1991 Jeep Cherokee XJ with a 4.0 (6 Cylinder) and auto trans. This Jeep is a reliable rig.

The previous owner said the motor was rebuilt in 2006 and it runs like it, but I have no proof of Rebuild. I have driven it to work off and on for the last few months and it has been very reliable and got surprisingly good gas Milage, but it is definitely built to go off road. We trailered it to Tuttle creek ORV Park in Kansas with our local Jeep Club and it is a beast. It runs hard and climbs rocks. The pictures are of it Rock Climbing at Tuttle Creek.

Here is a rundown of the list of equipment on this Jeep.

  • Complete Exo-skeleton (exterior roll cage)
  • Whole Jeep is Herculined Black
  • 6.5" Long Arm Lift Kit
  • Custom 4 link Rear with Coil Springs
  • Custom Rock Sliders hooked to Cage
  • 33x12.5-15 TRXUS Mud Tires with Great tread
  • Automatic Front Locker
  • Rear Spool
  • Slip Yoke Eliminator
  • KC OffRoad Lights
  • Massive OffRoad Tie Rod and Drag Link
  • New Battery only couple months old
  • Brand New $300 Matching Spare on Rim
  • CB Radio w/Wilson antenna. Quick disconnect for removal
  • Sirrus Satellite Radio
  • It would cost a lot to build and my asking price is less than the parts on the Jeep. Make no mistake, this is not a perfect vehicle, the body has many dents dings and body panels are dented. It is not perfect, but it was put to the test and nothing could stop it. The 4x4 works and it has low end Grunt. It would serve as a daily driver if needed, but it is built for the Rocks and Trails and as a toy to have fun. If you are looking for a show truck and looks, this is not it... but need a Mechanically Strong and Reliable Jeep that is a Beast on the Rocks and trails, this is the one. Please do  not bid if you are not going to buy it. The last moron who won the bid felt it was my problem to get the Jeep delivered to him. Buyer is responsible for shipping. Thanks for looking and I am happy to answer any questions

Key-swapping thieves steal Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT from FL dealer

    Sat, 09 Nov 2013

Just a few weeks back, we reported on the theft of an Audi RS5 by a pair of creative thieves who managed to swipe the car's keys when the salesperson stepped away from their desk. Now, a Florida dealership is missing a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 after some crooks switched the Jeep's keys with an identical, non-functioning set.
According to the report from local NBC affiliate WPTV, the men went in and spoke to a dealer about the Jeep. They walked outside, took a look at it, started it up and in the process managed to switch out the fobs. After doing their time with the salesperson, the thieves walked back out to the car, got in and drove away.
"I mean obviously, the way it was done, I think that they were professionals and they knew what they were doing," said Arrigo Jeep General Manager Joe Tufo. "The fact that they did it in broad daylight and switched the key fob and it was like it was nothing. That's what makes it unique," he added.

eBay Find of the Day: 1977 Jeep J20 time capsule

    Tue, 08 Jan 2013

Is it just us or has eBay really become, of late, a surprising time capsule of older, barely used automobiles? We've had the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT with 83 miles, the 2004 Ferrari Enzo with 175 miles, the 1987 Shelby Lancer with 22 miles, the 1989 Shelby Dakota with 23 miles - none of those four cars ever even registered - and the 1975 Cosworth Vega with 191 miles. You can add to that list a 1977 Jeep J20 - the kind of Jeep that enthusiasts point to when they beg the brand to make another pickup truck.
Listed on eBay by Masterpiece Classic Cars in Whiteland, Indiana, the Brandywine and Alpine White truck has used its 360-cubic-inch V8 paired with a three-speed automatic to go just 3,940 documented miles. Not surprisingly, it's listed in excellent condition and the images appear to bear that out. The three-quarter-ton pickup comes with its original manual and pamphlets, the Quadra-Track four-wheel drive probably just as ready to tackle the terrain as it was 36 years ago. If only it came with some John Denver to play in that AM/FM/8-Track stereo...
At the time of writing it hasn't garnered a single offer or bid, probably due to the above-top-dollar Buy It Now price of $34,900. Still, since this is likely the closest you'll get to a Jeep pickup for some time, we'd recommend admiring it in the gallery of photos above.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalls nearly 750k vehicles in two campaigns

    Thu, 16 Oct 2014

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling a total of 747,817 vehicles in the US in two separate campaigns recently added to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration database.
The first one covers about 434,581 units of the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Challenger, Durango, and Jeep Grand Cherokee from the 2011-2014 model years with electric hydraulic power steering, the 3.6-liter V6 engine and a 160 amp alternator, according to FCA. In the affected vehicles, it's possible for the alternator to fail without warning and possibly cause the car to stall. According to the documentation submitted to NHTSA, the automaker began investigating the problem in August 2014 and has found possible evidence of one crash caused by the failures but no known injuries.
Customers will begin receiving notification about the recall next month, and obviously the repairs will be done at no cost to them.
