belt, open the door and run to another nearby gas station, where he told the owner to call the police.
When police arrived, they used the mbrace system to track the SUV after receiving Danny's permission, and it wasn't long before a shootout between police and the brothers ensued.
