Jeep Comanche, Pioneer Model, 1988, 2 Wheel Drive Truck, Pickup, Jeep With Cap on 2040-cars
Home, Pennsylvania, United States
Ok Jeep Fans!! You won't find another one like this, in this good of a condition! I hate to sell it, but my daughter has decided to return to college and needs something a little more practical for her to commute. Runs like a champ, starts right up and has plenty of power. Brakes are good, just had a new brake line put in 7 months ago. Has some light rust in spots, most notably around the drivers door handle ( see photos). Previous owner had some light body work done, and paint touch ups. Body appears to be solid otherwise. Some of the black rubber molding has fallen off, but I think it is all in the cab. Includes original jack and tools. Paint shows some fading and flaking, but for the age, its in pretty good shape (see photos). Had Ziebart Protection. Running Boards are in great condition. Inspected until 11/14. Everything appears to be working, including controls, with no warning lights on. It's an automatic with a 4.0 six cylinder...can't beat those engines. With the low miles for the age - still has a lot of life yet. Radio isn't the best - but it works. Does have a sunroof - I have never opened it tho. Interior is original and still in great condition. No cracks on the dash. Does have slider windows in the cab & in the cap. Cap is good and I have never taken it off. Overall, not perfect, but generally in good condition, and very restorable - or drive as is. Pictures were just taken this morning - that is dew on the vehicle - not scratches, dirt or major paint malfunction. Still using the vehicle for chores and trips at this time. Ask questions, happy to answer all - don't think we're missing anything, but just to be final - this vehicle is sold 'as-is', no warranty or guarantees! Additional pictures upon request. You are welcome to view the vehicle before purchasing. This is listed locally. |

Going high-tech, the 4x4 way
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Is It An Off-Road Adventure Or Just A Walk In The Park?
I remember having to get out and lock hubs and shift into neutral to engage low range.
Coming off press previews of the 2013 Land Rover Range Rover and the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee that involved some heavy-duty off-road rock climbing, I'm simply amazed at the capabilities that these vehicles possess. But even more impressive (or troubling depending on your perspective) is the relative ease with which you can operate these vehicles in seemingly impossible terrain.
Toyota, Lexus dominate KBB's Best Resale Value Awards
Tue, 19 Nov 2013Toyota and Lexus stormed the 2014 Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Awards, winning a combined 18 categories including best brand and best luxury brand. This marks the third year in a row that both automakers have won the Brand and Luxury Brand resale value awards. In all, Toyota won 11 categories and Lexus won seven.
Honda made a good showing, as well, winning two segments (Accord Plug-In Hybrid and Civic Si) and putting one car on the top-10 Best Resale Value list (CR-V). Chevrolet did even better, winning two segments (with the V6 Camaro and the Corvette) and placing three cars on the top-10-overall list (again, the Camaro and Corvette, plus the Silverado 1500).
The other winners came from Jeep, Dodge, Infiniti, Subaru and Audi. To give you a clearer picture of the Toyota and Lexus domination, their 18 mentions represents more than half of the 34 awards (including the top-10-overall list).
Jeep Cherokee finally dealer-bound
Tue, 22 Oct 2013We had our First Drive of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee last month, but it appears that prospective buyers won't have too much longer to finally get time behind the wheel of the new small Jeep.
Automotive News is reporting that after a two-month delay, Jeep dealers will finally start receiving their first shipments of the new Cherokee, in the next 10 days. A Chrysler spokesperson confirmed to Autoblog that the Cherokee is indeed on its way to Jeep dealers.
According to AN, about 23,000 Cherokees have been built since production commenced back in June, but potential powertrain issues forced Jeep to make adjustments to the Cherokee along the way. Automotive News says that in order to make sure there are no issues with the Cherokee before it reaches customers, it is testing each vehicle after it rolls off the assembly line at a rented test track near the vehicle's Toledo North Assembly Plant.
