We bought this miata with every intention on repairing and selling it. We got caught up in alot of other projects and decided to not go any further. We bought a used block with the crank and pistons (picture with block on engine stand) installed and were going to rebuild it to go into the car instead of getting a used motor and not knowing it's condition.

The car's body is in really good condition with all glass intact. The convertible top is only two years old without ANY rips or tears, that top alone was $500. The tires have about 85% life left. Interior does not have any tears in the seats, carpet is in great condition, dash is in really nice shape. The car is very dirty because it has been sitting for about a year.

What we really liked about the car is the fact that it is an automatic, for as you miata people know, is not standard for these cars. We also have the CHROME BAR that goes around the seats and it is in super great condition.

THE ENGINE IS NOT IN THE CAR! We did remove the engine as we started this project (picture of engine on skid) and it is COMPLETE without any parts missing. The valve cover is in the car.

If you notice in the picture under the hood, you will see an ELECTRONIC SUPER CHARGER that the person had hooked up which probably the reason the rod went through the block. We DO NOT advice using this unless you rebuild the engine with high performance pistons and rods.

If you have ANY questions, please feel free to contact us before bidding and we will do our best to answer them all. THANKS!

Mazda MX-5 GT gets green light

Fri, 18 Oct 2013

The Mazda MX-5 Miata is as popular around the Autoblog offices as Kate Upton posters are around fraternity houses. Few staffers have much criticism for Mazda's ubiquitous roadster, and fewer still aren't overjoyed when one arrives in their driveway. So you can imagine how a report from Auto Express about a more potent MX-5 model is going over in our offices today.
The new model, which was shown in concept form as the Mazda MX-5 GT at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, has a slight catch, though. First, we have absolutely no idea if Mazda will bring the MX-5 GT to the US. Secondly, and perhaps more problematically, this isn't a production car - it's a kit from the team at Jota Sport.
Now, to be fair, the kit doesn't sound like a bad thing. It bumps the UK-spec 2.0-liter, 157-horsepower engine up to 203 hp thanks to a sports exhaust and a revamped ECU (46 horsepower from an ECU and exhaust in a naturally aspirated car?). To make the little Miata even more agile, Jota has also fiddled with the suspension. AE doesn't mention things like the grippy tires or Recaro seats that were found on the concept, though.

Mazda and Lexus crowned with KBB 5-Year Cost To Own awards

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

We report on a lot of awards, some of which are given out based on more solid criteria than others. This one, the Kelley Blue Book 5-Year Cost to Own awards, seems like one that new car shoppers should pay attention to.
The cost of a car goes far beyond what you pay for the actual metal, leather and rubber at the point of purchase. Fuel, insurance, maintenance and repair costs, and the cost of fees from the state and financing will all weigh on your wallet while you own the car. That's not even taking into account the biggest cost: depreciation, or the amount of money you lose based on what your car is worth years from now versus the day you bought it.
KBB tracks these sorts of things, and they've compiled a list of winners for 2013 models. On the brand level, Mazda and Lexus earn the 5-Year Cost to Own award for having the lowest overall projected five-year totals (though, curiously, we note that Mazda and Lexus each had only one segment winner). There are lots of winners for all the various segments, so we'll just pick out a few surprising ones to share and you can view the rest here.
