ANOTHER FIXER UPPER WHOLESALE SPECIAL
2003 HONDA PILOT EX-L WITH A BROKEN TIMING BELT
IT DOES NOT RUN!!!!!!!!
What i can tell you is that it drove beautifully right up till that with no check engine lights and full OBD rediness. All of the suspension felt nice and responsive as did the brakes and most importantly the transmission shifted PERFECT. It has 4 matched tires that have excellent tread, with no uneven wear. This was really a nice vehicle right till the belt snapped. The body is in nice shape with some normal parking lot dings that i have tried to picture, the worse part is the rear bumper, one side is a little smushed and the other side is scraped up. The interior is in good shape for the year with minor wear on the leather but no rips or tares, it does need a really good cleaning though. This has the factory rear DVD player with both head sets and the remote. Also it has the factory all weather mats from front all the way to the back. The third row seat is folded up under the mat.
AS SOON AS WE NOTICED THE SEIZED CAM SHAFT WE STOPPED WORKING ON IT, WE PUT THE MOTOR MOUNT BACK ON AND PUT THE ADDITIONAL PARTS NEATLY IN THE BACK, THE SIDE OF THE MOTOR IS PARTIALLY DISASSEMBLED, BUT ALL THE PARTS ARE THERE!!!!! THE EASIEST WAY TO GO ABOUT FIXING THIS I THINK IS TO REPLACE THE WHOLE ENGINE, BUT DO WHAT YOU WISH IF YOU ARE THE HIGH BIDDER!!!!!

Acura built just 91 examples of the ILX last month, here's why
Thu, 18 Apr 2013The short life of the Acura ILX has been vexed by one glaringly odd standard equipment choice, mediocre reviews, getting outsold by its competition as it posted slower-than-projected sales and a pledge by Honda to upgrade its supposedly upgraded offering. Therefore, when Automotive News reports that just 91 of the Civic-based Acura sedans were manufactured last month - after a string of production months in double-digits - it would be easy to press the button for the alarm bells.
But that would be hasty, because it is actually the 2013 Honda Civic that is crimping the production pipeline of the ILX. The vastly higher sales numbers of the Honda meant that all three North American plants that produce it needed to crank up output to satisfy dealer inventory needs, including the Greenburg, Indiana plant that makes both the Civic and the ILX. As the classic guns-vs-butter Economy 101 lesson taught us - in which making more of one necessarily means making less of the other - well, the Civic is the gun.
Honda prepared for this eventuality by cranking out the Acuras while it got ready for Civic production. The ILX has held steady at about 500 units shy of company projections every month, and the current inventory represents about 90 days worth of sales. That makes Greenburg's ostensibly low numbers in line with the realities of the ILX, and the situation probably won't change much as Acura gets ready for the improved 2014 ILX.
Honda MC-? prototype
Thu, 02 Jan 2014Honda is less an automaker, it has been said, and more of a motor company that builds vehicles into which to put its engines. That sort of perspective goes a long way towards explaining the mind-boggling diversity of the company's product lineup. The Japanese industrial giant makes lawnmowers, marine engines, robots... even jet aircraft. It's also one of only a handful of companies that makes both cars and motorbikes. We recently had the chance to sample something that falls in between.
It's called MC-β - shorthand for Micro Commuter Beta, which already tells you it's Honda's second stab at the formula. The first Micro Commuter prototype was announced a year prior and, though marginally larger, struck us as a more complete product than its successor. But it'll likely still be a while before the formula is perfected and put into production, and even then it isn't likely to find its way any time soon to Honda's American showrooms - whether those showrooms are selling cars, bikes or ride-on mowers.

Analysts say Honda's growing woes in Europe not just the economy
Tue, 12 Feb 2013There is no denying that the European auto market is taking its lumps right now - just ask Peugeot - but Honda might be taking this downturn on the chin a little harder than some of the other Japanese automakers doing business on the continent. Automotive News Europe is reporting that things have gotten so bad for Honda that it will be cutting 800 workers from Swindon, England plant that builds the CR-V, Civic and Jazz (a.k.a. Fit). This will be the first time Honda has made such cuts in more than 20 years.
Despite an increase in output last year over 2011 (165,607 units compared to 97,459), the Swindon plant is still running well below its full capacity (250,000/year), and its 66 percent capacity is less than the expected breakeven point of industry analysts (75 to 80 percent). Unlike in the US, however, Honda's new CR-V and Civic aren't selling well, and the similarly sized Nissan Qashqai is outselling the CR-V at a rate of more than five to one. Slow CR-V sales are blamed on a relatively high price and the crossover's conservative styling. On the complete opposite side of the spectrum, the report notes that Nissan continues to experience growth at its UK operations, leading analysts to suggest that Honda can't blame the sour economy for much of its woes.
